😂😂😂 i didn't know what you were talking about but when i heard i just burst out in disbelieving laughter

Meapyboy1234567

😂😂😂damn that's amazing. That guy has guts.

Tan & Tay

I know I am so late with this, but I love that the last part of this episode reminds me of my favourite Chris Walken SNL bit where Chris Walken has to bit by bit change all the lyrics of Greased Lightning because they’re too dirty

Bryce Peterson

“Welcome to Eldermourne: Where the Tweens have Knives and Pipes!”

Bryce Peterson

The idea of mistaking a lost (very real) child in need of help as a deadly premonition is peak human experience.

Nick Gibson

My grandma used to have a creepy doll in a case standing at the end of a dim hallway. I’m honestly surprised I don’t have a phobia of dolls, but I remember being freaked out from it lol

Amira Larrick

After reading How to Sell A Haunted House by Grady Hendrix, I REFUSE to go near puppets and dolls 😭

J. Gro

The neighborhood watch signs made me fearful that someone was going to break into our house, so I slept with the lights on. Bad guys won't come for you if they think you're awake!... was my logic...

Retail Hell Court Jester

I had a friend in high school whose mom collected dolls and I refused to sleep in her house.

Jakub Dublin

Fun fact: the high school mascot in my town is The Kewpies.

BeaverOil

Been eyeing this thumbnail for the last week wondering why it’s a doll……I now have my answers (ty Jake)

Mars Cat

Scariest thing I ever saw was a lady trying to sell a box of broken porcelain dolls on Facebook marketplace. 100% were possessed dolls.

Crankysister

It's such a weird coincidence to be listening to this 9 days after A Brush with Bekah made a video on why we find dolls creepy.

Tyler Whorff

Was not expecting a consent based piss drinking PSA in the middle of this

Chris Atienza

Coming back to this during Toylight and loving this lol. All the early context

John Doane

What in tarnation is this thumbnail? Lmao

Kai

that thumbnail bodes well!

Max

That thumbnail is on point

Stanarchy

Every time NADDPOD posts new content I'm like, "oh shit, OH SHIT" and it makes my day

The Great Zarquon

Oh no, It's the sexy chicken nugget all over again lol

Courtney F.

Oh God. Who else's grandma had those creepy dolls??

Phillip Cerna

Hahaha 😂 Eff you guys for posting that pic. Disgusting lol

Jennifer

It's my favourite thing when the short rests have weird cover images

ClockworkNinja24

dolls again? where's the 2 crew when you need them?

Scott Allen

You know the short rest is wild when the thumbnail isn't standard

Ted Orbach

Truly terrifying thumbnail

Rune

Oh wow, yeah when I was a kid, my grandmother took me into her closet and behind her clothes were rows of shelves and she pulled back the hangers to show me the 3 solid walls of dolls she kept and told me "one day, these will all be yours" as I developed a new fear staring into all of those soulless eyes. Once I have them, I will be getting rid of them IMMEDIATELY

Mae B

Ok yeah my sister had a bunch of dolls. But we were never allowed to remove them from the box so they're all in great condition. They just always sat on my sisters shelf all in a row

Mae B

Wow Murph I thought I was the only one who stayed up all night waiting for someone to come in and kill me as a kid.

BuffVenom

As a lil gay boy who only got barbie hand-me-downs from my cousins - LOVE dolls, however; my home was near a maximum security prison so I feared for murderers escaping and attacking my family most nights as a kid 😅😝🤫

Omar Mtz

Sooo is somebody going to send a doll to Murph??

Jenna

MURPH I slept like that for all of high school and it sucks nuts - I’ve never heard of anyone else who did the same!!

Austin Gumbiner

As someone who was in Grease in High School, I can confirm that we definitely changed it to "the chick's will scream". Fun fact: the original script called it a "dragon wagon" instead of "pussy wagon". The guy who played Knickie definitely said "Pussy" for every performance. He was elected Prom King.

Rachel

need to relisten to the casper’s uncles episode now 😂

Lil’ Stinky

This reminds me of that episode of dr who where everyone was scared of the weird gas mask kids and then it got cured by like true love’s kiss basically.

Shenshen

When Murph says "Hey" in the first few minutes, I could only hear him say "Get the Honey!"

Thefrollickingnerd

Caldwell with mild spoilers about the endo friendos discussing how to bring about the fall of the government. I think that’s in next episode!

Canid Duality

Grease musical was "cleaned up" for the movie. Different experience if you watch it on broadway.

Joseph Collison

Anytime you change the picture for an episode, all I think about is how Caldwell said that this is displayed in people's vehicles and I think its so funny every time

Armadon the only

Now we know why murph and emily have so many cats. To kill ghost children

Saru

I used to sleepwalk as a kid and shared my room with my older sister. One night when she got home after sneaking out to go partying she opened the door to our room just to find me standing (fast asleep) on the other side. I don't remember any of this but she still tells me that I nearly gave her a heart attack

Austin Johnson

My wife's grandma got her a collection of clown dolls and sometimes I can't sleep at night because I remember they are in the basement. Waiting.

1man2hands

So funny to me that the four of them, who are arguably playing pretend for a living, hate the green tweens specifically for playing pretend lmao

1man2hands

That's not a kewpie lol kewpies are cute

Potato Muffin

Being afraid of Dolls is like actually hilarious to me. Like I'm not gonna make fun of anybody Trauma but... it's a fucking doll man. Kick that fucking head in and you're done. Oh no the doll has a knife, my legs are longer than it's entire body.

Potato Muffin

Hey kid are you a Ghost? If you're a Ghost you have to tell me.

Caitrin

Bold assertion that no one would like pictures of cats on Instagram

Daniel Pepper

Kyuupi is actually now a brand of Mayonnaise in Japan and has a logo like the original Kyuupi dolls. If you can find Japanese mayo it most likely is this brand.

Magestain

The jumpscare of an album art is also the last mother's day present I ever gave my mom.

Mr E Bones

Holy fuck Murph, you and I slept the same as kids. For some reason I thought people would come and kill me and so I just stared out in the dark waiting for it to happen.

Professor Pratt

Murph, you remind me of the boy in Poltergeist when he stares at the clown and then it comes to life and tries to kill him.

J. Marshall Smith

Kewpie Dolls are wild but their background is really cool. They are based on the Kewpies comic made by Rose O'Neill, one of the first massively successful female cartoonist. She was an incredible illustrator, suffragette, and racial justice advocate. Generally amazing person! The Kewpies were these weird little fey babies, and were the sort of predecessors for the Smurfs and Troll Dolls and such, and featured a Papa Smurf-esque character named Uncle Hob who was a baby with whiskers and wings. Truly insane. Rose O'Neill is a legend, but those dolls are freaky.

Professor Pratt

My daughter totally scared the fuck out of me when she was a toddler. She’d come in talking and then laugh or cry and walk away. I’d get up and find her back in bed. She grew out of it but, man was that weird.

Bunnay Ch33ks

My sister had an American Girl doll that looked like her and I dressed her in a Victorian dress and left her in dark rooms for my sister to get freaked out it was great

Renee Wild

Emily I want nothing more than nonstop pictures of your cats

Garga Lenoir

The trick is that when you ask they legally have to say if they are a ghost.

Aleks Lynne

my grandma got me a Kewpie doll when I was super young, even though I have always HATED dolls. It was on a shelf above my head and freaked me out so much, especially the weird little face, I would turn it to face the wall so it couldn't look at me. My mom would then come in and tidy my room etc when I wasn't there and WITHOUT TELLING ME would flip the doll back around, so I would come back and it would BE STARING AT ME AGAIN. It was so fucking terrifying I never said anything and neither did my mom, so for my entire childhood I just accepted I lived with a haunted doll that may one day try to murder me. Didn't learn until like into my teens that it was my mom the whole time lmaooooo

evans-endeavors

I fuckin love how the first 20 minutes of this was just “Haunted Doll Watch” lmao. And also Murph detailing how he was “powerful” and could take out a doll is my favorite thing I’ve heard all week.

Her Majesty, Claudette

My oma was a pretty important porcelain dollmaker, and when she retired my aunt took over. My oma's old house and aunt's current one is swarming in dolls and it's basically a family promise not to watch horror movies related to dolls lol.

EMILY PLEASE CAT INSTAGRAM

Dylan Irish

BRING THE CATS BACK!! (Please)

Janaga

I remember one of the first times i slept over at my cousins' when i was like 9 or 10 and I woke up thirsty in the middle of the night. There was a glass cabinet that had family photos and one antique doll that I think my aunt's mom gave to her or something. I was just walking by and saw out of the corner of my eye a face in the glass staring at me and flipped my shit. I'm pretty sure I actually screamed, but I don't remember if I woke anyone up. I never needed something during the night again. It just always looked like its eyes were following me

Dana A

chiming in to add, emily, pretty sure nobody would be upset about cat pics, you know we love critter country and want to see the cats ❤ (you also definitely can post travel pics alongside the cat pics there are no rules I promise)

Katie Rhodes

Someone made me watch Child’s Play when I was 5 years old, I just nodded reverently as murph was shitting on dolls

Julie V Eckert

Speaking of Greased Lightning being a filthy song.... When I was a toddler I took dance lessons at a studio and that was the song for our tap dance!! LOL. Learning as an adult how dirty the song was all I can think is THAT was the song they picked for 3 year olds to tap dance to ☠️ and all the adults let it happen... Idk maybe it was a clean version of the song I'll have to ask my mom 😂 Edit: Mom confirms the song version we danced to was clean, I still think it's a funny choice

Jack Nathe

I don't know y'all, the doll isn't scary

Sam Killjoy

Emily… I would love more cat content

Grass

I WOULD LIKE TO SEE ALL YOUR CATS PLEASE

Bransy330

Listening to Murph absolutely nail the Grandma thinking porcelain dolls will increase in value factor. My grandmother collected them for years as my "inheritance". My father took them to be appraised and was literally told "these are the beanie babies of dolls." I made 100 bucks at a yard sale for them. I was incredibly creeped out by them my entire life so I was just happy to part with them.

Eli McCool

Absolutely love the blood witch, I got to rip somebody's face off with it once!

MegAnn Haubold

Oh no not the investment dolls, got one every birthday until I turned 16 🙃

Frances Montell

It’s not just the explicit sex talk in Grease but the actual message of the show is literally to tell girls that it is better to be a slut than a tease. It is kind of wild how much Boomers love a show that basically is just about how girls owe boys sex.

Noah Jay

As a childhood fan of American Girl dolls, plus an adult who worked in a retail AG store for a year, I have seen the gamut of very good and very cursed dolls. While most people brought actual AG dolls in (which I find endearing) I had many older women bring in a variety of random antique dolls to ask about them...like we were doll experts. Also now I feel like I am more powerful than Murph, given the sheer number of hours I spent in that store, including in near-darkness :D

Nick Lerche

I love Caldwell's use of imagery involving "Bunt sitting in the wings at the ready, sitting on this egg to hatch". Makes me visualize Murph as a chicken sitting on all these eggs that are going to hatch as they get to them. Hahaha! Love you guys, been listening for 2 years

Kristina Croes

Same Murph, same. I used to prepare mentally to be murdered each night and just make peace with it in order to sleep.

Ren

I did the same thing as caldwells daughter I still sit up bolt upright with my eyes open ive done it since I way a baby. Apparently it is terrifying.

Dr. Bearkele

My cousin used to act like she was possessed when asleep. I'd wake up to all sorts of insane, terrifying shit, like her smashing her face repeatedly into a pillow, or aggressively sweeping out her bed bc she thought it was full of bugs. To this day I refuse to sleep in the same room as her...

Dr. Bearkele

I always hated that movie when all my other friends liked it, bc I hated that the main character basically just changed her entire personality to be with a guy. When I was 10 or so, I thought my friends were really weird for liking that movie, even if the music was fun.

When I was in highschool I had a friend who was also told to jump in a river. It was at a marching band event and it was a joking remark to something he said, but he stripped down to his underwear and took the plunge anyway. The next school day the principal came to the cafeteria and escorted him to the office to suspend him, but as he got up from the table he got a standing ovation from the lunch room 🤣.
