Both Moonshine and Beverly should be alive and well. Moonshine would be the equivalent of a 40 year old elf (I believe that Emily said Moonshine was 20 at the start of campaign 1) and Beverly simply doesn't suffer the ill effects of only age (including dying from it) thanks to Undying Sentry.

For Murph: These last couple campaigns, the Big Bads have sort of centered on the world’s gods/deities and religious factions following them, which, coming to terms with my own personal beliefs about the difference between personal belief systems and organized religion, has been really interesting to listen to and really helped me lose some of my ingrained church guilt. Without spoiling, do you think campaign 3 will follow in that vein or do you have something else in mind for an antagonistic force? I was surprised to hear so much focus on potential race as during Eldermourne you implied you would be going in the same direction. Although it was a happy little accident due to Caldwell's paternity leave, are there any potential plans to have a secondary party of characters similar to the Hexbuds? Like if the main party is dealing with planar threats in the astral keep like was hinted, could there potentially be another party addressing the internal politics of Bahumia? I loved how the Hexbuds fleshed out the world, political scene, and villain of C2 and thought the extra party was an awesome (and entertaining) story-telling device! It's been a blast to see Murph's story-telling skills evolve, so no matter what his plans I'm excited to see what's in store for C3!

Unless something horrible happened to either Moonshine or Bev that led to their offscreen demise sometime in the last 200 years (classic Murph 🙄), it should be expected that the two of them are still alive and well. If/when either of them make an appearance in the new campaign, is it more likely that Murph would play them briefly as an NPC, or is it more likely that Emily and/or Caldwell would take over and own some nobs with their old lvl20 PCs? This one is for all the dms. I feel like Caldwell would feel this temptation most, but that’s just because he is the Duncle with the most chaotic good/Gold Saucer energy. When I’m world building or even just making npcs, I find myself often fighting the desire to make little inside jokes or pop culture references. As a player, I LOVE making those connections and finding the easter eggs. As a dm, I just put them in and don’t make any special effort to draw attention to them outside of the initial description or how the characters might act as themselves. I do love it when my players figure out the “inspiration” though. Do any of you struggle with this, or where do land on the spectrum of hidden gem world building? Is it different in your home games vs the podcast since it’s performative? I feel the temptation for elbow nudging and eyebrow raising would be especially strong as we return to BaTWOmia.

For Murph - I’ve always been a big fan of the seamless editing of the show. Other podcasts make it clear when there is a cut in dialogue or two clips are spliced together, but NADDPOD always seems effortless and the immersion is never lost. However, I would love to be taken out of the immersion for a moment with a peak behind the screen. I know you’ve mentioned before some of the things that get dropped like looking through the PHB, players discussing tactics, or cubes of ice in Jake’s whiskey, but are there any times you cut something from an episode for deeper reasons? For example, has there ever been a moment where someone has said something or done something you knew would get some fans heated (for whatever reason) and you cut it to protect them?

Shout out to the Normal Ass Dudes! I thought it was a really interesting choice to start the campaign in Ezry. I’ve often told people while recommending the podcast that it “starts to get really good in Galaderon” which I stand by, but I think that does undersell how fun the Ezry arc was. Murph, what influenced the decision to start campaign 3 in Ezry? Emily, Jake and Caldwell, what were your favorite moments from Ezry, and what parts of the setting are you most excited to see in campaign 3?

murph: what sort of tone do you think you want to create in this campaign? i feel like C1 and C2 were pretty different tone-wise; bahumia was fantastical and the PCs essentially became gods, whereas in eldermourne the players felt more like regular people and things felt a little grittier. In bahumia: the squeakquel, can we expect a shift in the world’s tone? (ps. me and my friend were talking about C1 and the C3 announcement and compared it to avatar vs. legend of korra! those were sort of the vibes i was getting from the announcement !!)
