me listening to this on the plane back home to buffalo in 2024 like 🧍🏼‍♀️

Jay S

i listened to So many dungeon court episodes on my trip to the uk last year lol, definitely made the flights more bearable

Hero TJ Quinn

Omg Jeremy made it to NADDPOD 😍😍😍

Campbell

Oh heck yeah, Jeremy Cobb!!!

CornCobb

Hey my last names Cobb too lmao

Paxton

Don’t have to do it, is part of the intro

Noah Jay

Haha I'm listening to old 3BH Patreon content, and it's the Luck of the Halflings episode with Caldwell. Can't wait to listen!

Corbz

This dropped right as I’m going to stand in a multi-hour covid test line, perfect timing!

Declan Konesky

Oh fuck! So excited for Jeremy! I love 3BH!

Brendan R Colquitt

You actually do have to do the dun dun. Remember in law and order the theme song was for the title credits then the dun dun was for the end/start of a scene

Riley Nahlik

Listening to this is Buffalo NY on that Thursday Jake mentioned. Literally 12 inches of snow on the ground and counting w wind chill under 10°. Sleeping outside tonight would definitely be a death sentence

Paxton

Because it’s totally not a teleportation spell

Ilana Galpert

there has to be a reason for the misty step spell thing though if 2 people were saying it, i feel like we don't have the full picture. maybe there wasn't clear line of sight because the hall was collapsing?

DowdMusic

I am the DM who let them have all the bombs. Some clarifications: -I should point out that this was 3.5 (where gold is much more available). Several super high level magic items cost more that 100K. -The bombs are contact explosives (like Alchimst Fire). -This is an evil party I have already come to the conclusion that all the bombs have been used as was suggested. Now the PCs have to craft their own - which, sadly, they have been doing. (As Jeremy suggested) That said, I will definitely have people coming for them due to the environmental damage and one of the BBEGs has been scrying on them - and they know that. As Murph said, he definitely has eyes on any new bags. If that bag is full again, they better watch their shit. Thank you for you judgment - I will happy continue to deal with their bullshit and implement a arms race. And Baliff Jake - you are always welcome at my table.

Emily C

Also, pay attention to how long it takes to craft bombs. If you go RAW, it's like 8 hrs per 25gp cost. It would take more than a full day of downtime to make a single bomb worth 150gp with normal rules. Also as the judges said, 100,000 gp of bombs would absolutely clear out a local economy of all bombs and bomb crafting material and would totally lead to bomb material super price inflation.

Shaun Riley

For the misty step thing, isn’t it because he dashed as a bonus action and then tried to use misty step (which is also a bonus action)? Agreed that the reasoning of “misty step doesn’t work that way” is… flawed, but unless he had two bonus actions then he couldn’t have done both.

Adah Kinzer

They took the dash action

Vincent G

Yeah if they were a Rogue they could of dashed as a bonus action, but otherwise its a full action.

Todd

Omg, I 100% had the same beginners bible as Jeremy

Jacob Bryan

**Major Rime of the Frostmaiden Spoilers** I wonder if the player actually had the Midwinter Child secret that they were trying to hide from the party by saying they had a Ring of Warmth? That would be a legit reason to allow the resistance.

Nia R

JEREMY COBB YES!!!!!

Nathaniel Thomas

Well this scraps my long held theory, that Caldwell and Cobb, were one and the same. Also, please make a one-shot called Caldwell & Cobb!

hell

the week where unati and emily swap podcasts and complete the sets of 3bh/naddpod on naddpod/3bh is gonna be amazing

華偉 曾

I'm just gonna say, there's a puppy companion out there, use that! it's also super cute.

James Wagner

What’s really funny about the Buffalo punishment is that we’re getting hit pretty hard with lake effect snow today and there’s at least a foot of snow at my house so having to sleep outside in this weather would be brutal I’ve done it before and I never want to again

Gurl Luigi

Omg I was going to say start an inquisition of forest patrol soldiers (a la smokey the bear) who have started a public campaign against bomb users and are trying to outlaw them (and also murder people who are black-market manufacturing bombs)!!!!!!!!

david day

With the dire wolf thing my dm let me have one as a sidekick that he let me level up.. it became an absolute beast.. and the whole knockdown thing during an attack def got misused lol

Palmate Antlers

If you turn a bag of holding inside out doesn’t it create like a little black hole and destroy itself? The fire bomb dm can just take the bag of holding away that way and their problem is solved!

boundspyral

I feel for you cause my party got into similar shenanigans in Avernus- our sorcerer loaded up our bag of holding worth holy water from an everlasting font (without anyone's knowledge- stashed all our stuff in some place that only he knew about), and when we went up against this really powerful undead creature, he scrambled onto it's shoulders, upturned the bag and dumped an entire content's worth of holy water on it, essentially dissolving it.

DowdMusic

If you put a portable hole in a bag of holding, or vise versa, it creates a huge explosion. If you turn one inside out all the contents are emptied at once. Also this is a 3.5 game and there is an Artificer in the party. He can make his own damn bags. Even before the court saw my case I had already taken the steps the High Crit suggested themselves and said all the bombs have been used/ bought by others. Now they need to craft their own. However, now at the courts suggestion I think all the baddies are gonna have their own bags of bombs.

DowdMusic

@meteormantis - kindred souls my friend. Same shit, different day.

Alli & Freckles

We love a Three Black Halflings x NADDPOD team-up!

Anonymous

If you had dashed wouldn’t you have used your bonus action already so you then can’t use misty step on your bonus action?

Anonymous

Movement 30, Dash Action 30, Bonus Action Misty Step 30. Paladins don't have dash as a bonus action.

Miles

Anytime you have the option to use Dash as a bonus action, you also have the option to use it as a main action since that is its default state.

Britt Murphy

Dutiful Bailiff Jake, any chance we can get a court stat update to round out 2021? Is court stenographer Michaela (sorry if spelled wrong) available to crunch the numbers? Currently relistening to old dnd court eps and that gem of a submission had me curious!

Matt Kilsby

Did my confession get cut?! At 42:11 Jake says “Matt K” but then at 42:50 it’s suddenly “Riley W”! 😪

Victoria Shotts

Not very hospitable to call guests old 😂

Joe D’Antonio

Re: bombs. As a dm you can’t buy more than 1d6 of any item from a shop. Bomb or otherwise.

Robin

Tiny Hut Vs Ring of Warmth is a DM being too rigid with the Rime of the Frostmaiden module. It specifically calls out the ring as an item the module gives out earlier as something to protect against the cold (and resistance to cold damage in general) but doesn't mention Tiny Hut even though yeah duh Tiny Hut would work.

Robin

Actually a problem I have with Frostmaiden overall was how easy players can overcome the survival stakes. It's basically not a problem almost immediately.

sarfs

I love the Scrappy Doo would you rather…. Can we have a bonus ep of more DnD would you rathers??

Summer Tribe

DnD does not do survival at all well. A common magic item can keep everything within 15 feet warm, all cold encounters solved, done
