I am listening so far after this came out, but couldn't you just ban dogs on mike? I mean, as a SERIOUS dog person, I wouldn't let my amazing and delightful pupper interrupt the scene, just as I wouldn't allow my adorable child to interrupt. Come on, folks. Just ban on mike interruptions, right? I wish people were more kind and sensitive.

Oliver

Caldwell's crone voice gives me life

Kevin Piening

Wish there was an update on the love confession

Hugo Wull

As a Weezer fan, I approve of the d12 DND

katie potato

Might be my fav ep ever- its really great for introducing people to the idea of DND court!

uh

Yall for some reason i thought of a book when i heard the title

riskutforthebriskut

bro said "i dont understand the fascination" about one of the most common house pets on the planet lmao

Leah S.

It looks like the comment was deleted, but someone said they were sure this worked out. The three of us live together and have a 1 year old along with our 10 year old step son. Super happy, able to pull our resources together for things we want. So far it's been great. No life is for everyone, but this really works with our situation. We have a few other families in the area like ours so it's really not overly crazy in our community.

On the Bag of Holding nuke and its viability, in the days of 3.5 there was a fan-made shematic put together of a bag bomb arrow, where both bags were suspended facing each other, and when the arrow hits it would cause the bags to collapse into each other.

AmitaiB

Extra support for the wind wall judgement, see the 3.5 description: The wall is “of considerable strength. It is a roaring blast sufficient to blow away any bird smaller than an eagle…” and can block even ‘gaseous’ dragon breath! ‘Roaring’ is definitive, but blowing away birds is hilarious 😂

Ben Beckwith

I am a dog person. But I have a colleague who will, in the middle of a teams meeting, wander off and pick up their dog and start to stroke it and chat to it, on mic. Including during a disciplinary...no dogs at the virtual table and people who enable dogs at the table should go as well!

James Mitch

Why babe 2, why not the wonderful 2009 "hotel for dogs"

MkA7L

The Nat 1 and Nat 20 wedding roll was simply Dice Christ demonstrating the highs and lows of marriage.

Its_Ven

after all for better nat 20s, for worse nat 1s. You keep lovin em <3

OGBlake

The preface works, everyone please don't @Caldwell. Off mic he just finished his dissertation on vibrational transmission through magical and non-magical mediums.

Andy

I sometimes do xp because it makes my players excited to be able to see themselves getting closer to their next level. My recent campaigns have been pretty short, self-contained adventures though, so I haven't bothered

Shane C

Very grateful that we got the return of the hemp milk song today

Jack Campau

pretty pretty please can we get a Bonus Ep with Capture the Bag with maybe a bonus guest for even teams of 2????

Jack Campau

Also in fairness to Caldwell, I also do think that a Hotdog is a funny thing to spike with drugs but ofc only if you know about it hahaha

Shane C

I just did the random page Monster Manual companion check and I got an adult white dragon so I think this rule has some value

William Bowen

As a dog and cat person, I do admit there is a time and place for cute animals and virtual DnD is hard enough to manage without distractions.

Marley McDonough

As a dog person, I am mortified. This makes eating a rotisserie chicken on camera seem polite in comparison.

Ilana Galpert

Maybe I'm just a little freak but I interpreted the love confession differently. I thought he was holding himself accountable--making it so he really had to behave himself

Kyle Corbett

I was in a Home campaign that had two very active vocal Pomeranians. And I’m currently in a home campaign with two curious ginger cats. The Pomeranians would often get under foot, or more so under the table. The ginger cats will fight each other sometimes and then the game comes to a halt because the three people who live in the house are all involved in the game. We also have a player who will go find the angrier of these two cats, sit down at the table, and try to work some of these snarls out of the cats fur. He will eventually be bitten or scratched and bring the game to a grinding halt. But honestly I prefer him playing with the cats because he tries to solve every social interaction by threatening shopkeepers, guards, and monarchs with the use of the spell lightning bolt.

Kyle Corbett

I do, however, have to admit I definitely let the cats get away with way more that I tolerate it with the dogs. One cat in particular helps deter people from leaving the table because she will take your seat if you get up. Replay next to a crackling fire in the fall and winter for the mood is always quite cozy ❤️

Mick

Murph's voice at 1:02:27 killed me #cum

Robert

Aabria is a fantastic guest! I hope she comes into the campaign as a guest player.

Olivia Hill

Hemp milk lore returns ❤️

Nifty

Dog person here. Fuck that noise that’s so annoying, also hate the dog baby speak!

Grnt

The thought of opening the monster manual for a random familiar and getting a terrasque is so funny to me

B1GP0TH3AD420

Sleeping in my hammock outside because I thought I saw Caldwell in my closet

Briar Bertolin

Okay as not a dog person (tm) due to a dog tearing my arm open after they escaped a friend's house (I don't blame the dog, just was traumatic) I get that animals are cute and should be included sometimes. When my cats are doing something funny I would definitely mention it once or twice when appropriate HOWEVER if it's an intense scene I don't care if your cat has learned how to juggle bowling balls while singing ave maria it's not their time to shine

Leah S.

I was in a similar situation where my partners character was in a relationship with a dmnpc. Now we have a Polycule.

Kris Barnes

I hate to “um sweetie” Caldwell, but it’s pronounced Loo-fee not Luh-fee

TitoDarko

I was about to say something but thanks for saying it for me lol

Jessica Cooper

Don't ban dogs you'll be eaten alive, set up a time before or after the session for pet appreciation and ask that we keep pets from being a distraction during a session. Our game is irl and I've forced my best friend to push her dog off her lap because she was too busy talking to it to hear me say it was her turn. Also I don't like the idea of being dog or cat people I find it super strange. I like animals.

amazeyphaedra

I support Murph's stance on dog people just let cat people like cats in peace!

Armando Ocampo

That guy is being bullied by dog lovers get the dog out the game

2026-09-05 07:00 I don’t think wind spells make noise, because Thunder spells specify the amount of distance they can be heard from. Or the knock spell specifies that It can be heard. You’re punishing flavor by saying it makes a loud noise, if my wind wall was flavored as me force pushing a group, would it not be loud then? So at my table spells do what they say they do, to give my players the freedom to change what they look like without changing their effects.

I can see Murph petting a cat in an evil castle saying “the world wasn’t made for people like us.” Trying to seat a hero to join his side

...The spell is specifically a wall of strong wind, not a wall of force. wall of force is a different spell. Wind is defined by the perceptible movement of air. Wind strong enough to prevent movement makes a lot of noise, almost to the point of deafening. So, every spell that doesn't specify it makes a noise is silent in your campaign? So Fireball is silent. Meteor Swarm, Wall of Fire, Maelstrom, Ice Storm, Tsunami, and Tidal Wave are silent. Thunder damage spells detail the distance at which they can be heard because they damage with the extreme concussive force, it is sound so loud it becomes physically damaging. They are extremely loud and can be heard for a larger distance than other spells, so it is specified. These spells evoke and summon controlled real elemental chaos. How were they punishing flavor? The spell itself details it is strong wind, that is not flavor added by Ranger, that is part of the spell. Wall of force is a wizard spell and is not on the ranger's spell list because their magic derives from their understanding of nature.

Get the guy out of the game! It sounds like he’s the one who doesn’t care about being present at the virtual table! It’s not a bad dog problem, it’s a bad person problem!!!

Everest

Also as a dm with a service dog, who is thereby incredibly well trained, and quiet unless he’s telling me I’m about to have a seizure, which he also does quietly but will jump on me so I can take medication and lie down. As a dm who uses discord video, I think banning dogs from dnd is wild, so many cat butts right up against the camera. And that is the right of a cat as a chaotic good/neutral creature!! Cats can be on the camera, good luck getting them to stop, dogs can be on the camera, but interrupting the game, and turning on your sound just so people can hear a dog howl or whine is insane. Also it’s the kind of behavior a dog displays when it isn’t getting enough exercise or attention, take the dog for a walk out of the game.
