Fun way to solve the car case is to make the car hot wheel sized. Can only cast two cantrips, or could be a heal bot that can also give advantage

Evan

I think the way to do the random meal thing is to get everyone's actual order and then roll for a single additional dish to add. Then everyone gets to try a few bites of something new but if it's something they don't want it doesn't mess with their meal.

ThatRyanbow

I think a single threat if played off as more playful could be fine. For instance I used to threaten to send my friends dildos to their address so their parents would freak

Kaidan C

I don’t know what this means, but it’s wrong

AmitaiB

Edit: I didn’t wait for the discussions before posting, dunno how to delete it 🙈 — The solution for the player in love with his Toyota: he doesn’t just want an OP vehicle, he wants something as strong as a PC - so why not give it to them? But they’d need to change classes (or pilot a ‘guest’ to get it out of their system) Like so: An Artificer with a steel defender, but flavored so that the PC is the defender, and the car is the artificer — climbing walls, casting spells, dealing damage, a even mount at higher levels (pick a powerful build species, maybe homebrew a warforged swapping out s/t for it – like the no need for food etc, since cars need gas?).

Irena

THE CRITTT IS NOW IN SESSIONNN

Trevor Rogers

Hmmmm seems like jake wrote the description tho

Jessica

I was just going to ask that, so now I'll creep on your comment instead

Grass

I literally just started my lunch hell yeah

CARROT SNATCH

thus was a crazy one already listened to it all the way through at 3x speed you guys are in for a whild ride but I'm not fucking spoiling anything so don't even try asking

Mac

👀

Dylan Jackson

If you are listening at normal speeds, at the time this comment is posted it is impossible to have listened to the whole dungeon court episode. Fun facts on Naddpod #1

Peter

A completely rogue court Justice Tanner punishing for punishing sake straight off the bat. Those who cherish the sanctity of the court beware!

Vinnyorcharles

There is another Viggo fact! At the end of the Fellowship of the Ring, when the Orc throws a knife at him and Aragorn parries it, that was a real knife! Viggo Mortensen is just that good of a swordsman!

Adam Gomez

Murph is a Ness main confirmed

DadOfBoar

Okay but I don't think the food thing was nearly as bad as they made it out to be? Then again I'm closer to a human garbage disposal than anything resembling a picky eater, so maybe it's not my place to speak.

Nina

Thank you! I just finished bar prep for the day and this notification is a gods send.

Jade F

All the polyam talk lately, especially after the new flag came out, is making my little polyamorous heart so happy

Prince.3ric

I dunno, my favorite bar in Toronto is a dnd bar where you can roll a d20 for what shot you drink! Sands it's super fun. But it is only a shot, not a meal. Plus you get to roll in the moment. Maybe they should've rolled right before ordering, and taken one disadvantage roll in game if they want to change their meal irl!!

Andrew Aziz

The dude that brought the surprise takeout had me cackling out loud 😭

Aalexander Knight

At least someone benefited from my poor judgement 🥲

Aalexander Knight

Murph was right, my heart wasn't in the right place and I am a frickin troll

Gurl Luigi

The person who did the food thing should apologize. This was a collective agreement among the group, involving MONEY and food, and this person violated it in a rude, weird way. People have food allergies, follow specific diets for their health, etc. I would ask the person to take the next two turns buying food.

Gilbot 3000

But did you roll for your food, too?

Evan Cordero

The FJ reminds me of Odyssey-san from Dungeons & Daddies

Rin

I love the roll for food idea but not as a surprise. If everyone agrees to it for fun I love it. The surprise without anything else seems rough

Aalexander Knight

I ordered objectively the best thing on the menu and then refused to share. That's fine, right? Yes, of course I rolled for my own food too. I'm dumb, not evil.

Justin Sun

I think the more important detail about the pitfall trap is that the DM said it was "too late" to switch what kind of ability check to do when they prompted the wrong one and was corrected. It kind of just sounds like they want to kill PCs, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. It's just weird to do that to someone who just joined your campaign.

Thomas Hegarty

Y’all are sincerely such a treat for my Friday commute

Mauricio Caceres

What kind of psychopath watches anything in a shared bed by themselves _without_ headphones...

Katy Tacik

Skinny hole is insane, it's gotta be perception for noticing things in your environment unless it's specifically a trap. Also, 200 feet? Is so deep???

Sean Flanagan

I will pay so much money to have Caldwell call me and threaten my life in his Adam Driver voice

Lia

Murph Ness main confirmed. 1v1, final destination, no items

Noell S.

In regards to the "brutal" DM, I'll just say this: there's brutal and then there's bullshit. This DM reeks of bullshit to me.

Takowowo

I was thinking of ways to do friendly intimidation checks and I landed on "Threaten to tickle the NPC". Intimidation player should have rolled a tickle check as to not harsh the vibe.

James Cerv

Sorry ya'll, I couldn't make it past the first case without pausing it to watch the extended edition of The Two Towers while working from home today. Looking forward to the other cases after the next 4 hours!

Jocelyne Moore

If someone threatened to tickle me without my consent, or did so, that would severely damage my relationship with that person. Tickling is an involuntary response, it's not fun to have your agency taken away. I do get where you're coming from but I just don't think there is a fun relationship saving way to intimidate someone. Intimidation is inherently violent or using the threat of violence.

Daylynnrey

Murph's outburst during the food case had me CACKLING

Basil McDonough

3rd Viggo fact Arwen's stunt double fell in love with her horse so Viggo bought it for her. Allegedly.

Takowowo

Point taken! Thank you for the insight

Mayor of Clown Town

The first ever dnd court gets announced in MY city and I get tickets and you follow it up with the most viggo-heavy episode to date??? Is this show literally made for me??

Rowan Stanley

As an autistic person, the random food case is my actual worst nightmare.

Alex Herndon

Caldwell wouldn’t worry about the threat until a knife was drawn. But isn’t he the one who got knocked out by a bunch a fweens in the crux? Learn a lesson Zerk

Dallon Taylor

i NEED a follow up from the maniac who fucked with everyones food

Sara

There is a cave called "The Shaft" in a random paddock in South Australia that has an opening barely big enough for a single person (divers' gear needs to be winched in separately) that is hundreds of feet deep AND it was first discovered by a horse putting it's hoof through the opening while walking across it. Fortunately the horse was too big to fall in the hole, and they put a bit of corrugated metal over the hole when people aren't diving in it, but there ARE just random max-damage holes out there in the world.

PlutoniumHeart

When rhe fj section came up was right when I parked next to a fj cruiser lmao

Mr. ZAP

I paused the episode and came here before listening to more just to make sure someone had already said it. I'm proud of you! I hope Caldwell sees this so he can reach his Viggo climax,

Ursa

MY FAVORITE VIGGO FACT IS THAT HE BROKE A TOOTH DURING A SWORD FIGHT AND THEY HAD TO FORCE HIM TO GO GET IT FIXED INSTEAD OF FINISHING THE SCENE i have no idea if caldwell finds this Viggo fact later during the episode, i was too excited to comment about my favorite one.

Ursa

when i feel sad i watch the return of the king scene in front of the black gate and cry, so to that person, i see you, i respect you, maybe get headphones <3

Stabitha

Man, if someone ordered my food for me after I bought them whatever dumb food they wanted the week before, I’d be so bullshit. Not everyone just eats anything and a lot of people have good allergies or food sensitivities. I have a lot of texture issues and truly, getting something that I couldn’t eat, even with sides, is not the thing. The hardest of passes. Not everyone eats the same way you do. Bleh.

AJ Baker

The dice devil rolls spin down dice for d20’s and uses the d4’s with the numbers on the bottom

Megan

i'm spoiled now and keep hoping for another video court case XD

Gabriel Wykle

I have to say, I voluntarily randomized my food orders for *years* in college. Asian restaurants were the best because everything was already numbered, so just put the highest number in a random number generator. Excellent way to order, I recommend to everyone. (I can't anymore as I've been vegetarian for 6 years). On a separate note I also would flip a coin to make major life decisions. Also in college, I had two offers for internships, one in Wisconsin and one in California. Couldn't decide so I flipped a coin, and ended up meeting my wife in California. She doesn't like thinking about how a different coin flip would have meant we never met. I will say, if you decide to live like this, *NO REROLLS.* You must accept to outcome, or bail out before you see the result. Many times just flipping the coin makes you realize what you want before you see the result. In that case don't look at what it would have been.

Laura Elaine Couch

yuncles and yaunts made me laugh out loud on the bus at rush hour 💀

Marin Wilson

I have to workshop the rolling for dinner pitch: everyone orders what they want, and the group also rolls for one random dish to taste together. That’ll be 10k eggs or 13 brown leaves. (Is there an established exchange rate?)

Summer Tribe

" the difference often comes down to how actively the player is searching for something" so why is passive investigation on the character sheets?

Summer Tribe

i love that right off this bat this isn't even DnD related having your grave filled in with dice is a great idea. I intend to have my organs donated to science or w/e so maybe those could just be replaced with dice

Tian

@Caldwell, if you're curious about tomatoes in Chinese food, try asking for fried tomatoes and eggs sometime. It's a pretty common dish
