Because it's not actually good at the tasks needed to remediate the environment. xAI/SpaceX's Colossus datacenters are actively, illegally polluting the air of predominantly PoC neighborhoods in Memphis. Also, environmental damage is a sociopolitical problem and requires a sociopolitical solution; we know what to do and we don't do it, a gadget won't fix that.

AI as a supplement or jumping off point is fun, but it's extremely dangerous and also a buzzkill when it comes to art and genuine human connection/creation lol. if anyone's interested in it, i'd encourage you to do some research because it's probably worse than you think! i appreciate caldwell speaking about that. I think the AI thing you're looking for is AI dungeon which I believe is free and is essentially trained from a bunch of literary samples to respond to prompts. I.e. you tell it what you do and it tells you what happens like an old school text adventure.

I play a Kenku and while I can only speak in mimicry, I have to flavor my text to sound LIKE things other players have said. If I'm trying to intimidate I say "In *the barbarians* voice, the bird says..." Or when trying to provide insight, *in the wizards voice* blah blah. I can piece together words however, it just has to kind of be clipped and role played as others. Which is fun and I love!
