In TMNT 2: secret of the ooze shedder does basically kill himself with the dock. Because of backlash by parents groups to the first movie being violent, the turtles NEVER USE their weapons in the second movie and most fight scenes are very cartoon like

Lil poetry info: Live/Nips is a slant rhyme, yes. But it's also an example of assonance, which is maybe what Murph was trying to think of? Where the vowel sounds in the middle of the words are similar, even though the consonants on either side of the vowel in both words are different.

This week's episode and short rest were a therapy sesh. Thanks guys. The poetic/literary divice where the vowels in stressed syllables are the same, but the endings of the words are different, is called assonance. Also commonly known as a slant rhyme.

A little side note, there is in fact a TMNT villain that is basically the Turtle Catcher! The Earth Protection Force, or EPF, is an MIB-esque organization wants to capture the turtles for being (what they believe to be) aliens! They are lead by John Bishop, who would by all accounts be the 'turtle catcher' in the scenario. Sincerely, a turt fan

My mother died and my sister (also Emily!) was diagnosed with late stage brain cancer this year. Needless to say, it’s been a very bad year for me and my family, and Emily’s point about just sincerely saying “I’m sorry” to someone experiencing something awful really rang true. I’ve spoken to my therapist many times about how badly some people in my life have reacted to it, and how what I’ve always appreciated the most is just someone sincerely telling me they’re sorry I’m going through this. It means so much and it’s such a little thing to say.

There's a whole episode of Parks and Rec where a character learns to say "That sucks" instead of offering solutions to his SO's problems. It really is about the best response (at least for an initial response) - it validates the person's feelings!

This is so late but I’m listening to this short rest for my second relisten of C3 and I don’t remember if Murph ever definitively stated why they couldn’t bring back Ol’ Cobb after his hinting about it in this short rest??? Anyone with a better memory able to point me to this or is it just a loose thread in the wind?

I know this comment is two or so years old, but I sincerely hope you’re doing better now, as someone who’s dealt with similar kinds of grief, saying “it gets better” becomes kind of meaningless after a while. So instead I’ll say, I’m sorry this has happened to you, and you’re doing your best, and that’s all you need to do. Focus on one day at a time.
