Declane Gilhooley

Dam!! 1130 here in Ontario, now I have someone to listen to while I travel the stars tonight.

Declane Gilhooley

Also on my 4th play thought of the pod, on C2E3!!!

Mich Blackie

I can’t wait to find out wtf is up with that super cute picture 😂

Hyena

Love the description, absolutely incomprehensible

Crangar’s Little Helper

I haven’t listen to this episode yet but it’s so good to see Murph’s face in the thumbnail.

Myc Giaco

The short rest energy is strong in this one 😂

DM Dennis

We will need a better picture of that bookcase and it’s contents 👀

Tyler

Week 2 of waiting for the Sweet Blue Hole cut

Courtney W

Despite the fact they had no real discernible personalities or differences in the original Ducktales, I too am a Louie stan. Truly the superior duck. Of course Murph would see the obviousness of this irrefutable fact.

Anderson Lanham

absolutely off the rails, we love to see it folks

Zoe

This is the cutest picture of Murph ever taken

Martin Paluoja

Jesus Christ the ducktales case is just unlistenable

Mr. Dude Sky

I don’t understand them sometimes. It says right in the rules that they read that constant actions like constantly rolling active perception is just folded into passive perception. They contradicted themselves in the next sentence and spent the rest of that case reinforcing why it would be passive, but came to the conclusion that it is active constantly. They are so difficult to follow sometimes.

Rafael C

PLEASE!! also naturally Caldwell should DM (or Emily, now that I think about it... or guest DM!)

Sorcha O’D

I did not believe there was going to be an actual duck and was so happily suprised

Rafael C

I think maybe for the Witch Coven DM, they could've looked at some Hags abilities, there might have been something there for the DM to use as an excuse to get his Hag out of there? idk though (regardless naturally I agree w the ruling!) And for the Map-Perception case, I assume they might not have wanted to raise suspicion/"metagaming" by asking for an active perception check, so is there a world where they just ask that player for a "luck check" and add their perception stuff in secret? I'm not sure if DMs usually have a copy of their players character sheets, but I've heard some do, so maybe that could've worked (?). All in all great episode no notes (Duckberg One-Shot pls)

thomas musgrave

the whole problem of the case is that it can easily be argued either way, so they were looking at both sides of it. It honestly just depends on what lens youre looking through for whether its passive or active.

Sarah Sullivan

T-Rexes in theory would have used their tails to stand back up, since their tails were like super strong extra limbs for balance, and a majority of their body length. -Dino Lover 🦖

Seasquidley

Literally so insane to suggest that a T Rex never LAID DOWN?! How did they sleep? What is that DM even talking about??

Jared Miller

Beetle bailiff didn't come up?

Nalyd

Fundamentally the point of the game is to have fun. Getting ambushed can be fun. Losing the MacGuffin without a roll or even finding out until next day is not fun.

Nalyd

So fun fact about dinosaurs: We DO know a little something about their musculature. Certain bone structures are usually muscle attachment sites, so based on the size of those structures, comparison to living species, and evolutionary relationships, paleontologists have worked out a lot of information about dinosaur muscles.

Lia

Life is like a hurricane here in Duckberg. Race cars, lasers, aeroplanes, it's a duck-blur! Might solve a mystery, or REWRITE HISTORY! DUCKTALES, WOO-OO!

Persephone's Tavern

I don't know that I've ever laughed so hard during a Court episode. Truly gutbusting!

Verdigree

The Duck/McDuck family tree is really something, Scrooge was born in 1867, making him 156 years old, and not only that, his parents are alive and well, living in Scotland

A.J.

as a starbucks barista people surprisingly don't steal drinks that much! and the thefts that do happen are mostly done by the oldest people imaginable, so i assume they're just confused

Avi Rubinoff

I think the Crit got the case of the stolen map wrong. The fundamental rule of skill checks is that you only roll one if success is possible. The PC in this situation had created a scenario where it would be impossible for someone to remove the map from their person without them noticing, so the NPC should not have been able to make a roll. The PC should have simply automatically noticed them making the attempt.

FrogKnight

Why am I not surprised that Caldwell has a (incredibly cursed) Donald/Heroic Huey/ Lazy Louie/ Blue Nephew impression

Cat C

The Murph and Louie pic is so freaking cute. Murph looks so happy. :)

Jake de Medeiros

As a dinosaur guy, the T-Rex case was *infuriating*

Hymntastic

I love these podcasts but I swear they do fewer and fewer every episode. What they got through three cases this episode lol

Jack Campau

the “Childhood Louie” took me out

Betsinat Chambers

Unfair immunities, burrowing beetles, stolen map, the fallen T-Rex, Huey, Dewey, and Louie AND the confession of the false failure. Can you count?

OGBlake

Caldwell you're delulu thinking you could swallow dirt to make mouth room, you wouldn't be able to even move your jaw

SneakyTweaky

Emily, I'm not gay, but I will be stealing and marrying your husband. It's nothing personal.

Samwell54

Humble bailiff Jake, they keep you lowly not because you are weak but because you are TOO strong.

William Bowen

I agree with the sentiment if not the math. I normally like the random antics but the duck trio bit went on so long I literally forgot every case they had up to that point.

Gavin Lippitt

this is the most frustrating episode of dnd court, i’ve worked with flintstones but this was unbearable

Dan Hudson

I think science has proven that a t-rex prone. How many fossils of t-rex's are found standing? Seems like they all died while prone to me. 👀

Tim

So many good quotes during the “duck tales” section. Jake: “I’m editing a document.” Murph: “Louie’s my guy.”

Crits

Starbucks barista here. People steal the drinks at handoff all the time and then we have to remake them for free. It is the bane of my existence

Xander M

I love the short rest energy of this episode

Goggalor

100%. It's a case of people being too "video game minded" with DnD. The brain immediately goes to "Well that's something that would be in someone's inventory when pickpocketing." The player essentially made themselves a kidnapping/KO target instead of a pickpocket target.

Jay Rieve

Emily, I'm sorry. What is a "nine of cat tails?"

Libbi Longworth

I love Richard Scarry books...they're the most useful to read with kids when you're teaching them stuff

WhiteZerko

I need to speak on that T-Rex case. Does that DM think that T-Rexes DON'T SLEEP??! DO THEY THINK THESE SHREDDED LIZARDS JUST LIVE A CURSED EXISTENCE, WHERE GOING TO SLEEP MEANS CERTAIN DOOM?!?! WOULDN'T THAT SHIT HAVE EVOLVED ITSELF OUT OF EXISTENCE WITHIN A SINGLE GENERATION?!?!?!

Doleth

I'm hoping for a Dragonbane all Mallard One Shot now

JumpTrash

dont you mean sweet blue nephew?

Robert

I haven’t stolen from Starbucks - but I do make a mobile order at Dunkin every morning. I’ve had my coffee stolen once and the Dunkies people replaced it. It’s pretty safe overall I think.

Maggie Schaller

I’m currently a law student, and two weeks ago I ordered Starbucks mobile order at 8:25 to pick up while walking to my 9:20 class. When I got there at 8:45, my food was ready but drink was not and Starbucks staff told me it was coming. I waited until 9:10, and staff then told me someone had probably stolen it. They did make me another, but it does ruin a morning, for sure.

SoupLightning

The pathetic slug who wishes he could be someone's worm wife, Bailiff Flake

sarfs

Duck Tales one shot when?

tiger

the episode both opened and closed with caldwell being told to shut up. the disrespect

fletcher

i had the oldest man in the world try to take a frap once and he ordered a chai, i stopped him before he could get far or drink out of it which was good but like mannn did you forget what you ordered two minutes ago?

A.J.

LITERALLY. it's always like a tall black pike place vs a venti caramel crunch and then theyre like "this isn't mine" like no shit

S

I’d rather drink dip spit then ever listen to Caldwell make duck voice while while wearing headphones

Jake’s jerk jelly #CCC

I’m so late. But fuck I love when Murph the one to get off the rails. This man and his duck 🤣🤣🤣

TheTimePig

In my job, ch stands for character, so I've always read it as character Murph 🤣

Paxton

I’m not gonna lie I don’t follow

I have stolen the sweet blue hole

Arturo

Skwaiter. That is all.

2026-09-05 07:00 On the drink theft question: having worked at DD in HS which ye if not Starbucks but has essentially the same drink pickup set up&level of personal accountability&ease of theft, I was genuinely shocked by how uncommon drink theft was. I worked abt 12-15 hrs a week for roughly two years and in the entire time I was there, there was truly only one instance where a drink that I was 100% had been made and set out went missing and there was no unaccounted drink or or yet made drink order left in its stead. The most common “drink theft” we dealt w/ was customers accidentally grabbing the wrong drink, and then realizing as much upon sipping it. Some of them were genuinely mortified by their mistake and super apologetic but sadly most such situation were entitled assholes who IMMEDIATELY after ordering, grabbed someone else’s drink and then complained that we’d gotten their drink wrong. Occasionally, drinks that we were certain we’d made and set out did go missing but save for the one time I mentioned above, there was always either an unaccounted for drink or a drink order that upon its creation, went unclaimed, left in the missing drinks wake. All that said, I will say that occasionally a Larger sized speciality latte or some other one of our pricier drinks that we’d def made&set out, went missing and the drink left in its wake would be a notably smaller, simpler and cheaper drink— ya know like something ranging b/w a a small black hot coffee and “a regular coffee”(Med hot coffee w 2 cream, 2 sugar) which is kinda innately sus. And I mean ok, I will say; when the order was a med or large hot drink and a med coffee was left unaccounted for, that while the notable price dif was enough to make me question how unintentional the mixup truly was, the drinks looked similiar enough externally that it def coulda been an innocent mistake HOWEVER, there were like idk prolly 3, maaaybe 4(?) instances where I’m damn near positive that the person intentionally took someone else’s better/much pricier order bc the missing drink was either (A) A large or XL and the ordered drink was a small. Honestly a 2+ size dif from a medium was also incredibly sus but w a small it was imo, damning bc how dif the small hot cups and their lids were From all the other sizes: OR(and this was def the main giveaway) (B) cold and thus anotably dif temperature, in an entirely different cup, and generally speaking was visibly, obviously and fundamentally v much not drip coffee, iced or otherwise

Summer Tribe

strongly disagree with the initial take on the stolen map under the clothes. if you don't allow players to do something that isn't possible why are you letting NPCs do it? sometimes a thing can't be done. in the same way that even a 35 on persuasion isn't enough to convince a king to give you their kingdom that a 35 on sleight of hand isn't going to let you steal something on the other side of a wall

Jason Sherman

They should have called Ben Schwartz as their phone a friend to straighten out the Duck Tales mess.
