Does anyone here have a partner that also plays Magic? My partner isn't really interested in Magic, so I'm super curious--how do you manage your respective collections? Do you liberally mix your collections or do you try to keep them separate?

My partner is the one who taught me the game 😊 He already had a big collection, and I was "allowed" to use his cards to make decks (mainly Commander), so I never really felt like I had my own collection, nor did I feel the need to start one separately. We are now at a stage where we don't play Magic anymore, but we still keep the collection, and think we might play again, but more in a nostalgic way, not to get new cards, just to play our favorite Commanders again. And that would also be the only thing that I would consider as my own, not as part of the whole collection: my first "real" Commander deck: Linvala (angels) 😅

Cool, thanks for sharing. It's nice having a few Commander decks like that to bring out at any time for a game. It's almost like having a board game to play.

When I've seen other partners both play magic, this is what I normally see. One person has the big collection, and the partner gets into it through that person, and they build commander decks etc... for their partner to play. However, I did see a couple pool their collection together to build a cube. That couple isn't together anymore, don't know what happened to the cube. XD

Unrelated to the topic, but I have a version of "Kinky Jinky". Same mana cost and stats as Kiki-Jiki, but with the following abilities: (Give a spanking) tap, deal 2 damage to target creature, player, or Planeswalker. (Tie me up!) 2, tap, put a stun counter on target creature. (Gag me!) 4, tap, target player can't cast spells until their next turn. You can't target the same player two turns in a row.
