As I was drawing this, I was trying to recall what typal decks I've built in the past. The main ones I could think of were goblins and zombies during the Onslaught era (also built my son a goblin Krenko Commander deck at one point) and elves for Legacy. So not a lot. Given my affinity for blue and tempo decks, you would have thought I had built a merfolk deck at some point, but I guess not. What are your thoughts on typal decks? Fun? Too linear?

Beasts, Birds, and all 10 tribes from Bloomhaven are typal decks I've built recently, and many others older than that. It is perhaps because I started in Onslaught, but Tribal decks are fun (when they aren't too samey like elves, goblins, or dragons.)

My first commander deck was monowhite Angels 😇 Loved it, although it wasn't super successful 😅

I'm a Vorthos, so a majority of decks I play are typal.

Every time I see the word 'typal', I think of it as a typo of the word 'tribal'.

'Tipal' is a typo of 'typal', not to be confused with 'tibal' which is a typo of 'tribal'. What about 'Tribble'? That's Star Trek, which we will see later this year.

I wonder if angels are better more recently. They've printed some cheaper angels like Giada, right?

Unfortunately I haven't played in years, and I didn't/don't follow what's new, so I'm clueless at this point 😅🫣

I have a Bracket 4 Mono Green Druids deck that is pretty good at mass land denial that I like. Most of my decks are bracket 3 though. I also love Zombies, Rats, Hydras, Elementals, Leviathans and Clerics.

My 9yo daughter has claimed all of my best cat and dog cards.
