Finally got some time to draft Zendikar Rising tonight. First picked Roost of Drakes. This card is *insane*. I think it's better than many of the rares. Anyway, this is how my deck ended up:

I can't believe I got 2x Lullmage's Familiar and 2x Cunning Geysermage. This deck has been super fun. So much value!

Here's the final screen after my first match:

and this was after a bunch of my drake tokens had just died. So far I'm 4-0 and every game I finished with more than 20 life. I'd like to keep going because I'm on such a hot streak, but I need to get to bed. Hopefully my luck continues when I come back to the deck tomorrow!

I'll have you know I did a draft on mtga right after reading this the other day, and I was passed no less than SIX risen riptides in one draft. That was a fun deck! I think this post was good luck hahaha

Nice! Risen Riptide can hit hard, especially in multiples. I think part of the fun of the kicker deck is that it naturally has both early and late plays. Last night and I drafted it again and I was passed three Into the Roil—and all of them were full art too for extra style points!

My game plan managed to be consistent because of the sheer number of riptides. I had I think 3 cleric of chill depths to slow any early aggro and I basically dropped Riptides on turns 3-5 while hiding behind the sheer bulk of 2 or 3 0/5 creatures and from turn 6 on I had enough kicker cards I could basically consistently swing and kick something every turn. Definitely a weird draft but it was really fun! Haha now I'm wishing I got passed any into the roils like you, all my kicker spells were pretty expensive

I like how arena sorts stuff up better than I could lol I'd never imagine separating my lands by tapped/untapped let alone color.
