Hello, my dear friends, I’m back!!!!

This will probably be a long post!

It’s been a long few weeks... so where do I even begin?

First, there was the laptop.

I honestly don’t know exactly what happened to it. It started freezing so badly that it became impossible to work. Maybe because I was using it without a battery, dust got somewhere it shouldn’t have... I really don’t know. I just know it was becoming a nightmare.

So I had the brilliant idea of taking it in for a full cleaning.

Well... the genius who cleaned it didn’t back up some folders that contained my latest artwork.

"There wasn’t enough space on the drive, and nothing indicated those folders were important..."

Needless to say, that hit me pretty hard. Just like that, more than two weeks of drawings were gone.

Right after that, I got another abscess in my groin, which meant pain, antibiotics, and several days of rest.

At that point, I was honestly pretty discouraged.

Then my dad told me that if this really is my dream, if I really want to work “with this,” then I should go after it and not let setbacks beat me.

So, to summarize:

I took out a loan.

Good news?

I got a new PC!!

Bad news???

I also got about $5k in debt. D:

Okay, a little less than that... but let’s round up for dramatic effect.

Still... I managed to build the PC I wanted.

My first thought was basically: "Well, if I’m going into debt anyway, I might as well build a beast of a PC!!!"

I didn’t get the absolute top parts on the market, but it’s a good computer. I can’t deny that.

Now...

My old Ford Escort is basically on the chopping block if I can’t make enough money over the next few months...

It’s pretty much all I have. :’]

But hey... faith.

With your support, I’m sure I’ll be able to pay off the PC and save my little car!

Of course, getting the loan, signing the paperwork, buying the computer, and waiting for everything to arrive took a while.

But the PC finally arrived this week, and I’ve been testing a bunch of new things.

One of them is AI frame interpolation.

Some of the results are honestly hilarious and kind of cursed. I don’t know yet if I’ll actually be able to use it for the game.

As you can probably tell, my art style is a bit different from what’s common in this kind of game. I don’t want to give you those generic-looking images that technically work, but in the end all look the same.

Nothing against that style. A lot of those drawings are beautiful.

But it’s not something I know how to do, and I’d feel bad using a style that doesn’t feel like mine.

That said, if I manage to get something that still feels like my style, I might consider using AI to speed up the work and bring you more content.

Especially because AI can generate videos, and that would be much faster for Captain Flash to put into the game than the 650+ images he’s currently having to program, organize, and make work.

And on top of that, part of the text ended up in his hands too.

So if it’s bad, blame him.

Well... it’s not like I’m Shakespeare either.

And to finish off my unspoken adventures, this week I had to take my dad to the hospital twice — once because of his chronic migraines, and another time after he hurt his hand at work and it got infected.

The man just can’t catch a break in this life...

But he’s doing better now, and that’s what matters.

I know this kind of thing isn’t exactly game news, but these are the little unpredictable things that happen in everyday life. They steal time and focus whether we want them to or not, and in the end, that affects the project too.

So I thought it was worth mentioning.

Other than that, I’ve been reading The King in Yellow, The Woman with the Velvet Necklace, and last week I started reading Moby-Dick.

What a slow book...

It’s good...

But it’s slow...

But it’s good.

Anyway, my reading habits probably aren’t the most interesting topic, but if you want to share a book you like, the comment section is right there. I’d love to know!

I also watched Spider-Noir. I liked it!

Those were basically the things I did to pass the time.

But I feel like I’ve already talked too much...

I do like writing, don’t I?

Anyway, to finish this post, in a few days I’ll make a poll about AI.

I don’t want to use that kind of tool without your support, especially because I know it’s a controversial subject. Some people like it, some people hate it.

I’m on team “I don’t really mind.”

But why in a few days?

Because I still don’t have good results with AI yet.

With all that said...

I’m back!

Bone for Soup!

P.S. ❤️ Thank you for waiting for me and still being here supporting us.

Was Cap'n Flash still here?

Yeah... he was.

But I think he got kind of overloaded.

Anyway, we’re back to normal!!!

Wow that sounds like a lot, sorry you went through that but I'm glad you at least got a PC you are happy with but it does suck you lost some progress. I wish y'all all the best though! I'm sure whenever we get the update it will be super worth it!

I’m glad things are starting to look up, but with the drawing gone how much of a set back will it be to the next up date?

Bone For Soup

This update won't be affected at all. It's just taking a bit longer because it's heavily focused on Alison, and everything related to her is brand new. As for the upcoming updates, I'm working on recreating what was lost. Don't worry though—I think it's going to turn out really well! I'll make a post about it next week!

I have gold membership but the gold hints in the game are locked? How do I free them. I tried Discord but got no reply so trying here now.

Bone For Soup

Hey! Sorry you didn’t get a reply on Discord. To unlock the Gold perks/hints: 1- Go to the Patreon post called “Gold pass for v0.X” (the version of the game you're playing). 2- Copy the passphrase from that post. 3- In-game, open the MC’s cellphone → Patron App. 4- Paste the passphrase and activate it. 5- Then toggle the Gold perks/hints switch on. That should do it. Let me know if it still doesn’t work after that and I’ll help you troubleshoot.
