Interest in the vampire story WIP? (additional content)
- Yes, I'd like to read the vampire WIP 38
- No, wait until it's finished and then post it regularly, chapter by chapter 15
- Not interested anyway 1
So I posted on Tumblr a little while ago that I was inspired to create a vampire 'OC' from the Skryim Dawnguard DLC, and I've started writing it. It's not polished in its current state, but it's got about 8k words, and a couple of chapters.
It's 3rd person (not reader insert) and follows the story of Kjartan, the youngest child of the vampire Lord Harkon (basically a very powerful vampire). He's lived at Castle Volkihar for all his 200 or so years, never leaving and very much under the harsh rule of his father. Until, that is, his older sister, Serana, returned to the castle with the Dragonborn and put his father's stupid plans to become even stronger to rest.
Serana encourages Kjartan to travel Skyrim and discovers that he has some magical prowess, if not anything like her own. He decides to see if the College of Winterhold will admit him, and goes along, where the story begins. There, he meets a young Nord woman called Nora, and the two strike up a friendship, bonding over an archaeology trip to the ancient and buried city of Sarthaal, and quickly developing feelings (and some moderate drama) from there... It will feature vampires (duh), nerding about archaeology, some nsfw content, some blood drinking (but not lots), some angst, a bit of injury, some adorably horrific death hounds (seriously, look, they're kinda gross but really cute!), and a happy ending...
If it sounds like something you'd give a quick read (in addition to all the Mermay content), then let me know! I can't guarantee how quickly it'll be finished, given that there's Mermay plus Winter Solstice, and the Ashridge Pack stuff still going on, as well as the ongoing monthly stories etc. But anyway... feel free to comment below as well if you have anything you want to add.
Finally, I hope you're enjoying all the Mermay content - in just the stories published so far, you've had 22, 118 words for this month's subscription! And there are still two more to come!! Thanks to those of you who have left likes and comments on the posts - it means the world to me when you let me know you're enjoying my content!! Let me know if there's something you want to see up here that I'm not doing, and if you think it's a good idea, I might do an anonymous feedback form via Google to get your thoughts on how my Patreon is going with the new reduced tier format...
Anyway, get voting on the vampire!
