What are the limitations you’re facing in your workflow?
First of all, the processing runs very slowly. Even though I have a 4090, it’s still a consumer-grade graphics card. This kind of dynamic video work actually requires professional-grade GPUs and systems, like L40, H100, and the like. For example, generating a static image takes me about 10 seconds, but an animated one takes nearly 3 minutes. And on top of that, you have to deal with the randomness of generation—if you make 8 animated clips, at most 2 of them will be passable. That means it takes about 30 minutes to get just 1 or 2 decent animated clips. Well… in the end, it all comes down to the slow processing speed. That’s why computer hardware and graphics cards are getting more expensive worldwide right now… anything related to AI demands massive computing power.
For the time being, I’ll focus mainly on comics and stories, using GIFs as a supplement to make the comics more engaging. As for producing longer animated videos, I don’t have the conditions for that right now—first, the hardware isn’t sufficient, and second, the learning curve is a bit too steep in terms of time investment.
