End of an era.

It's been over seven years, I believe, since this commission was first pitched to me. I did not expect what I thought to be a one shot to balloon into a 27 chapter story, let alone one that took a decade to tell.

I'm proud of it. Clearly my most popular commissioned story, and I can say I'm happy with the results that came from it. A thank you to Omegalock for coming to me with this piece.

HCTB Final Chapter

So this is how the mighty fall. Riser Phenix had it all. Power, wealth, immortality, but in one fell swoop, all of that was taken from him by perhaps his greatest adversary ever: the woman he made marry him, whom he believed he took control away from, Rias Gremory.

It's been a long ride. A few things to point out: 1. So Riser was left in his cell for a few years before Akeno decided to torture him? 2. Personally speaking, I believe you should've involved the Gremory clan/Rias' parents in the plot, at least in this epilogue; I believe they owe Rias a massive apology and restitution/compensation for condemning her into a loveless and insufferable marriage with Riser. 3. Last but not least - a little bird told me there is an alternative, darker ending of HCTB. Is that true?

1. I don't remember the actual length of time. 2. Probably, but these were the things the client prioritized so that's where we went. You still have Sirzechs to wrap things otherwise. 3. The client has said before that was the plan. Nothing has come to fruition since then, however, and I have no clue when they'll commission next.
