So this was my attempt at a 'how-to' feature exploring my painful creative process, which contains way more steps than anyone else's creative process, because I'm (a) a Luddite and (b) a moron.

Anyway, it's also the only time I've put up pictures of me in connection to the comic. Not that that's a selling feature or anything, but yeah.

You don't use reference? I find that amazing.

Bill Taylor

And you also looking like a fine, upstanding citizen.

ElectricGecko

It's laziness. Pure laziness. It also explains why I frequently go off-model on my own characters. I don't even bother with a ref sheet. The finished product suffers for it, but I'm so slow at drawing, if I had to look up ref pics for every pose, I'd never get anything done.

ElectricGecko

We all do, don't we? How little people can tell the depths of our weirdness from our faces...

Now, now, don't take this the wrong way, or let it go to your head, but you're way too handsome (I said it, ok?) to be any kind of Internet Idol for nerds.

Now, I don't recommended piercings, tattoos, or anything else that sticks out in a Police Lineup, but something must be done.

How about this ?

R U earning extra income as a Hat-Model ?

ElectricGecko

No squid hat. If it makes it any better, I am wearing a shirt for a nerdy video game comedy band in that picture. I have true 'social outcast' street cred. Honest.

SalemCat

Ok, ok, I'm buying your tale.

Who am I to judge.

And it's still one hell of a nice hat.

Just sayin'.
