I absolutely loved this episode. It was just a lot of fun, and made me desperate for 1x7 to come out immediately based on the way it ended. I've really enjoyed the show overall, but hadn't felt fully "hooked" yet. This is the episode that I think finally fully hooked me.

been waiting on this one. saw it twice already. so good. the giant headf**k of Carol learning everyone is cool with slurping people and she's the one out of line. and oh "btw we are all friends who hang out and we ghosted you." But Carol is not safe. They have her frozen eggs. There's a huge loophole there with what they promised her. They said they would not get the cells from her body. Never said anything about using the eggs to make embryos to get the stem cells. and laying a finger on her doesn't stop a kiss. The ceiling of the penthouse was the painting of God creating Adam by Michelangelo. Also love the cinematography here. The use of reflections. And HDP also meant Hijo de Puta. Manu said his mom was a bitch. P.S. on the radio guy he was scanning the spectrum of the bandwidth his radio could receive in increments. leaving it on each one for a few seconds. Listening for whatever. People, them, etc. It seems like he found one freq with traffic on it but couldn't decode it or clean it up enough to understand it. Probably the limitations of his equipment. But he seems fairly knowledgeable and resourceful and prepared for things with the stash of cash and stuff. he will have to catch a boat or plane eventually there are no roads connecting South and Central America where he is. Them not wanting robots tells me this is not a biological we are dealing with. (human slaves are okay but not robots?) It uses rna to transmit but I think it's code and we got hacked.

Nikki I love your idea of genetic pre-disoposition due to ancestral traits. What if these 12 are descendants of refugees from this signal? Like in the Twilight Zone episode?

As far as I took it is when the Pirate lady first said that when the government figured out what they were doing they were doing to the human race they had to escalate, which was all the jets releasing the virus. You pointed out a interesting contradiction as they said they cant hurt people or any living thing but at the same they killed many in taking that action. Which tells me they see the human race like it needs saving into their collective and so if they are pushed will go against that if they see that as saving the most people in their minds (minds)

Sorry to comment again but another thing that the pirate lady said to explain why they are doing all this was (this isn't 141) : if you saw a person drowning in a river wouldn't you throw them a life preserver? So in their crazy logic they are trying to save as many people as possible and to not act would let us drown and die anyway. As for the 13 who didn't get effected they aren't drowning...they are on a 'raft' say, by the logic of the others and so they are still stuck on the river but to not drowning so they have to convince they to come ashore (which might work on some of them). At the moment the only way is get them to consent is being shot with a harpoon gun and dragged in...but in time they find a way that doesn't hurt them and they will see this a drowning person refusing to be saved.

Couple cool things that I learned: 1.) The head Carol found in the cold storage is actually a bust of Vince Gilligan's head. 2.) They said they can't take her stem cells without her consent BUT if you remember in the 2nd episode when they showed Helen and Carol in the ice hotel Carol said that it was so cold in there she could have stored her eggs in there and saved money (that is a foreshadow) cuz the hive could collect those eggs and get her stem cells that way. 3.) when Carol spoke with Manusos (paraguay dude) on the phone when she was on the plane she called him a "son of a bitch" in spanish, and in this episode Manusos told that woman "you're not my mother, my mother is a bitch"

"Pluribus" means "many" or "from many" in Latin, closely tied to the U.S. motto "E Pluribus Unum", symbolizing the 13 colonies forming one nation. It can't be a coincidence that there's 13 people unaffected. So i wonder if the 13 survivors need to form a hive mind (Nation) of their own.

It's a stretch, BUT... Will Sturka was the name of a character in an old Twilight Zone episode, "Third from the Sun". Long story short, he takes his family on a space ship to leave Earth to go to another planet to keep them safe from a possible nuclear war. The twist at the end, the whole time you think Sturka is on Earth and trying to escape to another planet, but he's actually on another planet and escapes to Earth. So, I'm thinking, maybe, the 13 people are descendants of Will Sturka, an alien, and because of that, something in their DNA is not 'human' and prevented them from getting sucked into the hive mind. Just a crazy theory, not sure if it's what I believe but who knows!

To answer your question Nikki they didn’t get consent. They just infected everybody originally without their consent. It just so happened a few of them were immune for some reason. That’s why the whole carol supposed to ask zosia for her consent is just thrown out the window. And has to do what she has too.

Just because I was curious I googled if you can drive from Paraguay to New Mexico. It is possible but you have to cross something called the Darien Gap which is a roadless jungle between Columbia and Panama. So at some point he's gonna need a ferry or boat. Also the trip takes about 2 weeks straight, so maybe it might take him 3-4 weeks depending on how often he stops. On a different note, if the hive's food source is eventually going to run out doesn't that mean the survivor's would as well? Unless they learn to grow their own food and raise/butcher their own meat? At some point in the next 10 years everyone's gonna be screwed...
