It's been a while since we did this the last time, but we'd love to hear your suggestions of what y'all think would make for good topics for future Bracket Battles episodes. This is not the formal poll where y'all pick, this is just for dropping some fun ideas in the comments. We'll circle up and narrow the list down before doing the formal poll with Patreon subscribers on what topics we're gonna do next.

Thanks folks! You rock!

Elias Helfer

Best silent protagonist. Rubrics might be: - manages to get their character across - feels most natural that we never hear them speak Someone else mentioned it, but best soundtrack Most believable heel or face turn Best mini-game Greatest romance in a video game

Metal Gear Solidarity

Best boss your not supposed to beat but actually you can beat them it turns out

Daniel Urban

Best game to teach a new gamer (probably kids but could be adults) how to play games and what games are about. I started on NES so i got slowly introduced to 95 buttons/triggers/sticks very gradually, but introducing younger folks has been strange as they try to grasp all of the disparate potential movements simultaneously.

Ben C

Best side quest

SakuraMew

Best game for autumn (fall) - and I don’t mean about just spooky season, but more so that transition into cooler weather, more rain, and more time spent inside!! Best Christmas gift game (could have something about if the game has that enlightening, life changing experience or would you be the be the best family member/ friend to gift said game due to the experience they have with the game) Best farming or even just life sim game?

Mims

- Best gift for the gamer who's played everything (these are hidden gems that didn't get the attention they deserved) - Best game to play to unwind after work by perfectly simulating your job - Most respectful of your time (or best bang for your buck or most fun per hour or whatever - the games that are short but great or long but never feel like a slog) - Best thinky game (or Metroidbrainia) - Best game that you could play for the rest of your life (I guess this is the same as "best desert island game" but I'm thinking like Tetris, League of Legends, Balatro, etc)

Mims

- Best game within a game (shout out gwent & triple triad) - Dead genres that need a reboot - Worst powerup - Special bracket: Game mascot Fuck, Marry Kill

Mims

- It's 1994. You're staying at a Ramada Inn for your cousin's wedding. Your parents are busy with family shit. The pool is closed. "This hella blows," you think, but next to the bar (smoking permitted ofc) is a game room. What 5 arcade cabinets are going to turn this situation around?

amesville

Zach

Not sure it’s a bracket style but I would love to hear everyone’s top 10 favorite games of all time and explain why

Scott Vesely

This might be more Post Games in tone, but I’m curious about the best games that present art that couldn’t exist in another medium. My go-to example is The Talos Principle, which presented the concepts of self, iteration, and recursion not only in story but also resonantly in gameplay. Are the other games you’ve all played that did a better job exploring a message/concept than any other art form could have?

Connor

Best cutscene or best performance in games

Sam Milne

Best Search Action Games (CSoTN, Hollow Knight, Metroid Dread) Best Console Accessories (Powerglove, Wii Fit, PS VR, VMU) Best Train Sequence in a Game

Victor Hart

Best Mario 64 level to live in Best unlockable costume Best end game unlock that isn't useful because you already beat the game Best side quest

Best Hub Area Examples - Peach's Castle — Mario 64 - Firelink Shrine — Dark Souls - Astera — Monster Hunter: Worlds Potential rubric - Which is most useful in-game? - Which is most interweaved into the story/lore? - Tiebreaker: Which makes you feel most at home?

Brandon Wood

Battle Bracket: Alternate Bosses A showdown of gaming’s ultimate optional challenges. Think superbosses like Ruby Weapon from Final Fantasy VII. Think post-game legends like Trainer Red from Pokémon Gold/Silver. Think nightmare fights like Sans from Undertale. These are the battles that test skill, patience, and sanity. The ones that redefine you as a gamer. Optional? Technically. Unforgettable? Absolutely.

y0j1m80

Best mini game even though we all know it’s Triple Triad Best Bayou game

kazookle

Best Hub Worlds (Mario 64’s castle, Destiny’s tower, etc.)

Alfredo

Best Video Game Couple

Alex Duplessie

Best thief/crime game (aka 'Stealing the show'): Sly Cooper, Grand Theft Auto, Thief, Red Dead Redemption 2, REPO, Pay Day 2, Sea of Thieves, Uncharted: Honor Among Thieves, Persona 5 (phantom thieves), Monaco, Skyrim

Alex Duplessie

Best video game sidekick. Who would be most useful in real life, who makes you look the coolest, and makes for the best roommate. Some potential options: Tails from Sonic, Ashley from Resident Evil, Dogmeat from Fallout, Atreus from God of War, Esquie from Expedition 33, Cortana from Master Chief, etc.

Sam Milne

Best starting weapons! Complimentary to the Best Best* Weapon And best kids game

Jared Lovie

Best video games to learn how to play video games. I've got a 2.5 year old who will start playing games with me in the next couple of years. What are the essential games he needs to play? Likewise, I've got a partner who doesn't really play games. What games does she need to play in order to understand video games better? Is there a game that encapsulates what video games are?

dummy bunny

Best Russ Character from the beginning of the show - there's some problematic favs 😂

DoctorButt

I think instead of the Bracket format, they should do a Shark Tank style episode. They can pitch their best or silliest gaming ideas. Something like a full on game pitch, or a new game mechanic or genre, or new gaming accessories or technology.

Ryan Giglio

Something like best Doctor in video games maybe?

Chris Bobb

Best mini game inside a full game. Not counting games that are nothing but a collection of mini games.

y0j1m80

Best beach town in a game!

Ben Pierce

What souls boss would make the worst pet

Initial Contact

Best weed games/podcast games. Games to play while zoning out

Jason Mariotis

Best exploitable glitch (like going off nap in blood gulch in the first Halo, or the item duplication in Pokémon red/blue)

starla

best game world to vacation in

Ethan C. F. 🐇

Best franchise that wasn't. Games that never got sequels (or only got one) and then disappeared. I think n64/ps1 through xbox/gc/ps2 era are rife with these. Dr. Muto, Blast Corps, Jade Empire...

yaoibunga

Best In-World Card Game (Queen's Blood, Gwent, etc.); Best In-World Sport (Blitzball, the Rites in Pyre, etc.)

jemmylegs

Best photo mode / best game world for photo mode
