Bless you for this. Loved it. It's based on a Youtube web series, by the director of this film. Well worth the reaction, as it will answer your questions and create some new ones. The concept of the transfer from one real world to backrooms, is called 'no-clip'. A gaming term, where you glitch past a wall or floor, to beyond where the programmers didn't bother to fill, cuz nobody is supposed to see it. There are some recreations put to games, even VR (which I've played, and changed my underwear to).

Ohh thank you i will definitely watch the web series! I have so many questions hahaha

just juni 🚬

Watched this in theaters twice, as a huge fan of the director since the beginning of his youtube days, Im truly so proud of him. Kane Parsons is a true artist, he created the viral backrooms web series through 3d modeling using blender, when he was just 16 years old. I was the same age as him when he dropped backrooms, and I had started getting into blender to create custom clothes for my sims game, he was a true inspiration to me. Even though they are two completely different things, his creativity and talent pushed me to continue trying to be better at 3d modeling. I also just thought the web series was sick, the concept of the backrooms has always been so intriguing to me and Kane executes his vision perfectly. Basically im saying I am very biased towards this concept and the director already, so of course I absolutely loved this film but it somehow exceeded my expectations. The cinematography really makes this film, the way we explore the backrooms with clark feels so eerie yet beautifully done. A second watch is a must! Its for sure my second favorite horror of the year so far, obsession probably being third. Leviticus is my number one it just has to be, I watched it four times in theaters loll

Rewatch is a must! I saw it twice in theaters. The first time around is figuring out WTF is going on (sort of). The second time your head can wrap around the symbolism and metaphors (Sort of).

Plus I lived in the San Francisco Bay area for 30 years. Shout out to San Jose California where this is set. Capitol and McKee boulevard, off the 680 freeway is a real place. Had a friend who lived off of McKee.

A part that stood out for me was the clip of The Neverending Story on tv. It helps my brain thinking the Backrooms are a form of Fantasia. It exists because of our imagination.

Thats so cool! Do you know what the actual store they used is? Im always curious to see how they change the front of stores for movies. How it looked before.

Yeah just rethinking about it, the paralleled for Mary being trapped as a kid and now being trapped in the backrooms.

I miss going to the theater to watch movies!! And I love that so many young talented people are now setting a new standard for movies. Its so inspiring seeing how they started and where they are today. I love the concept of backrooms, how it created itself and Im definitely watching the web series soon. And thank you for reminding me of Leviticus I forgot about it!!!!

Reel Reaction

Oh yes that's probably why that was the show they were watching. A nice parallel
