This movie left me speechless...

Yes, it was me who said that I'd watched this film before. I'd remembered the overall story about him kidnapping Vincent and turning him into a woman and the experimentation with a new type of skin. I'd remembered what Vincent had done to prompt the kidnapping but forgotten a lot of the details with the house keeper/Mum. A couple of things: The conversation nearer the start where you went back to wathc again. Dr Robert (the ex surgeon/mad scientist) said there was nothing else he would change about her so she (Vincent/Vera) replied "can I take it I'm finished" meaning "If there is nothing more you want to change about me, then can I presume that I'm finished/complete". Then Vera asks what happens next, if she's finished. Also, when Robert said "there will be no more burns" when Vincent was never Burt in the first place, I took that to mean he had been testing the modified artificial skin to see if it burns (like the scene earlier on where we see him put the blowtorch and mosquito to Vera's leg) and was saying that Vincent's new skin won't be able to burn.

My last comment was getting a bit long, so thought I'd split it up. Yes - I agree that the punishment outweighs what Vincent did to Nora, even though what he did was inexcusable/unforgivable. I wonder if they added the element of Vincent being on drugs and not really rembering to make the audience more divided about which 'side' they were on. As in, they intentionally didn't make Vincent outright evil so that we didn't automatically side with Dr Robert. Some scenes are hard to watch. I had tears in my eyes when Robert finds Nora after she has been abused. The acting from Nora was incredible and her genuinely terrified screams hit me hard. A strange film but I find it a very fascinating idea. The Dr who is consumed by grief and not being able to save his wife, goes mad, and becomes obsessed with pushing the science beyond what is moral. Where is that line between scientific advances and science that is morally wrong? Final note. I can't remember the exact quote but when the housekeeper is telling Vera that Robert and the Tiger are brothers she does mention that they both have a streak of insanity and madness. I think it's a little hint that Dr Robert is rather unstable, even if, until that point, he's seemed very focussed and somewhat level-headed.

Sorry, me again. Right at the start when you were questioning of it was horror or thriller, I suddenly thought - have you seen "The Sixth Sense"? It's a fantastic film for a reaction but only if you've never seen it and don't know what happens. I was fortunate enough that a friend sat me down to watch it when the only thing is heard was the name - I didn't even know one reveal that was even leaked before it went into cinemas. It made it a more enjoyable experience for me, because I knew nothing.

I have seen the sixed sense but I do t remember anything from the movie except the big reveal!! 😂 i wish I didn't remember it because the rest of the movie is an absolute black hole.

This was definitely a good twist on the concept of keeping someone who wronged you captive. I love when people can do something new so that was amazing. I do think they added the ambiguity of what happened so its not so clear cut. He was high, when she said stop he did but he hit her. And touched her as he put her clothes back on. I think it was meant to show that what was done to him was too much. But on the other side the dad only see the damages done to his daughter and her taking her own life. So its a good conversation to have. The consequences to her were horrible, and some can argue he stopped when she said stop. Its like there isn't a clear vilain.

Ah yes thank you. It makes more sense especially the burning part. I forgot he experimented to see if the skin could burn
