Good evening!

Feel free to submit titles for shorter games for the game club videos below. Each could just be a one sentence blurb and you don't need to give me tons of details since this does seem like the less I know the more fun it might end up. I'll be putting these into a secondary list to draw from, and in the future do some other rounds of suggestions. That way the page isn't getting spammed with a suggestion-vote-result loop every month and will mainly just be vote-result. I'll still check back here for titles to feed over!

The next vote will be on Monday! BioShock will either be on Sunday or Monday depending on how YouTube checks go since Sandustry's launch was even more chaotic than I expected, but BioShock 2 won't be nearly as long of a gap since the poll decided I can get started with that right after!

Thanks as always for your support!

Stormz23

Skin Stapler, let the people experience the stiffest dick on the CCPDs beat

Soul Of Iron

Steel garden is my pick! It’s a short 3 hour FPS taking place in a massive Mega-Structure! Recently played through it and thought it would be great for this series!

Quirked Up White Boy

HORSES (Sorry Mandy, it's kind of a wild pick, it's just what I've got in my GOG library when I took a peek)

Cowit

Greed's grub: it has been on my wishlist for a bit and seems cool. You cook weird meals for spooky monsters.

Lucas

I'm sorry, are there any criteria for the games in question other than the approximate playtime? I have lots of short games, just don't know how much discussion they can provide.

Mar Sadeh

Uriel's Chasm. It's objectively bad, but uses that to tell a story in a way I have never seen before. It is fascinating.

Bard

Pilgrims - point and click adventure game about four travelers. Very short, iirc it took me around a half hour to complete the first time, but there's tons of alternate routes to explore as well

Doyes

Mouthwashing. Maybe it's too well known to be a Game Club game but my knowledge of super short games is basically non-existent. So I'll shoot my shot with this suggestion since it's only around 3 hours long.

Critterfreak

Crow country Ps1 silent hill style survival horror.

Skilco

Milk inside a bag of milk, and the sequel, milk outside a bag of milk. They are a set of Visual novels that delve into some very creepy horror. It strikes on struggles with mental health. Never played anything like them. First game is an hour long, but the sequal is alot more content with multiple paths, a few hours. Thanks for the content as always

tomtheconqerur

Clocktower. First horror game that really spooked me growing up. Actually made me afraid of the dark for a while.

John-Charles Lawlor

Crow country Game in the style of classic resident evil set inside an abandoned theme park

BRAYDEN WORRELL

MOLE. Interesting horror title that clocks in at about 3-4 hours to complete. Brutalist deep-crust mining vessel, parental fears, and religious horror (specifically Eastern Orthodox flavored, which is a nice change).

Ciege

I know Doki Doki Literature Club is such a meme pick considering how popular it was and how much content already exists of it but I really think the complete clash of your usual content choices with something like DDLC would be absolute gold.

Nope Noperson

The Room, a game where you open a very tactile and mechanically engaging puzzle box and discover the eldritch secrets within.

Bo Jekyll

Joy Malignant - Garden of Earthly Delights and Citizen Sleeper mash up. A stranger washes ashore and needs to define themselves and the social upheaval that will cause.

Mikhail118

Roadwarden for a lovely modern point and click style game, without too much pointing for your clicking. Drova - Forsaken Kin can be pretty quick if you rush through things. It is an action rpg.

Hunter Lantz

Dread Delusion is a really fantastic shirt RPG with great visuals! Might be a fun option!

ALittleBitKushy

Arctic Eggs could be fun! Its super short (took me about 2 hours) and its an absolute treat. Its about cooking eggs for people and the beauty of it all.

Cat of doom

I have dredged up Rouge AI Simulator from my steam library. I have made a list of games that are shortish/can be experienced. Its an odd thing but you may be Suprised how much "its an experience" shortens the list down. Although length also pushed the list down. Ill just put somthing up here whenever the comment comes along. Things like multi-player games showed up a lot more. Or old greats that feels right for a club like thing. Thats what most clubs are really. Oh let's watch this old show that inspired a genre. Oh yeah let's play the old Rouge legacy or did you know this is what the C&C devs did after they left EA? Things like that.

Josh Williams

Norco. A point and click visual novel adventure game in a cyberpunk gothic new orleans. Might be a bit long around 5-6 hours but a cool game worth checking out even if its not in the game book club style.

Miles

Rebel Galaxy. Naval ship broadside combat in space. Really addictive gameplay loop.

The Western Fountain

Betrayl at Club Low. Fun game. Barely any coverage online from what ive searched.

Dumb Ugly Idiot

Detention really cool short horror game by Red Candle games. It's all about the White Terror period in Taiwan

Sucky_Player

I liked HORSES. I’d be interested in what (I’m assuming) non film nerds think about it.

Sucky_Player

Katana Zero. You listen to banging tunes while cutting down enemies in 2D levels.

Lars Schäfer

Wide Ocean Big Jacket is a narrative game about a small group of teenagers and adults going on a summer camping trip near the beach. Relaxed, cute and entertaining. Below the Crown takes Chess, adds new pieces and makes it a Rougelike.

RK03

Not the style of thing you usually do but recently I played through Smile For Me, which is a short puzzle game that I admittedly needed a few pointers on to get through a few of the villagers' quests since they seem a little vauge or obscure. Decent enough way to spend an afternoon though I feel.

Flint Fox

Rivals. Maybe not really in line with your usual game catalog but it's a 1-1.5h simple deductive puzzle game that pulls you in its music-centered story with surprising grip. Very heavily Wilco/Uncle Tupelo coded, for all the Tweedyheads out there.

GoldVeinVic

I have two suggestions, Carimara: Beneath the Forlorn Limbs and The Children of Clay. Carimara is based on European folklore and has you playing as a Carimara (in the context of the game, essentially an exorcist) and trying to help a strange old lady with removing a ghost from her basement. Has a very unique style, reminds me vaguely of Northern Journey. The Children of Clay has you playing an archeologist studying a strange, small statue found at a site. Incredibly atmospheric, and has a fantastic ending. Carimara costs $5 and takes about an hour to complete, The Children of Clay is completely free and takes around 40 minutes to an hour at the absolute most.

Humungus

From the (relatively) older bucket, 1213 trilogy by Yahtzee Croshaw? Short, yet there was some juice

Humungus

Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective - puzzle adventure with some pretty neat mechanics and engaging story, totaling around 15 hours.

George Sedov

Knock-knock. A nightmare-insomnia simulator from Ice-Pick Lodge. HowLongToBeat clocks it to 3-5 hrs.

Harrison Benning

Gunpoint, Tom Francis's first game, a 2d puzzle stealth game where you're a spy with the ability to rewire security devices, for example wiring a lightswitch to make a guard fire his gun. It's pretty well known though, and I thought it was longer but steam says I only have 3 hours in it and I've played it twice. Also, it might be a good idea to get a boilerplate "Game club games should be xyz" message to put on these posts, just so its clear what types of games are eligible.

Warpotato

Sniper Killer. It’s a small little horror game where you play as both a serial killer sniper and the detective hunting them down. I think it only takes about an hour or two to finish? I have heard there is more than one ending

Chase Cushman

I definitely second MOLE. It is a straightforward game that has quite a bit to discuss due to how the story is revealed. It is also on sale atm!

Nope Noperson

In Other Waters, a very minimalist kind of walking sim (swimming sim?) about discovering ocean life on an alien planet.

Chase Cushman

Threshold. The air on the planet’s surface has thinned so most people are stuck underground. You play as a worker who has to go to the surface to keep an automated train on pace for the good of an ambiguous quasi-communist state. If you do a good job, they will give you glass vials of air to bite through. Don’t dig too deep in the area worker. Your job is ONLY to keep the train on pace. There is a reason this spot opened up… It is $10. About 90 minutes of gameplay with multiple endings. Best played with headphones.

Chase Cushman

It’s closer to narrative Walking Sim than an adventure game, but the pendulum is not TOO far to that side.

Håkon Bøyum

Uktena 64 is a comedic horror game with the aestethics of a N64 hunting game. You play Jeb who gets a job from the CDC to exterminate some diseased animals, but it very quickly turns out to not be as simple a job as it seems. The standalone version on steam features two campaigns that take 45 - 60 minutes each. 1.5 - 2 hours combined.

caleb howell

Tactical Breach Wizards. Tactics strategy puzzle game where each character is a unique wizard "class". Easiest sell it that one wizards whole kit is based around defenestration.

holycow8498

They may not be obscure but Are some of the other amplitude studios games something that'd be on the table? Like Humankind, Endless space etc

nathan schamp

How fish is made great game and wierd

Jabronii-chan

The Final Station: Train Driver Dad tours an already destroyed country during the start of a second apocalypse while trying to get home to his daughter.

Kiros

Nauticrawl, about 3 hours long, your character steals a strange machine to try and escape. They don't know how to operate it and neither do you.

C2

Did the title change? It's called 'Metal Garden' on steam atm. Played it 2 weeks ago and I'd also recommend it. Short, well-made FPS. Very atmospheric.

Soul Of Iron

Must have misremembered the name, been a month since I played it. My bad!

Orjin

Terra Invicta, mainly because it's my current Hyperfixation. If you want a game that's just 60 spreadsheets with some good writing, I'd recommend it.

Media Detective

This won’t count because it isn’t out yet but would you be interested in a Paratopic: Overdub review for the game club? It’d be funny with how the Paratopic video was one of the first suggestions of a “book club” thing with a game.

TechPriest

Lobotomy Corporation? An energy management game ^^

Warpotato

The dlc is also pretty good, though has weird implications imo

MandaloreGaming

I work on this one so probably won't be covering it, but this is definitely by far the longest game here haha

uhhh_ben

I think I'd vote for s.p.l.i.t. if it was on the next poll. I crawled out from under my rock and learned about Buckshot Roulette recently. Knowing s.p.l.i.t. is by the same person makes me interested.

Grinning Serpent

A lot of these games are walking sims, so I'm not sure what the purpose of the question is.

Undead

Fantastic game, and a fantastic DLC.

HexLexicon

Who's Lila is a fantastic choice if you want something weird, short, and real interesting. It's a game where you try to go through the day acting as a normal person by contorting your face to talk to people and make expressions that seem appropriate

Cat of doom

Well coming back to add another one from my list. Now that i know what is expected a bit more. You want far shorter games it seems. Islanders, its a short game about min maxing a little island civilization. The sequel has a lot more going for it but the first game has a lot less. So in this less is more economy that probably works.
