Tucked away off a county road, across the autumn fields, the old barn lay.

One might think it was a place of ruin, but modern times had left marks.

Roof repaired, light sensor, a cord for electric flow.

But mysteries remained, even in the shine of now. Enough is still faded.

Our land is a patchwork. Reminders aside progressions.

Our lives keep moving forward: A tear mended, a new pair of specs, appliances sent to bins or traded, while new ones are brought in.

Enough is still faded, even in the shine of now.
