I managed a dry cleaners for 6yrs and it depends on the item but the process is involves a very expensive machine the size of a large SUV, and toxics chemicals that have to be handled with extreme caution. That solution fully saturates all of the clothing, so it’s not actually dry. From start to finish the entire process takes 3-4 hrs, anything that has any plastic beads or adornments can’t be placed in the machine because the cleaning solution will melt anything like that so those items are spot cleaned and steamed.
