I have a list of things that I really want to accomplish in 2020 in some capacity, so I am writing it down here to try and hold myself to them lol. In no particular order, they are...Keep working on my original story/characters

character design

Building Portfolio

Developing a shorthand style

Creating cleaner, more polished work

Practicing sketches and flat color

Working on my 'Tarot' style, movie still and Old Master-esque illustrations.

Using procreate more once the update drops

Continuing to learn traditional

I finally feel like I know where I want to go. I realized that I can't really make a comic for my story without being able to shorthand it, which means I need to create a style that is easier to do so that I can be more prolific. I was thinking something similar to:

My vintage photo studies. I used to study from them all the time, and I loved the simplified style it gave me. I need a quick style with less lines that I can draw in without a lot of reference. I'm not entirely sure how to practice it other than studying a ton of photos, but I'll figure something out.Working on my story is pretty obvious, so I won't go into that, but I would also love to just create random characters all year long, which gives me a chance to keep practicing character design. Expect more DnD characters, Uraomote and maybe even some characters from my spooky Western story...

Character design, along with tarot, movie stills and illustrations like Old Master paintings are the four things that feel the most natural for me, so I'm going to keep working towards those.

The rest are just goals to push myself, especially when it comes to the polish on my work. Smaller sub-goals are practicing clothing, BGs and putting more details in like patterns and textures.

That's it for now. I really want to get back into teaching again too, but that might have to be a goal for 2021. We'll see!
