I hate sleep paralysis so much 😭, It happens to me very frequently. Just the other day I had it back to back throughout the whole night and it was so terrifying.. I felt like I was in the trenches and was so exhausted

y’all’s debate went off the track of this particular argument, but i just wanna say that the brother didn’t ask for permission to write the book. to my knowledge, at least. it’s confirmed that he ran the idea of it past shirley, but she didn’t know the contents and extent of the details he’d put within it. what he DID was offer to split the revenue (after being confronted by shirley, by the way. he wasn’t going to do that of his own accord). that was the “happy medium” that they were supposed to be forced into finding lol. nell didn’t take the money, and it was still published regardless. that’s what the family meeting was about. the split check, not whether or not he was publishing the book. i also just don’t like this whole thing of having a time limit on processing and confrontation. i’m personally not mad at her checking him in front of people. was she off her meds ? yes. was she standing up for herself finally ? also yes. could it be bogus to some ? sure. but he was also bogus in the part he played. and i don’t think it really matters whether or not he’s saying he doesn’t believe it during his one on one sessions with folks. during these book tours some of his fans clearly seem to think he does, which is why nell called him out on it. so, he has to be leaning into that to some degree, which is wrong when he’s being mean to his baby siblings who have actually tried to confide in him about these very same experiences. the people whose stories he’s making a great living off of. evan is right. also, remember guys, in their universe this family actually exists. as in real names and all. he put their family business out there first. his mom *died* there, it was in the papers. a lot of people think this was possibly a real haunting.

I don’t think Steve went through the same trauma as the rest of his siblings. Theo even said he was sleeping through most of it I think it was in ep.3 (and Steve said himself in this episode that he didn’t know what was going on because the dad just went to wake him up and brought all of them to the motel). Intense episode tho man. Can’t wait to see the next one

When Rob etc were arguing that Steve tells his fans "he doesn't believe in ghosts", I don't think it was considered why Steve's fan was surprised that he didn't believe. She read his book before meeting him and she was just now hearing him say this. It would have to be because he didn't write the story in a way that gave that impression. She called him to check her house for ghosts - thinking he'd know the signs of an entity because she thought he saw one. You could tell she wasn't sold or satisfied after he gave her his explanation for the things she's seeing. The point is that Nellie was upset at how the book is written compared with what her actual treatment from her brother has been regarding the actual incident that happened to them in real life. I believe by the time they read it there were no edits to be made - they just got early copies.

You guys should YouTube all the ghost in haunting of hill house when your done. Lots of them are really quick, in the background or in shadows. Its shocking how many you end up missing while watching the show for the first time. For example in this episode you can see the ghost that wrote on the wall behind nell

The mom wrote welcome home nell on the wall. This shows plays with time which I lovee! It’s so trippy lol The doctor said “I think that if you were to look at it today, after all these years, empty in the woods, you’d find it’s not a monster” So he didn’t explicitly say go to the house but to tell her that knowing her condition and erratic behavior was not a good move as a therapist imo
