To the debate at the end - Chuck doesn't get up and look for his suit when Howard told him that Kim's gonna be a solo practitioner. Instead, he spends time asking why and how that happened, when Chuck knew there was only a 1 hour window till the big meeting to get Mesa Verde back. If the client was THAT important to him (not saying they aren't to some level), Chuck would've gone for the suit before Jimmy's name was even mentioned. There's also something to be said about the fact that a desperate Howard mentioning Jimmy to Chuck, and then a defeated Kim mentioning Chuck to Jimmy. Neither Howard nor Kim have involved themselves in the beef between the McGill brothers, but it is maybe interesting that both got what they wanted as a result of their actions, even if it wasn't intentional on their part.

RT TV

Great point chuck is bugging

RT TV

Who right or wrong chuck or jimmy ?

Josh Hargrave

But Chuck did assume that they're attorneys at law. He literally said that.

RT TV

Yes that’s a fact you broke it down perfectly!

RT TV

You’re right he did but how does that change things?

Josh Hargrave

I was just clarifying because y'all were debating about if Jimmy had anything to do with Chuck wanting to get the client back. I think are definitely right about it being a big loss of client but I agree with Evan and Jerry that it fueled Chuck to wanna get Mesa Verde back even more.

Logan McLeod

I think Jerry’s right, Howard knows that they were only pulling resources, they weren’t partnering up. He told that little white lie about Kim partnering with Jimmy and creating their own law firm because he knew it would light a fire under Chuck. Of course Chuck is a very professional businessman and the loss of a high profile. Client like that probably would’ve gotten them out of that house anyways, but I think the biggest motivating factor was him trying to do everything he could to prevent Kim from throwing her life away and working with Jimmy. I certainly think that Chuck does want what’s best for Kim and that’s masking his subconscious desire to prevent Jimmy from getting ahead as a lawyer. Retaining the client is important to Chuck, but I believe deep down keeping Jimmy out of his precious law is more important. (as I finish typing this they covered all the points. I listed above loving these post episode discuss discussions very comprehensive. 🤌🏽 y’all ain’t fucking around when it comes to better call Saul)
