I agree with Naruto trying to stop the cycle of hatred, but they aren’t just trying to avenge B, they’re trying to save him. And Naruto hiding info on Sasuke is going to make it more difficult for them to rescue B. So Naruto was wrong for that.

They didn't even think B was alive until Naruto told em. What info does Naruto have that they haven't already been given by Danzo that could pinpoint B's location? He didn't even know he joined the Akatsuki at this point

They didn’t know if he was dead or alive. But Raikage sent them there to get information in order to rescue his brother, so they are operating on that assumption. They even stated that Sasuke “kidnapped” Bee, not killed. Sasuke took Bee, so they are going after Sasuke. If they are trying to rescue Bee from Sasuke, they assume they will have to fight Sasuke. That’s why they are asking about Sasuke’s technique, to be prepared to fight to save Bee, not just avenge. If they find Bee in dead, then yeah I’m sure they’ll want to avenge him, but giving up information to save Bee should be first priority.
