The blackout is the result of an event seen in the Mad About You episode "Pandora's Box" which starred Lisa Kudrow as Phoebe's twin sister Ursula. This is many of the cast members' favorite episode (particularly Matthew Perry). It's also the main reason the term 'friend-zone' became a popular phrase in Western culture. Paolo's lines translate into the following - When he introduces himself to the guys: "Hi guys, I just moved in and I live in the floor below this so I'll guess we'll see quite a lot of each other." When Rachel introduces Paolo to Phoebe: "Phoebe, you're gorgeous too! If you're all this beautiful I'll move right here!" When flirting with Rachel: "Look at the moon, look at the stars, look at everything that's beautiful." Cosimo Fusco (Paolo) improvised almost every one of his lines. The directors told him to say whatever he wanted in Italian. It speaks to the professionalism of the actor that he only said lines that were relevant to what was going on. Apparently, what Joey mumbles to Chandler is "See if you can tell what kind of underwear she wears" 😂 And I was tempted to lie but my weirdest place is none cuz I've never had sex. The fact that you thought the one with the blackout meant race versus a power outage had me howling in the beginning. 🤣🤣🤣💀💀 Friends isn’t that controversial and it’s held up amazingly. Of course, there is going to be one comment here in there throughout the 10 season series but friends is very progressive. You will see them tackle topics that other shows didn't consider talking about until 10-20 years after they did. You won't find much that's too controversial. Blackout is a power outage, my friend 🤣🤣 ALSO, the question might be a good thing to do at the END of the episode, so the question can relate into the episode that we just watched. I guess I’ll answer too. It wasn’t sex, but the craziest place I ever made out for hours was also near there lol in riverside park. And at the time, I lived in an all women’s apt building ran by nuns, so he wasn’t allowed back at my place. Yay! I feel like with sex you can't win. If you do "too much" you're a slut but if you've reached a certain age and are still a virgin you're a prude and there must be something wrong with you. The craziest place I ever made out was in the storage/equipment room of my high school. I was the wrestling manager and had a key to the room. I really had to think about this one lol. I think the craziest place for me would had to have been in NYC. My husband and I went to a bar called “The Cock” (very wild - never had experienced a place like the before) and picked up a guy.
