Bottom 3: Lily, Dani, Tyler. I agree with who they picked this week. Who I would’ve cut: Dani hands down. Favorite so far: Michael and Aylin. I feel Lily definitely needs to take it down a notch, was not impressed with how she started talking over Zach and interrupting him. That’s one of my biggest pet peeves. I’m not a fan of her.

Landon Ballesteros

Gosh I forgot how bad that video shoot was! 🫣 I would pick the same bottom 3 and elimination as the show. I forget who I was most connected to back when I originally watched it but I’m actually really enjoying Tyler a lot more now than I did back then! Even Michael, who was never a standout to me before, is really growing on me on this Re-watch. And Aylin, I still adore her lol.

Bottom 3- Lily, Dani, and Tyler Who I'd cut- BOTH Dani and Lily. I would not be having it with Lily's attitude. Very concerning. And for their reasoning, I agree to cut Dani Favorites so far- Blake and Ailyn I actually think despite the shoot being such a mess, Blake and Shanna nailed it, especially Blake. It felt real and natural and they both were great on camera. It's interesting to see Blake so good at the competition because I feel like when he was on the show it was so flat. Maybe it was the part they gave him? Maybe it was just his acting? But overall, he is forgettable in the show for sure.

Ellie

This is my favorite episode all season because learning choreo, vocals, perfoming all at once seems crazy but they usually do it pretty well or at least get there, this one they don't. It falls apart and they have to make do.

Jill

For me Dani was the standout of the homework assignment, but yeah she fell apart during the rest of the episode. Bottom 3- Lily, Dani, and Tyler I would have also cut BOTH Dani and Lily. They are probably keeping Lily to see what other shit she can stir up. As much as I like Dani, I agree that she was really flat this week. And that's a shame. Top 3 - Aylin, Michael and, as much as I hate to admit it, Blake. Blake really popped in the video shoot. I really enjoyed his and Michael's twosome dancing during the video too.

Jennifer Lawrence

I want to like Lily, but, I got so annoyed that she seemed to think because she was unhappy that nobody else was allowed to be happy. I get it. It's hard seeing other people be happy sometimes. But, it came off rather selfish. What if the shoe was on the other foot and it was her that was called back? Would she be doing a "happy dance" or would she be worried about others who weren't?

fry

i feel like s2 cast are more talented but s1 cast are more likeable

fry

i think the fault they made with blake is trying (and failing) to make him finn 2.0 it just didn’t work. all the other new kids like marley, jake, unique, kitty were more enjoyable characters even if they were also meant to be 2.0 of the og cast

beth

I appreciate your "Sue Sylvester" psychological warfare approach to elimination. It would definitely keep everyone performing their best.

Talia Shapiro

oh yeah. That actually makes a lot of sense especially as Finn mentored him. He definitely doesn't fill those shoes and just kind of falls short. It's the same with Sam and Damien from last season.

Talia Shapiro

Gotta keep everyone on their toes! But I also see what someone below says about keeping Lily on for drama. I just don't like rewarding poor behavior.

Annie Willow

Damn that video shoot was horrendous. I definitely agree with them on the bottom three and eliminating Dani. I feel like they kept Lily for the drama only. None of them really were great standouts, we just haven’t had enough time with them yet to get to know them. Side note - I totally had the shirt that Aylin was wearing in the dance studio with the cream lace on the shoulders and back and it was one of my favorites back then and I wish I still had it!.

Lauren Obeng

Blake and Michael's dancing together was so natural and POPPED on camera, my goodness!

Selma Jabr

Mario and Abraham are probably my favorite. I totally agree with him winning the HW assignment and I’m glad he wasn’t in the bottom because he really outshined the others in the dancing category. And Mario sounded great in the MV and the HW and while he’s not the best dancer, it’s not something you can blame him for. But he’s certainly not the worst. I guess Blake did really well too, in the MV at least. His dancing and stage presence in the HW assignment fell flat which was surprising as he is a good dancer. But it feels so uncomfy to complement him. My bottom 3 would’ve been Lily, Tayler, and probably Nellie. If they stood out it was because they were bad. Tho I see why Dani was in their bottom and out of their 3 I agree with her going home. Which sucks because I really liked her. But I guess where her talent lies is not in glees style. As for the whole Lily thing, I knew she was going to be this seasons villain! And I feel like they had to do less editing to show that. What’s ironic to me is that attitude is such a make or break thing for Robert, Ryan, Zack, and Niki, but on glee, there was some unfair treatment of cast members when they had attitude. Some got temporary written off, some were given a paid vacation to “shut them up”, and some were allowed to have attitude. (I know that there are different kinds of attitude but my point still stands.) Also I’m not surprised that Tanya went home. I predicted that within the first few episodes, she would’ve left or been eliminated. Really good voice but definitely not ready for something this big. I can’t wait for next week! I wonder if the dramas as juicy as they made it look. But Tayler should do well and I think Mario will be a stand out .

Benjamin Smith

Rewatching this season, it definitely seems like this cast is much closer to each other than last season. That or they just seem much more sad when they say goodbye to the eliminated person. I feel like the only time we saw last season’s people cry was when Cameron left. This season they were already crying when Maxfield left.

Liv Heskett

Wanted to just say that they had multiple days to work on the HW assignment last season as well. They just didn’t show it. But Marissa says in an episode that she loved working with Cameron the last couple days.

Heida

My homework assignment winner: Abraham, Ali or Dani honestly My top 3: Ali, Aylin and Blake (or Michael) My #1 overall: Ali My bottom 3: Same - Dani, Tyler and Lily Who I would have cut: Dani It's crazy how good the HWA is and how bad the music video is. Overall I think Ali was the best but Abraham killed it in the HWA (along with Ali, Dani, Aylin, Mario, Blake and Michael). I liked Lily's LCP but her attitude is so off putting. Tyler was definitely better than last week and he would be a great character on Glee but I just don't think he's ready to be on a show like this at this stage in his life. I also still don't really like his voice. To me, Dani is the most likeable out of the three but they seemed to have one of the hardest time with the dancing and moreso that performance was not good (even though there was no dancing involved), which I think really did it. I think they would've taken what they said and actually worked on it if they had not been eliminated instead of bitching about it like Lily, but I still think they made the right call. Btw, Dani was an extra in Glee S4E14 "I Do" (at Will and Emma's non wedding) and a year prior to this they made it to the Top 48 on America’s Got Talent. Following TGP, they have starred in The Civility of Albert Cashier, a musical about a real-life trans Civil War soldier and they co-wrote and directed a short film, Shooting Star. They are also one of the creators of an anti-bullying campaign called "Be More Heroic", along with Ali whom they also dated from 2012-2015. Dani identifies now as non-binary. As for Taryn, I wasn't surprised either. But they didn't give us the whole story. I can't find a link to the actual intervew but just before filming her grandmother died of cancer and shortly after her cousin died in a car crash. That was the deciding factor in her decision to leave the show. Also, while I think Ali did amazing on that high note, I was SO proud of Mario for standing up for himself. It's really hard to do that and especially at such a young age and around so many passionate people who all go for that they want. Lastly, a transgender MALE? Correct me if I'm wrong but that doesn't make sense to me.

Benjamin Smith

I love your tidbits each week. I knew Ali was in the I Do episode but had no idea Dani was an extra. Was it a noticeable appearance and in which scene? I’ll have to go back and look for the scene.

Jay Johnston

Can I ask what you mean when you say transgender male doesn't make sense to you? Just asking so maybe I can help

Heida

It was for sure during the wedding reception and I think it was during We've Got Tonight but I've looked so hard and haven't seen them. Can you? https://youtu.be/pnUAeFrxeOM?si=0ZyxD5t4loEs5pYT Maybe they're just in a wide shot. But they said they were an extra and were actually just there to support Ali! And thank you!

Heida

Well if I understand correctly Tyler was assigned female at birth. He identifies as a man but gender identity is not the same as biological sex. So how is he a 'male' which is the biological term? I'm always educating myself and clearly still have a lot to learn but that just didn't make sense to me. If they had said 'transgender MAN' that would make sense. But 'male' suggests he was assigned male at birth, right?

Jay Johnston

So technically trans male is considered an outdated term, however male is not just a biological term it's also used to describe pronouns, like "she uses female pronouns". These days the more common term you'll hear for this is that Tyler is transmasculine. The change is due to the fact that some trans people will identify as leaning more masculine but still not quite a man, so it's to respect those people and the fact that gender is a spectrum

Heida

Ah got it. I think Dani identifies as non-binary transmasculine, which is still different though right? I also think they use they/them pronouns (or maybe all of them, I don't know). But do you know if Tyler still uses he/him pronouns?

Jay Johnston

It looks like Tyler uses they/them now and is a friend of Arianna Grande

Heida

Oh ok. Thank you so much. And really? I'm an Ariana fan and I watched TGP back in the day but I had no idea!

Jay Johnston

They've got pics together and have Instagramed and tweeted about each other

I’m just ken from the Oscars please!!

If you upset Zach, you really messed up because Zach is your HYPE man, he wants you to be happy and succeed but jeez this video still hurts
