busy dog

MariaV44

Been waiting for this one! I've been sick this last couple days so this was great timing sis

Jeremy

Omg I just subscribed last night what a treat! 😎

m

Oh I’m ready.

defnotdai

Did you ever do the self titled visual album?

MariaV44

I think your reaction fits perfectly. There's no real way to intelligently respond to something like this first go. A masterpiece. We all knew the Grammy's were a joke but her losing this album absolutely solidified it. Idk wo takes it seriously anymore. She lost to Adele, also incredible, and even Adele knew Beyonce deserved it. She got on stage, thanked her people, deservedly so it was a great album, and then talked directly to Beyonce in her speech about how incredible that album was and how much it meant to her and so many people.

Tesia Turner

The part where the women were sitting there with the picture frames in their lap, Three of them are the moms of victims of racial violence. Such as Trayvon martin, Eric Garner, and Michael brown (the sons of the moms in the video)

rere

It’s like her emotions and her music were all of her thoughts. There is so lunch purpose in every album 💫

Roberta Pannell

Several times, she refences the miscarriage she had, which is a large influence to the poignant discussions of her cycle. The 'lost one ' flowered from her throat thru song 🥲

Dana (Dah-Nah)

the woman talking about making lemonade out of lemons is Jay’s grandmother

fry

yesss i would totally watch this again on 7 deadly bananas

Nadie Roberson

That clip during daddy lessons is Beyonce and her father Matthew. Lost files type thing.

fry

manifesting and i’m thinking it might happen that if we get a visual album for cc that we got for lemonade that you will probably understand/appreciate the album more honestly

fry

i’m so glad you found your husband and broke the cycle ❤️❤️

fry

trayvon martin was my first ever introduction to violence against black people and it was chilling for years i was terrified to wear a hoodie at nighttime god forbid someone murder me for it

In Pray You Catch Me...You mentioned her face being obstructed...I think that's to reinforce the fact that it could be any of us. Like you said, women of a different era were forced to accept these things and still today we deal with so much trauma. These words are for all of us...the face doesn't matter because we all see ourselves in one way or another.

Dominique

Now you see why we stan! This is my favorite album from her because as you described it just hits every note on every level and raises the bar for what an album could be

JLeo

Loooooooooved it! Happy to see you back! I think it will be amazing to rewatch HOMECOMING since it is the performance that has the live versions of this songs including: FREEDOM, FORMATION, SORRY, DONT HURT YOURSELF....and also since you know most of her catalogue, you will enjoy it soooo muuuuch, believe me!! <333

Milkyway

I can't wait for her to listen to self-titled and then get into the self-titled visuals and also the gift album and visuals

missninacarter

this is great! thanks for reacting to this masterpiece! you would be even more impressed after learning all the references, ik i did! there’s too many to count, but if you ever feel like researching it i promise you won’t regret it.

missninacarter

oh it did not win the AOTY, she never won one and Lemonade was completely the winner in most ppls eyes… it lost to Adele’s 25. it was so outrageous that Adele herself dedicated the grammy to Beyoncé and Lemonade, she got up the stage with a lemon brooch on her dress, got emotional and said Lemonade deserved the win. but yk the academy… its sad really

Erwin 𐚁

After thanking her collaborators for their encouragement to release 25 and calling the win "full-circle," Adele choked up as she acknowledged Beyoncé's Lemonade that was also nominated in the category. "I can't possibly accept this award. And I'm very humbled, and I'm very grateful and gracious, but my artist of my life is Beyoncé," Adele said as she held back tears. "This album was so monumental, and so well-thought-out and so beautiful and soul-bearing…and all us artists here, we f—ing adore you."

Erwin 𐚁

“I spoke to her before just to let her know how honored and privileged I felt to be nominated alongside her, and we spoke afterward as well and she was very gracious and humble, as always, as we’ve come to expect,” Adele told reporters. “And the reason I felt the need to say something is because my album of the year is Lemonade. She is my icon of my whole life.” She felt compelled to give Beyoncé her due because of how blown away she was by Lemonade — and by the fact that Bey has never won the top prize. “I felt like it was her time to win,” she said. “What the f— does she have to do to win album of the year? That’s how I feel.”

Erwin 𐚁

So happy you finally got to experience the Lemonade film. 🍋 It would be really exciting to see you rewatch it with Danny and break down the poetry.

The visual for Forward features women holding photos of men they have lost. Trayvon Martin's mother Sybrina Fulton, Eric Garner's mother Gwen Carr, and Michael Brown's mother Lezley McSpadden. Victims whose circumstances of death were huge parts of the BLM movement.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO “BLACK IS KING” next, it’s a musical the re-telling of “Lion King”, Beyoncé made a whole album called “The gift” that was inspired by her experience when she voiced Nala in the Lion King remake….it’s a visual FEAST

Erwin 𐚁

re “Formation” music video, one of my takeaways is that the streets of NOLA are flooded and then we see Beyoncé and co. dancing in an empty pool where water should be. I always thought that was a strong statement. Public pools were once segregated because of racist laws and the flooding that happened during Hurricane Katrina was avoided but because of racist policies, care was not put into the management of the levees.

alishay carp

Crying at you missing Zendaya twice 😂😂

JLeo

Of course you did good at reacting!!! we love this proyect!! I hope your husband can react to it as well!!

Ebony McDaniel

I can’t wait until you react to Beyoncé - Self Titled 🔥

Travis Bradbury

I feel like if you got to see the full journey she made to cowboy carter as it happened you would understand it more, this album is a big reason she made cowboy carter so not getting the feelings you are getting from watching it this now before that it would be hard to appreciate it. Her performing at the CMA is a big reason se made cowboy carter. This album deserved way more credit then it got and seeing your reaction to the visuals made me so happy. I cant wait to see self titled because you will see her full growth from that to cowboy carter <3

Travis Bradbury

She performed every song from this album over multiple award shows, she didnt miss one song even when pregnant with twins. She truly worked to win every award she was nominated for and she only won 2 out of 9 and that is a crime. When Adele dedicated her AOTY award to her you know that Beyonce deserved it Adele the women who won the AOTY award saying Lemonade deserved it speaks volume.

Travis Bradbury

This is her best project, I hope you still enjoy self titled after this because self titled is an introduction to this. I know you will though after watching your reaction to the video vanguard award but this is a masterpiece so I just hope you can appreciate self titled just as much <3 thank you for your amazing reactions!!

Allie

I know I’m not the first person to say it, I but I PRAY that you dive into The Gift and Black is King next. There’s also a full documentary of the making of the album and film available online. It was so under appreciated by the public when it was released, but personally, it’s one of my favorite projects she’s ever created. Of course she was met with all sorts of vitriol and criticism from every corner of the world when it came out (not everyone has TASTE). While Lemonade was her most personal album, and I feel The Gift/Black is King is a “love letter” album. Full of celebration, and STILL ties in perfectly with the storyline of the lion king. She didn’t just make an album for a Disney movie, I can’t stress enough how much MORE it is than that. If the depth of the lemonade film gives you any indication of how many layers she creates in her albums/bodies of work, you’ll be blown away with the depth she gives in her own retelling of The Lion King.

Matt

I'm glad you listened to the album first, too! There are too many reactors that give in and watch the visuals first, and they miss so much! You got most of the surface-level messages from this, but I'm sure you can tell there are so many layers. I am glad you were able to pay attention to this as its own project so you could catch the themes! Good reaction :)

Jennifer Morrison

🇬🇧🇬🇧I've just joined your patreon and damn it's worth every penny for your input and enthusiasm 👌🏽. I've a lot of videos to catch up on but I just wanted to say hi from across the pond and thanks 😊 for your hard work ❤️

Jordan Wilson

Yes please do the "Black Is King" reaction. It is on Disney Plus. You will be in awe of how she put it together and the beauty and love letter that she gave to Africa and black people in general is just a pure experience.

Renee W.

Black is King! We need it! It’s her best visual album to date.

Renee W.

Edit: And give CC a re-listen. I thought got it immediately but every time I listen I hear something else I missed that makes it make even more sense. It’s not on the nose like lemonade but there is a concept and flow for the album.

22843

Also please watch it with subtitles😂

sarahm

Wow I've never seen this. Everything she says , it rings true for all women past and present. I've just joined your patreon from UK 🇬🇧 😀

Loved this so much!!! As many have already stated the men in the photos the women are holding were killed due to racism. Want to add that the poetry is written by award winning Somali-British poet Warsan Shire. I believe her tying the menstruation themes into the poetry is meant to highlight the way gender dynamics affect relationships and inform betrayal. The experience Beyonce is portraying is one that is very feminine— the pain, longing, confusion, self deprecation, all of it. I believe she is highlighting that this type of pain is so common for women throughout history it’s become nearly as engrained as menstruation.

This video filled me with joy and inspiration—thank you for your time, heart and insight. Watching this with you helped me re-encounter Lemonade through the lens of your womanhood, indigeneity and relationship history, which helped me connect with the album in a deeper way. I noticed how much more comfortable you seemed with Lemonade compared to Cowboy Carter, because it’s more traditionally structured. I just hope “traditional” doesn’t start to mean “better”—especially when we’re talking about an artist like Beyoncé, who’s spent years actively reinventing what an album, a song, a genre even is. From the first visual album to genre disruption to blending poetry, film and Black history, she’s not making music to sit neatly within expectations. She’s making work that asks us to grow with it. As a queer man of colour, and someone drawn to more experimental forms, I felt an immediate connection with the ambition of Renaissance and Cowboy Carter. But I also know that my comfort with those works is shaped by my own experiences—and that there’s always more to learn. That’s what made your sharing in this video feel so generous. Since you’re continuing this Beyoncé journey—not just reacting, but commentating, sparking conversation and sharing—I hope your openness and curiosity keep expanding too. Not just with the medium, but culturally and politically. Beyoncé gives us such a rich chance to grow—sharpen our taste, stretch our thinking and deepen how we understand culture. Thanks again for bringing so much presence and openness to these reactions.

Mothers who lost their sons to police brutality. Trayvon Martin is the one I can name off top of my head. But the ages are off depending on when it happened. Ugh. Sandcastles. 😢😢 The women walking in the water holding hands represented people choosing to die/drown over slavery. Wow. I love the fresh perspective on the poem before 6 inch. Your thoughts on menses kinda ties things together for me. In the beginning, she plugs her menses when she was in denial and made herself small, quiet and docile for him. But it flowed during the time she was grinding, building, and pushing herself (when she left Jay z) to fill the emptiness.
