Thank You! I dont know much about technique but I know by being perfect you loose the emotion. Kinda like Anne Hathaways I dreamed a dream her emotion in that was amazing. I WANT to see the pain on Glindas face more than I want perfect technique from Ariana Grande.

I don't know much about vocal technique, but I did always think Ariana nailed the emotions in this scene. It made me cry in the cinema when I hadn't seen Wicked before. You can tell how much pain Glinda is in doing this and that's what Ariana should have and was focused on.

It's always annoying when people are so anal about "perfect" notes and technique. Reminds me of all the folks saying that Cynthia was "off" with the FIYEROOOOOOO! riff. Elphaba was anguished, so it's not going to sound pretty. As an untrained person, all I know is that Ariana sounds great as she relays the feelings she's going through in this scene. On first viewings, I thought she was smiling a bit too much, but it was all part of the façade she had to put on.

Lovvveeeed this! The word of the day is "Nuance". Don't just take into effect how she's technically performing it live, but the emotion and thought that the character is feeling, that she's applying to the performance... because, shocker, it's a musical. 😲😂🩷👑
