ATTENTION!!!! You talked me into it! This song was too damn amazing for me not to watch the show. ...truthfully you had me at Jeremy Jordan.

So, on May 30th I will start releasing weekly episodes of Hazbin Hotel season one.

This was a last minute decision and I will be gone during the release dates of the first four episodes. That means I can't read your comments until episode 5 when I get back home. Because of this I encourage you to comment below with what you think I MUST KNOW for each episode. You can title your comments with "EPISODE 2 COMMENT" and then I will read it during the recording of episode 2. NO SPOILERS! Please title your comments based on when you want me read them. (I hope this makes sense)

EPISODE 4 COMMENT: This episode will need a major trigger warning at the beginning of it. There's intense images of sexual assault and abuse in this episode, and it can be hard to watch for some people. In my opinion, it's really well depicted and it's personally one of my favorite episodes.

If you want to hear more Jeremy Jordan you should look up songs from Rapunzels Tangled Adventure. He voiced a character for that show and his songs are Nothing Left To Lose, Ready As I’ll Ever Be and Let Me Make You Proud. The songs were written for his vocal range and they’re so good

Ava Koppenhoefer

Also yes please watch Hazbin Hotel!! I watch that and Helluva Boss created by the same people it’s just on YouTube not Amazon prime. They also have some songs in that show that are really good too

Alex Foster

Yes hazbin hotel!!! Excited! You were right btw kimiko glen was in waitress. Alex brightman was beetlejuice on broadway Erika henningson was cady heron in mean girls on broadway.

Tyler Explains It All

The voice actress for Charlie was the original Cady in Mean Girls in Broadway

Jeanette Dawe

I haven't watched this show yet but I am excited to start watching with you!

Babble

I would adore for you to watch Hazbin Hotel at some point, it's one of my favourites - FYI it is a adult show that's not afraid to get very dark, but the music is just delightful, and the cast do a fantastic job

Babble

Seconded, Jeremy Jordan's songs in the show are just amazing - Nothing Left To Lose is my personal favourite

Samantha Sistek

There is a broadway show of some of the songs that was filmed before season 2 was released. They did some season 1 songs and some songs from season 2 as a preview. All the songs are just so good for some reason.

Blue

Omg if you like Jeremy’s rock feel there’s another song you’ll hopefully hear in the second season called Vox Populi and Jeremy’s voice in it is to dieeee for 😩👌🏼

Ren S.

He also has a rock band called Age of Madness

Pre Episode 1 Comment: I definitely agree with people that have suggested you watch the pilot episode first. It is available on Youtube whereas the show itself is on Prime Video. The pilot was made a few years before the actual show and features a different voice cast and slightly different character designs than the show itself but it does provide some good setup. It is considered "soft canon" from what I've heard because some things did change between the pilot and the show and it isn't required to watch it but some people like having the extra context. It is also nice to see how far this came as an indie project before it had the backing of Amazon. I also recommend listening to the music video for the song "Addict" which features the pilot voice actors for Angel Dust and Cherri Bomb. I think the music video is supposed to take place either before the pilot or in between the pilot and the show. It gives a bit of a glimpse into those characters and the OG voice actors did a really good job and are equally as good as the actors in the show itself.

Episode 1 comment: To answer one of your questions, all of the voice actors also do their own singing. They are all talented but not all of them are Broadway performers. Some other notable ones besides Jeremy Jordan include: - Erika Henningsen (Charlie Morningstar): Known for Mean Girls - Alex Brightman (Sir Pentious/Adam): A two-time Tony nominee known for Beetlejuice - Jessica Vosk (Lute): Known for playing Elphaba in Wicked - Christian Borle (Vox): A two-time Tony winner - Patina Miller (Sera): A Tony-winning actress To answer another question: I do believe Charlie is one the younger side (early-mid 20s???) I don't think an exact age was ever said and might have just been inferred by pre-show timeline events but I'm not certain so don't quote me on that. I know she ages differently since she's not human (she's the daughter of Lucifer who is essentially immortal) so chronologically she's "old" by human standard but young-ish biologically. I've heard other people compare her to Hell's version of a Disney princess and I definitely thought of that when you were trying to replicate her high note and you sounded kinda like Snow White lol. I had honestly never heard of Erika Henningsen before this show but her voice has given my chills multiple times throughout this show so I am very much a fan now. Also this show leans a lot towards biblical mythology. I have never seen the show Lucifer so I don't know how well that follows biblical mythology but the reason Lucifer in this clip and in the show has six large wings is because he is an Archangel/seraphim as opposed to other/lesser angels that only have 2 wings. Vivienne doesn't follow the bible verbatim, and she also has inspirations from other sources like Dante's Inferno and voodoo-like practices. It's basically a patchwork quilt of whatever fits her headcanon regardless of whether or not in real life these religions/cultures overlap. She tries not to copy any specific religion/culture outright because she doesn't want to offend anyone and I think she's done a good job of putting her own spin on things but that's just my opinion. It is SUPER LGBTQ+ inclusive and I literally cannot find a single thing to critique about it other than I wish it had more episodes per season. I really hope that you enjoy this show and I am looking forward to your reactions on it. Side note: The cast and crew of this show is amazing and you can just feel that they have a lot of fun together. I got to meet some of them at a panel earlier this year and they were all SO incredibly nice and down to earth. The creator, Vivienne Medrano, in particular is very humble and sometimes still can't believe that a show she started coming up with in high school blew up the way that it has. I don't know if you have ever heard of or seen the 2001 Nickelodeon show called Invader Zim but Vivienne was very inspired by that show and if you are familiar with it you can see the inspiration in the art style she went with. She created all of the original character designs for Hazbin Hotel and still remains heavily involved in the creative process.

CAST COMMENTS (no spoilers on plot). I'm just giving you roles and who you might know them from The Cast is absolutely amazing. Though you should be aware that Jeremy Jordan's part in season 1 is pretty small, he has a bigger part in season 2. Alex Brightman who plays both Sir Pentious (the snake briefly seen in this clip but not saying anyhing) and Adam (as in Adam and Eve). Alex Brightman you might know as Broadway's Beetlejuice. Season 2 adds Abel (as in Cain & Abel, Adam's son) as Patrick Stump (lead singer of Fall Out Boy). Keith David (Husk) as mentioned in the thing you read was in Princess and the Frog (as the Villain Dr. Facilier. Since you didn't seem to remember Kimiko Glenn, she's teh voice of Peni Parker in the Spider-Verse movies, but she has an illustrious career with lots of voices, lately she's most known as the voice of Baby Shark in the various shows and movies based on that franchise, so she has a very small cutsy voice, while also being a bit creepy sounding in the show. you mentioned Erika (main character Charlie Morningstar has a very broadway voice, which yeah, she's done a LOT on Broadway. She's been FantinPenny Pingleton in Hairspray, Roxie Hart in Chicago, both Cosette and Fantine in Les Mis, Sophie in Mamma Mia, Cady in Mean Girls (original cast), so yeah, very broadway. Other incredible voices in this show: - Christian Borle as Vox (a long illustrious career on Broadway and on film, he originaited the role of Prince Herbert in Spamalot, Emmett in Legally Blonde, was in the revival of Falsettos which I saw him in, he was great. He was also in Smash so that might be recognizable for you. - Jessica Vosk as Lute, she has been Elphaba on Broadway so... yeah. - James Monroe Iglehart as Zestial (Original Genie in Broadway's Aladdin, also played Jefferson/Lafayette in Hamilton - Daphne Rubin-Vega as Carmilla Carmine (the original Mimi from Rent) - Darren Criss as Saint Peter (I don't think I need to tell you who he is) - Alex Newell as Zeezi (you'll know Alex as Unique from Glee and Mo from Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist, but they also won a Tony for their role in Shucked)

Aster

Also this show has a sister show, Helluva Boss (which is entirely available on Youtube and mostly takes place on the other 6 rings of hell) which also has a ridiculously stacked cast including of all people Kesha though because of rights issue she only provides the speaking voice for her character, someone else sings the song, although she did cowrite the song with the writing staff. Others in Helluva Boss include a much bigger role for James Monroe Iglehart as Asmodeus, Patrick Page as Satan, Jonathan Freeman as various characters (he was the voice of Jafar in... well pretty much everything except the live action movie and once upon a time, he even played the role on Broadway), and the always fabulous Jinkx Monsoon

Jess Romero

You NEED to watch this show! All of the voice actors are the singers. It's amazing.

I grew up Catholic and still practice when I’m with my family, but I don’t know/remember a lot of stories from the Bible, nor do I believe in everything that my religion teaches. I think it’s neat when movies or shows have their own interpretations of things like this. I like to think of it like when people are interpreting other types of mythology, such as Greek/Roman and Norse mythology. I mean, all of this stuff has been around for hundreds, if not thousands of years, so there are bound to be some things that won’t be completely accurate to the source material. Also, this is a fictional TV show that has elements from the Christian religion and leans a lot towards biblical mythology, but as someone said, the show creator didn’t only use that as her source of inspiration. WARNING: LUCIFER TV SHOW POSSIBLE SPOILERS: In the TV show “Lucifer”, Lucifer Morning Star’s dad is God, not Satan (Satan or the devil are one of Lucifer’s “aliases”). Lucifer’s the former Archangel Samael, and he’s not the same as the Archangel Michael (his older, identical twin brother). Lucifer also has his wings (only 2) cut off, and at one point gets them back. The show “Lucifer” loosely follows biblical mythology with some changes and its own interpretation of things.

Will there be more here or is it going to be only early access?
