During the flashbacks at the beginning, Katherine couldn’t compel anyone because she was shot up with vervain and all of the founders also took vervain. Vervain prevents compulsion.

Personally I think Damon lied to Stefan in that last scene. I think he was upset that Katherine chose them both but mainly he was upset that Stefan forced him to turn. I think he wanted to make Stefan feel better.

Imagine you’re 500–600 years old (based on Pearl saying she’s over 400 years older than Damon and must have had Anna during her lifetime) and you’re (still) into teenage boys. Still into their naivety and the fact that they’re a bit awkward and clueless in bed. So let’s just put the age aside for a moment because that’s just WTF in any vampire story. I also watched you reading all those comments and I forgot how biased the tvd fandom actually is towards Damon. They will defend him against every shitty thing he does just cause he’s charismatic. I never never ever liked him. Mostly skipped his scenes. You were right when you said very clearly he RAPED Caroline. Cause he did. Thank you for calling that out against a comment that tried to sugarcoat it and pretend it didn’t happen that way. I never connected with his character and the only thing saving him for me is his humor. I will always prefer Stefan all the way even if he never dated Elena. I hope you enjoy the rest of the show!!! btw: The Originals is SO MUCH BETTER. If you thought this was intense oh boy wail til you watch that one. Everyone was consumed by their role and the acting is amazing. One of my favorite tv shows ever. Way better than TVD
