AHHH YAY!!! BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE 😁🍋

kittyboy

first of all, I’m in 10 min in and I’m already dying 😭 I wish I was drinking along side u but its definitely making this slow day at work more fun lol

22843

Please tell me you are going to react to the Lemonade movie because it is a transcendental experience and the context of the album isn’t complete without it

Valencia

Omg I’m so excited to watch this!

I Am Not Chamari

Yup she confirms in the video that she’ll be watching the visual album!

fry

can’t wait to get off work and watch this

Erwin 𐚁

The addition vocals you hear on “Don’t Hurt Yourself” are Jack White.

Erwin 𐚁

The male vocal on “6 Inch” is The Weeknd. The bridge and outro are amazing on this track!

Angel Romero

Can’t wait for the visuals

mary-anne

cant wait for your reaction to the visuals!! it just adds SOOO much more to the album and takes you on such a journey! Beyoncé has such an artistically creative mind and she’s insanely good at telling a story through both her music and her visuals. you’re going to be BLOWN away 😩

Malik

Omg yay. Are you going to eventually react to all of her albums? Because you should react to her self titled album for sure and everything else before.

Tennille

The sample you hear in the backing and instrumental of 6 Inch is from Isaac Hayes Walk on By.

ReRe

To your point of “This is me now”, I get so irritated with people who say, I want the “old Beyoncé back. She will never be the old Beyoncé becomes she is a human and ever evolving. I feel grateful that her art is uniquely hers because her art is about her life.

Erwin 𐚁

Forward features James Blake Freedom features Kendrick Lamar

Matt

She has not confirmed who Jay cheated with. Becky is just a basic name (possibly basic white girl) that she put in there. That's one reason why I love her. Even at her lowest, she knows her power. If she would have called out whoever it was it'd probably ruin their life. And like she's just so aware. But this album is just a masterpiece. At first listen, it is clearly about the relationship drama, but it also is discussing the racial injustices in the US and the relationship between black americans and society in general. It's just insane that her and her team could even put together something so perfect. Lastly, you have to put the Freedom BET performance on your list! The energy and the innovation of the performance is just unmatched!

Valencia

You said Pretty Hurts, sandcastles and love drought was on here, I swear I looked 5 times I can’t find it

fry

i love how you call cuff it “fuck up the night” 😂

Antoinette

Lol you thought Formation was Partition I love that.

Erwin 𐚁

Under membership is listed the song and month it’s going to posted. I think Pretty Hurts is March and Love Drought/Sandcastles is April.

Dominique

Honestly my favorite album of hers, I'm a sucker for concept albums and I love how it tells the story start to finish 🙌🏾 also to add a little context after Lemonade, Jay Z put out 4:44 in which he also describes his feelings about almost losing his family and then after that they released a joint album called "Everything is Love" by The Carters where they solidify how they've come back together and are a power couple. They then went on the On The Run II tour together and it was honestly one of the best concerts I've ever been to! This was such an era

Valencia

Okay so it’s not uploaded yet, thank you. I was so confused 😫

Erwin 𐚁

Beyoncé said this in a 2018 Vogue piece: She comes "from a lineage of broken male-female relationships, abuse of power, and mistrust", including a slave owner who married a slave. "Only when I saw that clearly was I able to resolve those conflicts in my own relationship. Connecting to the past and knowing our history makes us both bruised and beautiful."

Erwin 𐚁

A lot of good performances are coming!!!

fry

i don't think the media ever caught on to any cheating and the gp was unaware until this album was released although maybe people speculated something after the iconic tmz elevator video

Love Drought...if you could translate the "emotional damage" meme to song this would be it! I was happily married with a kid and a successful career when this album came out and by the way I reacted you would've thought I was Angela Bassett in Waiting to Exhale. Drug up all KINDS of old relationship trauma. The way I always took it: "if I wasn't me would you still feel me...or am I not thirsty enough" references her status as BEYONCÉ. She's asking him if he is just staying with her because of who and what she is and if she was a regular woman would she have to be one of the "thirsty" ones (aka a groupie or an industry h@#). Also looked at it as him wanting the blind adoration or "thirst" a groupie/industry-bae type woman would provide instead of a relationship with an "equal" like her.

fry

throwback to when adele won aoty and gave an amazing speech about lemonade lol

Erwin 𐚁

Still need her to break down the acapella and remix of Cuff It

Erwin 𐚁

What a moment that was. And back stage when she said: “What the Fuck Does She Have to Do to Win Album of the Year?”

Matt

Lmao I mean I guess it was confirmed after the OTR II Resentment performance 😂

shan

1) i always loved that daddy lessons was such a departure musically because it felt like this quick dive into her family to see why beyonce reacted the way she did. it felt to me almost like this flashback. it's AMAZING and heartbreaking. 2) when she sings "what is it about you" in sandcastles i wanna sob each and every time. 3) in daddy lessons when i hear "watch out for your sister" and then i remember solange trying to fly kick jay z in the elevator it makes me very emotional bc like clearly it goes both ways and they just love each other so much and i'm just so proud of solange for fly kicking him like she did that FOR US 4) it hard to explain when this album came out how it like switched something in my brain. it was just so culturally important, not bc the album was such as symbol of black female power and black feminism but bc we hadn't ever gotten so intimate with beyonce except for knowing that she'd had a miscarriage. that's also why in sorry when she says 'my baby is gonna have a good life' it felt so personal bc like we'd all seen her fight for that baby and knew how much she wanted to be a mother and have a family with jay z. 5) SNL did a great version of sorry about donald trump and melania: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uJBL7kuzvsg 6) beyonce is such a real one for putting us all through the emotional wringer like that and then being like 'here, have formation and dance it out'.

Dana (Dah-Nah)

the way you'd absolutely LOVE 'Beyoncé - All Night live at Tidal X 1015'

DecemberArtis

So for context also on JT’s Suit and Tie which Jay Z was featured on. There are lyrics that talk about how (I assume) Tina and Matthew were never fond of Jay so I’m sure there was talks behind the scenes about how she should just leave him be.

ShesGotGame01110

Genius Lyrics has good explanations of what all of the terms mean. I’m only 40 minutes it so she may have gotten there but wanted to comment as I was thinking about it. Whoadies - friends from her neighborhood (came from “wardy” in NOLA; since it’s separated by ward. Boppers - women that chase men of a certain status

alishay carp

The remix is “Baby making music” Audrey voice🤣

Fawzi Shihadeh

You have to see the movie for this album bc it is so well made and the spoken words throughout really well the story

Carla Johnson

The way I can’t stop watching this performance ever since I discovered it last week. 🙌🏾 I hope she reacts to it!

Carla Johnson

I’m fairly new to Beyonce and have fallen in love with the way you analyze her amazing singing style. It’s funny bc this is why I’ve given her music a closer listen rather than me discovering it in my own. Thank you so much for your analysis, seriously!

Alex

I don't know if anyone mentioned it already but I always see people say she should've left Jay but she actually did. Early in their relationship before they got married, she broke up with him to focus on her career. The details are hazy but she also left him after the cheating she references in this album. She just like up and left the country apparently and Jay was freaking out trying to find her and do whatever he could to fix their marriage. That's when they moved from nyc to la and a bunch of changes happened. It becomes more clear when you listen to 4:44 by Jay and then Everything Is Love, which they made together. I love the added context that while they did reconcile, Jay had to work his ass off for it.

Erwin 𐚁

LOVEHAPPY spilled all the tea

Erwin 𐚁

Omg how exciting. Which have been your favorite performances so far?

Erwin 𐚁

You can truly feel the love she has during that performance 🖤

Alex

I love that song and the lil peak at Bey’s attitude. They were being super open that whole era.

m

Thanks for this I just watched it because I didn’t know you updated the timing on the same post I thought it would be posted as a separate post lol😭

I Am Not Chamari

She gave us a sneak peek of her calendar at 1:07:02. From what I can tell, Pretty Hurts is March 18. Love Drought/Sandcastles is the Grammy performance which is scheduled for April 14.

Tennille

Funny thing about Love Drought - Ingrid Burley is the writer of that song and she said the song is actually about her frustration with Parkwood at the time. It’s trippy because it’s my favorite song on the album and it seems to apply to Bey’s life and ties into the theme of the album so well. But after hearing Ingrid’s breakdown of the lyrics I can’t listen to Love Drought anymore without thinking about it 😩😂

I Am Not Chamari

I don’t know if anyone’s already said it, but the lady at the end of Freedom talking about turning her lemons to lemonade was Jay Z’s grandmother on her 90th birthday celebration. Also, it was so fun seeing you being confused by the Sorry demo lol That’s why it’s a demo! Haha It was released long after the album was. Lemonade came out in 2016, but it was put on streaming for the first time in 2019, coinciding with the three year anniversary of the album. That’s when she added the song and when fans first heard it. To be fair, it’s a pretty complete demo to the point where it sounds like a real song - I wonder if the original demo actually sounded like that or if they buffed it up for release. Either way, it was clear that this was the foundation for Sorry, although instead of “I ain’t sorry” being at the center of the song “Big homie better grow up” seemed to be at the center. And, of course, a lot of the music changed and ultimately the Sorry we got fit into the album more and slotted nicely between don’t hurt yourself and 6 inch. This Sorry demo probably would have been successful after Daddy Lessons and before Love Drought.

JLeo Galarreta

Yes!! You are right!! they did spend a lot of time in therapy. Jay Z said it in an interview. Both did their best for the sake of their family. ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹

Monica 🌔

I finally found time to watch this after a cross country move and I’m so over the moon that you loved it!!!! Beyonce truly exemplifies artistic risk taking. She is so radical in her themes and in her honesty. Can’t wait for you to dive into Self Titled and the visuals for both! Prepare to be awestruck.

Kiara Townsend

Next please react to the carters album

Just Tika

In that song all night, I took that my torture became my remedy line to mean that she made the decision to look inside herself and stop torturing herself and thinking that she was the one that had to fix everything and that something was wrong with her. She saw that it was necessary for him to do the work if they were going to make it, and if he truly loved her, he would and because he did and she was able to see the scars, she was able to forgive him by baptizing his tears, which is forgiving him and moving forward with loving each other because no one else was ever a threat to their relationship. They did have issues they needed to fix to be able to love each other the way each other deserves

Rick Sanchez

Great video, I loved your reactions! I think you'd love the LEMONADE Film that accompanied this album - it's a great visualization of the album with more poetic context added by Bey, and it's simply a cinematic masterpiece!
