How many clicks does it take to get to the center of the clicker? 🤔

I have a hooting release for you today: The Who's Hoot family of owls! I know there are a lot of bird people out there, so wanted to try my hand at a bird clicker! I thought the owl, with all it's wisdom, was a perfect place to start! This pack includes 1 adult owl design and a 4 baby owls with varying eyes / markings!

I had a hootin' good time designing these and hope you love them as much as I do!🦉

Like most of my designs, this is a clicky design that requires a mechanical keyboard switch to make the clicky part. These models have been tested with both the Kailh Bronze and Kailh White clickers but the White clickers are much nicer in my opinion. This design should be compatible with most MX style keyboard switches, however, the two metal contacts on the bottom of the switch must be clipped off flush (or folded over) to ensure the switch seats properly in the base (this is a destructive process). A 7mm keyring file is included as well as a larger, 3.5mm diameter keyring hole to allow a beaded chain to be used!

This pack contains 5 unique owl faces and 2 clicker bases for a total of 5 owl designs! There is only one cap face for the adult owl but the baby owls have 4 different faces, 3 with eyes open and slightly different coloring and the 4th with the eyes closed. The base is provided with the standard keychain configurations, none, 7mm and 3.5 diameter keyring.

(all caps are saved as .3mf only)

3D Printing Settings:

Layer Height: 0.2mm (recommended)

External Perimeter (Outer Wall): 0.33mm (recommended)

Scale: 100% (Everything is modeled with tight tolerances and should not need to be resized)

Orientation: Print the caps face down so you have a smooth surface for clicking! (recommended)

NOTE: I've found the best way to get the most crisp details on the faces is to start with the smallest details first and work up from there. Here is the order I recommend after LOTS of trial and error:

White (Pupils)

Black (Eyes)

Orange (Nose)

Accent color (Face/feathers)

Everything else (base colors)

I've also found hitting the print with a heat gun right before the main body color starts printing will eliminate any little strings that can cause blemishes on the final design.

⚠️WARNING⚠️ - This pack requires very good bed adhesion to ensure the best possible results for your finished clicker. It is recommended to clean your bed with soap and water before printing or whatever your specific printer manufacturer recommends for a deep bed clean!

I'm having a hard time with the download files. They load face up but then when I flip them the "faces" don't move with them. Its like I have 9 objects on the plate together.

Ok! So when you open it in Bambu labs for example, you'll get a pop-up asking if you want to open as a project or import geometry, click import geometry. Then you might get a pop-up saying some objects are too small and asking if you want to scale to millimeters, click No. Finally, you'll get a pop-up saying you are importing multiple objects and asking if you want to load as a single object, click Yes. Let me know if that doesn't fix the issue!
