Did you wind up leaving the shadow out? Or do you think if I wanted to finish this painting I need the shadow?

Hi Ken, I have recently become your supporter and I want to congratulate you on your way of teaching. Your passion is very motivating and I am happy to have found you. I love your style and following you as you paint is exciting and very informative. I live in Italy and I can't find schellac here. I would like to try the method you describe, but I don't think I can achieve the same result with an acrylic primer, do I? Thank you for your generosity in teaching, I appreciate it very much!
