"It's time to go." Nanami called waving you to the tri-colored horse.

Getou snorted looking between you two, "Alright then, keep your secrets." He drifted to his horse as you looked at Gojo.

“You know too much candy can upset one’s stomach.” Nanami chided. “Let’s rest here and I’ll make you some tea.”

You thought about it for a moment. You were tempted to say no but then again, you did have to drag out the journey just a little so you could get to Aika on time. This could be a good thing. And let’s be honest, you most certainly needed a break from being plugged up.

Setting up camp, Getou and Toge stuck the lanterns in the ground to keep up the veil. Gojo helped you off your horse, he released a snicker setting you down.

The blonde nodded. “Good.”

You sipped your drink while peering into the crackling fire.

Your alphas had idle chit-chat about combat.

“It is creeper season, so we should try to avoid them .”

Sukuna snorted, “Why? Just shoot the bastard out of the sky and slice him to bits.”

“They are strong nocturnal creatures Sukuna, it would be difficult for us to fight it.”

The two argued back and forth about the most optimal decision when fighting the creeper, a creature that only comes out during the spring to feast but hibernates the rest of the year. They were quite strong.

Luckily you weren’t anywhere near a creeper den. You won’t have to worry about that until you travel south, Nanami had nothing to worry about. You thought about this to yourself but you will play as if you don’t know that information as a fact. “If we use fire and my light spells we should be okay. If we run into one. If we find a den in the morning it would be best to kill it then and there so we can expose it to the sun. It’s weaker in the morning. Also, flash bangs work on them so night bugs would be good to collect along the way. While we are at it we might as well collect anything that can help us, I mean we have unlimited inventory.” You finish drinking the rest of your tea. “Also, I’m pretty sure I read somewhere that most creepers live south in warmer climates.”

“So what you are saying is we shouldn’t run away right?” Sukuna grinned.

 “If we are talking in technicalities no we shouldn’t. They will terrorize travelers so I think it would be best for us to take care of them. We would be much more suited for it than some poor person.”

“Ha told you, why the hell am I going to run away from a challenge anyway?”

Nanami nodded, “I can see what you are saying dear but that is quite different from Sukuna’s perspective.”

“Yeah, I would definitely tell someone else to run away especially if you are alone. A creeper is not something you want to underestimate kuna.”

“Yeah yeah yeah~ tell me what you would do if you were fighting a windigo?”

“They’re fast so I would say try to entrap it or slow it down and then blast it to hell. I believe they are weak to light magic and ice.”

“Fire too.”

“Eh~ it’s good against them but light magic and ice work best.”

“I don’t have those.”

You mentally facepalmed. “Yes… and if you find yourself alone then I suggest you retreat and wait for us. These creatures are tough and if we fight we do it together and never alone. Don’t be foolish Sukuna please.” You put a lot of emphasis on the last word because you know what his silly brain is probably thinking.

He’s probably thinking he doesn’t need you guys and he can handle everything himself. You hoped he will not let that cockiness get him in trouble.

You stayed up with them a bit longer as they talked about more strategies and fighting styles. You did your best to say you ‘read’ about certain things so Sukuna didn’t try to discredit you any time you sided with Nanami.

Nanami thought of your safety first and foremost while Sukuna just wanted to know how to kill his enemies. He could not understand why he couldn’t be the solution for everything. Using fire, a spear and the ability to slice anything into a million pieces was unfortunately not the answer for them all. And putting your trust in your teammates- according to Sukuna- is just unheard of.

You leaned against Nanami’s shoulder as your eyes began to drift close.

“Go to bed little bird.” He whispered to you softly.

“Mm…” you think you were going to say something more tangible but you were more tired than you thought. Nanami released a light laugh before he started purring for you. You felt him lift you and then place you inside your tent. You had blankets, pillows and their things placed inside to make a nice mini nest. You purred getting comfortable as Nanami kissed your cheek goodnight.

You slept well until your cozy slumber was disturbed when you felt someone tap on your thigh.

“Hmmm~.” You groaned peeling your eyes open to see Gojo halfway in your tent, morning sun shining behind him.
