House of Alphas Chapter 34: Funeral Party? (Patreon)
Content
Your stomach felt uneasy as you stared at your food. Fork between your fingers but you were unable to truly eat. You pretended to do so as your alphas conversed.
“The people don’t know where the cursed spirits came from.”
“Perhaps they were released by a Shikigami user?”
“I scouted the area there was no one else nearby.”
“Well someone had to cast the spell.”
That was one thing you never did find out. The curses were released upon the town by Mahito but you don’t know how such a thing occurred. Usually, he would transform them just by touching someone and then lock them up to be released. Perhaps he let them go and then took off but wouldn’t his scent linger even after a day?
Or someone else released them for him, but who?
Nanami spoke low as he leaned in, “Maybe it was someone within the town, but I’m not sure.”
That was your thoughts exactly. Maybe in the game the person died and that’s why you never find out. Although you can’t fathom any of these people attacking their own home, especially with the way they fought. There had to be something missing.
Someone came up to the table to praise you as the conversation shifted.
“We will discuss this later…” Getou dismissed the conversation while more people came outside to join the feast.
You were squished in the middle of Gojo and Nanami on the uncomfortably thin wooden bench.
Your other alphas sat across from you eating their food, except Sukuna of course…
You don’t know why but you couldn’t get the image of him eating that heart out of your mind. All you could think about was the fallen alpha whose omega was crying for him. Did he eat him? That poor soldier? He was dead though so it shouldn’t matter right?
But why did it?
It made you feel weird… it’s not like Sukuna’s cannibalism wasn’t in your face when you played the game. Because it truly was. You just didn’t care about it as much, it was behind a screen. You would even have him eat people on the battlefield to regain health. However, it was different now. It was… too close to home. What if he eats someone you know? What if something were to happen to someone you know? One of your alphas or betas dies along the journey (you discreetly knock on the wooden table)…Would he just… eat them? Were people just body bags he was waiting to die so he could feast?
You did your best to not think about it. You truly did… but the food you were glaring at just looked a bit too red… like a beating heart.
Was it moving?
“My alphas! Please accept this gift!” An old man bowed politely as he offered a staff.
Ah, the staff of healing. The first item you get in the game for Dove. It helps the user heal within a circle. Weak heals but great if you need a good AoE* cover.
“Thank you for this gracious offering.” Nanami and everyone bowed their heads as the staff was shoved into the inventory worm.
The people came bearing whatever little thing they had.
You felt bad accepting the presents especially since they might need them more than you. The only reason you looked past it is because you knew you wouldn’t be able to survive this journey if you didn’t collect some money or gear. You can level up all you want but upgrades cost mooooney. Perhaps when you scavenge dungeons and loot areas for more things you don’t have to worry about crystals too much and maybe then you could give back to the people.
For now, you shall bite your tongue.
“Does the food taste alright?” Momo questioned. She leaned past Gojo to your left.
“Yes, it does.” You nodded hoping no one was paying attention to you. “Thank you.”
“You barely ate.” Gojo raised a brow as he looked at your very full wooden bowl.
“I ate something earlier.”
“No, you didn’t.” Inumaki spoke casually.
You gapped at Inumaki who was sitting by Momo. Why must he always run you over with a carriage? It’s like he didn’t even notice he was doing it!
Now you knew you had alphas looking at you with concern.
Toji spoke while chewing, eyebrows displeased with your lie, “Baby why aren’t you eating?”
“Uh…” you scratched your head lightly trying to breeze by this, “I just have a little stomach ache that’s all.” With a glance, you smiled at them. “I’m good, I promise.” With the swift scan of your eyes, you caught Sukuna glaring at you with that all-telling look.
That you ignored.
Nanami put a hand upon your back, “Would you like to go lie down-“
“Helloooo~ prime alphas and my lady~!”
You looked up as a woman who was very drunk approached your table. Her face flushed red and her arms were full with a crate of wine.
“Mom…” Junpei trailed after looking embarrassed, his cheeks rosy and not from alcohol.
“Junpei honey~ I’m just giving our saviors a lovely treat! Hup!” She threw the box on top of the table as the bottles clanked together. She slapped a hand on top of it as she grinned, “The finest wine I have to offer, for you~!” She popped open the box, throwing up a bottle she caught it in her hand like a trickster and began to serve everyone.
“And what is this?” Gojo made a face as he sniffed the drink.
“Wine! Too celebrate! For you my dear~!”
You let out a little giggle as she poured a cup for you, she reminded you a lot of Shoko.
“I don’t think we should drink this…” Nanami murmured.
“Is she trying to poison us…”
You hit the two of them with your elbows, “Be nice.”
“Hmm…” Nanami grumbled while the woman finished her rounds.
“This smells like death.” Getou hissed low.
“Pfft- and you guys say Raven is spoiled.” Momo scoffed.
“Yes, can you all just drink it!” You spoke softly so the others wouldn’t hear. It seemed like this was the drink of choice for the village. They eagerly filled their cups up.
“Toji doesn’t have any.” Gojo pointed out.
“He doesn’t drink alcohol-“
“I don’t drink alcohol-“
Toji grinned, “How did you know that?”
“Heh~ I've never seen you drink it. Not even at the welcome party.” Certainly didn’t know that from the game.
Gojo crossed his arms, “I don’t drink alcohol either.”
“Yes, you do.”
“I’m turning over a new spell.”
“Satoru.”
“A toast!” The woman yelled as she stood up front.
You smiled holding up yours, giving your alphas a look as they begrudgingly held up their wine. You pushed up Gojo’s arm while you were at it.
“YEAH NAGI!” The people cheered.
“Hehe~ But First…we must remember the fallen…” She poured some wine on the ground as she spoke the names of those who had passed until she finished an entire bottle. “…We will always remember those that are not with us…, may Tengen guide them in the spirit realm…and now…FOR OUR HOUSE OF ALPHAS AND BRAVE OMEGA!”
The flip back and forth was a little weird to you but you tried to not think about it as you accepted the cheering and then drank down the bitter liquid.
“NGH-“ it was gross. Tasted like cough medicine. You held back your pained expression, gulping it down as cheers went off.
Gojo was eyeing you with disgust written on his own face. “Disgusting.”
“D-delicious.” You choked out.
“I’d rather drink Nekiya.” Nanami coughed out.
“Wait…” Getou drawled, “Why didn’t Sukuna drink any?”
Sukuna rolled his eyes, “I don’t drink shit.”
“Oi! He gets a free spell?!”
You sighed deeply. Such spoiled brats.
“LET’S DRINK!” The woman exclaimed coming around with more wine.
Gojo whined. “Fucking kill me.”
“If this doesn’t kill you first.” Your blonde muttered.
“Alright fine!” You huff, “Pour it out in secret at least! And take mine too!”

You don’t know how a town can go from being terrorized by cursed spirits to drinking and singing like drunken sailors.
You could only assume they were used to it.
Death. That is. A natural thing amongst the people. Or maybe this was just their way of coping… or celebrating being alive. There wasn’t a celebration within the game though. Too many had died…it was a tragic event. Maybe that’s why you didn’t mind partying with the townspeople. Because you knew that they were once dead in another life.
Hell, you’d probably celebrate too if you knew that piece of information.
You danced with your alphas, other omegas, and betas along with Junpei’s mother whose name you’d found out was Nagi. She was a wild carefree woman that loved her son very much. That much you could tell just from talking to her. Smoking and drinking while shouting and dancing. She most certainly was the life of the party. Everyone loved her.
Seeing her, along with the others express so much joy gave you a sense of duty. This was your purpose. To protect those who could not.
Now that this village was saved it was time to head north to find a witch, get this thing off you, and finish the game… and then… your thoughts drifted from you, you didn’t like to think about the ever after.
You floated away from the crowd, feeling a bit tired. It had been an extremely long day. You had ridden straight here with little to no breaks, jumped straight into action, aided the village, and partied till you couldn’t party anymore.
You were within one word…exhausted.
Nagi noticed your weary eyes stopping as she grabbed you lightly, “Are you okay?”
“Yes…” your stomach was feeling worse than before. Maybe you shouldn’t have drunk that alcohol on an empty stomach. Well, you had a few bites to eat… but apparently, it wasn’t enough to soak up the cheap booze. Or maybe it was the drink itself making you woozy. It might be that last one. You don’t think anyone should consume that stuff. “…I’m just a little tired.”
“Ah! Of course! Junpei come here!” She waved her son over-enthusiastically as Junpei. She grabbed him, bringing him closer before he could get to you on his own. “You can sleep in our home!”
“Huh?” Junpei seemed to be just as shocked as you.
“Why yes! The inns are full of people who are still waiting for their homes to be rebuilt. It would be nice to have people over we’ll even make breakfast before you go!”
Junpei looked annoyed but you could tell it was playful, “We? I didn’t know we volunteered to become the inn?”
“Uh, it’s fine-“
“Wah! We must show hospitality to those that saved our asses!”
You let the two argue but it was over before it even began. Junpei conceeded with a long ‘fine’ and then Nagi cheered. “Please show her to the guest room!”
“NAGI~~~”
“Coming~!”
You watched the woman go as Junpei looked toward you with a nervous rub of his neck. “I…I apologize on behalf of my mother…”
The young man was so nervous speaking to you, a shy omega with constant red cheeks. It was adorable.
“You have no worries, she’s celebrating her life… and yours.”
“No…she’s like this half the time…”
“Oh~ ha! Well, do I have someone she needs to meet.”
“Is she just as wild as her?”
“They might be twins, you sure you don’t have a long lost aunt named Shoko?”
The boy's eyes lit up, everyone and their parents knew the famous drunken doctor Shoko,” Are you kidding? She’s my mother's idol. I’m sure she’d sell me for a cup of grata.”
You let out a little laugh as the boy appeared to be smitten by the sound. Out of the corner of your eye, you could see about five heads turn your way. Yet you ignored them, keeping your attention to the person you were having a conversation with. All this damn commotion and your alphas had the sense to hear your light laugh like a lone bell in the night.
Can someone spell Obsessive?
“Let me speak with my alphas.” You moved toward the closest ones, Suguru and Gojo. “Hey…Nagi offered her home for us to stay.”
Suguru nodded toward someone in the crowd, “So did the village chief. And no offense sweetie but I do not wish to sleep on whatever that woman has to offer. If she calls that toxic waste wine I couldn’t bear to see what she considers a bed.”
You huffed putting your fists on your hips, “It cannot be worse than sleeping outside.”
Gojo raised a brow, “You're kidding right? Our tents are royalty compared to some of these homes.”
Maybe you should have spoken to Toji and Sukuna first. They aren’t nearly this preppy as your princess alphas.
“Okay, I’m going to sleep at Nagi’s home, you guys may sleep wherever you want.”
“Huh-“ They blanked at your statement as you walked away.
“Come on Junpei.” You smiled at the omega as he began to walk with you.
“Where the fuck is she going?” You heard Sukuna’s loud voice, but you didn’t turn back. You will allow your other alphas to explain to him.
“Um… are your alphas okay with this? They look…upset.”
“Ah~ they will be fine~ah~!” You yawned big. You were going to sleep, it’s not like you were going off to roll around with Junpei. You let out a little laugh. Fine. That’s what you always think when dealing with your Yandere boys. Truth be told you never know. They’ll be fine has suddenly become your famous last words of irony.
Junpei looked at you with an amused smile, “What’s so funny?”
“Nothing… I mean…well… it’s just my alphas. They are funny. Big and strong but constantly worry about me and what I’m doing. I can bet they are following us right now.
Junpei looked back to confirm they were indeed trailing after you. “Yeah… wow that must be…suffocating.”
“Eh~ at first it kind of was but now not so much. Is that why you haven’t found an alpha? Do you find them suffocating?”
“Um… they are a bit… overwhelming.”
The understatement of the century.
“Yes they can be but they will do everything they can to protect you.“
Junpei let out a little puff of air, “Like you need it…”
“Hm?”
The omega didn’t elaborate as he opened the door to his home and let you in. You let the silence stretch as you walked deeper inside the small abode.
The awkward silence was deafening, “What do you mean?” You tried to understand.
He stopped to look toward you with his head held down. “…Omegas…we are supposed to be weak and yet you… you killed that thing with one spell and I couldn’t even stop it. If you weren’t…if you didn’t…” his face scrunched up in pain as he tried to shut out his tears.
“Hey hey~ it’s okay…shh…” you walked closer to the omega bringing him down into a hug, you purred softly and rubbed his back as he cried. His scent smelt earthy… like a rainy day.
“If-if you weren’t here- she-“
“Shh… I know I know…”
The wood creaked behind you as your alphas stepped in. You could see the look on their faces when they found the house to be rather small, poor toji had to duck to get inside, his head almost touched the roof.
‘Really?’ Gojo mouthed and threw up his hands.
You pointed toward the guest room still holding Junpei, to your chest. ‘GET IN THERE!’
They looked like they were ready to argue but Toji and Nanami pushed them all toward the room without further ado.
“I-I wish I was as strong as you-“ the wallowing omega sniffled.
You could feel his aura of anxiety push on you like a heavyweight. You never had to deal with a distressed omega but usually, within the home, the others would take them to their nest.
“Come on Junpei… let’s go lie down.” You moved with the boy, sniffing out which room was his. It was the last door. “May I enter your nest Junpei?”
It took him a moment to get himself together before he nodded, “Y-you may.”
Opening the door you found that it was just a room with blankets and pillows on the floor and a wooden trunk on the side. Goodness… if this was what the guest room looks like you just knew your alphas were about to lose their shit.
“Here…” You helped the omega upon his nest, slotting yourself with him as you purred and cooed sweetly.
He didn’t say much else, his face within your chest, wetting the fabric. You were no longer in your battle gear but dressed in your usual purple gown. You walked around with a change stone just in case you needed to switch your gear on. The outfit wasn’t uncomfortable… it was just very revealing … stupid sexy armor.
You sat with the omega for some time, until he had fallen asleep. You heard the floor squeak a few times, followed by someone whining. Lifting your head you could see the dark shadow underneath the door. Breathing deeply you were able to smell the sandalwood scent mixed with cinnamon.
Sukuna.
If it wasn’t for the room being an omegas nest he probably would have already come in to grab you.
You sighed, looking down at Junpei, he looked angelic as he slept. Slowly you moved him and slid out of bed. You felt bad for leaving but the stench of anxious, jealous alphas might make him feel worse. Tiptoeing to the door you opened it to find that you were right, it was Sukuna waiting for you.
He looked rather annoyed. “Do you have a thing for omegas?”
You huff, “Were you whining?”
“Tch- no that was him.”
Looking to your left you find Nanami was also waiting for you on the floor. He got up, scanning you over, “Are you alright?”
“Yes… I am… why were you whining?”
The blonde looked a bit saddened, “I know you are a free spirit little bird but we don’t particularly like for you to be in someone’s nest. Especially one we don’t really know.”
Sukuna got low to glare at you, “You run in there because of me? If you’re mad at me just fucking say it.”
“No- what? Sukuna why would I…oh- no! No, I'm not upset about that or trying to make you guys worried-“ ugh for Tengen's sake your alphas…“I’m sorry Nanami…Sukuna.” You dropped your gaze, “…I just…”
“I know…” Nanami pulled you close so that he could kiss your temple, “…you have a good heart dear. I know. You were just helping. One of the many things I love about you but if I’m being honest it also scares me.”
“You’re going to get taken advantage of, stop being so nice.” Sukuna hissed. “I know because I watched you give all your shit away the first week you ran away.”
“I- I was doing just fine!”
“Half the beggars you donated to were tricking you.”
“Ah-“You didn’t need to know that! You just wanted to do something good!
“And now you got us sleeping in this small ass room. I bet the betas are having a good night at the chief's home.”
“It can’t possibly be that bad.” You move to the room in question, stopping as you look to see Junpei’s mom passed out on the couch with one leg hanging off. She looked uncomfortable and peaceful in her sleep.
Opening the door you found that the room indeed mirrored Junpei’s. Except for your alphas crowded the floor with extra pillows and blankets. You gawked at how little the space looked with just Toji, Getou, and Gojo sleeping in it.
They were up as well, Getou smoking his pipe as he laid upon Gojo who was playing with some weird toy one of the kids gave him. It was a magic game. You’d open the small glittery box as stars shot out of it. Using a laser pen you had to shoot the stars before they hit the ground. A real alien invader game. It reminded you of the carnival-like game with the ball as each falling star he shot exploded.
“Ah, there she is.” Toji smiled, he had a book in his hands.
“You guys are still up?” You questioned.
“It’s… a bit difficult for us to sleep without you.” Nanami spoke for them. “At least when we are in unknown territory.”
Sukuna snorted, “Are you sure it’s not the tiny room we are all squished in?”
“You can go sleep at the chief's house.” You mumble climbing into the pile. You grabbed a pillow and got comfy next to Getou while Nanami and Sukuna completed the circle with you in the middle.
“Want some?”
“Hm…”
Getou shared with you as you watched Gojo play his game. Your very own astrology show. It was neat.
“Are you still on chapter one?” Sukuna questioned Toji.
The bigger alpha slammed the book in his lap, “It was hard to read.”
“I wonder why.” The accusing twang in Sukuna’s words was not missed.
You took a deep puff, “I was helping an omega who could have dropped. It was best that I was there for him.”
“An unknown omega.”
“I don’t think he could hurt a fly!”
“You just met him.”
“Hmm~” Getou rolled over wrapping his arms around your form, “ you seem to have a soft spot for omegas sweetheart…should I be concerned? Aaah~ Was Sukuna and Gojo right?”
“See?”
“Told ya-“ *PEW* “-fuck yeah~ can I get some?”
You passed the pipe to Gojo as you looked toward Getou, “Suguru…” you began with a teasing voice, “…are you afraid I’m going to run away with a pretty soft omega?” You pinch his cheek playfully.
You noticed his eyes shift behind you and as you looked back with a playful smile you saw Nanami crouching above you. His face was stern and as you looked down at his hands you saw a sash wrapped around his fist.
“Na-“ The blonde pulled your arms back making you gasp as he tied up your hands. “Ah- Nanami what are you doing?” You were so confused you barely even struggled until you found you couldn’t move your hands.
Nanami cupped your face with a tilt to his head, his gaze stone cold. “What is it that you find so fascinating about them?”
“About- about who?”
“The omegas… is it something that we alphas can’t understand?”
WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING? WAIT IS HE TAKING WHAT YOU SAID SERIOUSLY?! IT WAS A JOKE!”
“Ohaha oh shit.” Gojo was distracted from his game clicking a button on the cube as all the stars returned and shut inside.
“That’s a good question.” Sukuna grunted.
“Guys- seriously-“ You tried to stress your words so it could get to their brains. “Nanami I was just joking I would never leave you guys I promise!”
“I wouldn’t allow it…” Nanami stated coldly but the way he caressed your ear was so sweet. How was that even possible? How could he do both so easily. Sweet but sour. “…You belong to us… you are our omega.”
Where did your level-headed alpha go? He was gone! You had one more alpha!
“Da…” you looked up but then stopped as you witnessed Sukuna leaning over whispering in Toji’s ear. His red gaze on you as he spoke like the little devil he is. “Daddy?”
Toji recoiled from something Sukuna said, looking toward him with a deep frown, “She did what?”
“Hm.” Sukuna nodded with a grin as he sat back with his arm resting on his knee.
What the hell did he say to him?
Toji’s eyes found yours as he growled, “You were going to let that omega touch Daddy’s pussy?”
You gasped, did they… like not know that part…what the hell did Gojo and Sukuna tell them?!
“Hm?” Getou hummed
“What do you mean?” Nanami questioned.
“Oh!” Gojo snapped his fingers. “~yeah yeah before Sukuna stepped in…you know that omega? Yeah, the one that you let kiss our girl yeah she was touching all over her pulling her toys out.”
“Sh-she did not pull the toys out!”
“That’s because I stopped her, you told her to.”
“I-i thought you guys didn’t mind! What happened to I’m a free bird and whatever the miss wants!?”
“That was just a kiss, this is different. Why the hell didn’t you guys tell us she was touching her like that? What else did she touch?”
“No- I -you guys can’t be mad at that now! sukuna and Gojo already punished me!”
“Tch- and it looks as though it didn’t stick…”
“Yes…” Getou looked annoyed now while playing with your hair, “Did you do anything naughty with your new toy?”
“I did not-“
“Did he touch you?”
“We cuddled!”
“We should check her.”
“You would have smelt it!”
“She can be sneaky…”
“Listen! I-I know who I belong to alphas! I belong to you-mm…” Nanami pulled you up by your arms.
“It’s okay…” He spoke calmly for you with his gaze lidded, “…maybe you just need a reminder.”
“A constant one.”
‘They’ll be fine- they’ll be fine- yeah- fine!’
Remember when you vowed to never look or talk to another person again? Yeah well, what the hell happened to that plan? Now you have Yandere Toji, Nanami, and Getou jumping ship with Sukuna and Gojo.
Great.
Can you ever win?!
