House of Alphas Chapter 102: Problemè d’émotion (Patreon)
Content
You sat in the bath for a while.
Unsure of how much time has passed.
You didn't get up until your fingers and toes turned to raisins.
Then you went through your routine with robotic motions. Eyes unfocused. You were moving without a thought of what you were doing.
Over and over again…the scene from last night kept replaying right before you… eyes open or closed it didn't matter.
At one point you blinked and found yourself staring at your selection of clothes. You really…really wanted some fucking lounge attire.
You picked the softest dress, which was black and had long sleeves. The lacy hem danced just above ground. Sitting in front of your vanity mirror you scoffed. You looked as though you were attending a funeral.
You fix yourself up.
Once again, you fall into a robotic routine. When finished, you sit for some time. Your eyes appeared to be dead.
“Must you be so dramatic...” you whisper sliding your arms upon the wood, your head falling too.
Your body felt so heavy with emotions.
Throughout all of your thinking… You found that you felt most sorrowful for the woman and her pups. The poor woman had passed through the Chi village and tried to help them…only to be burned for being a witch. Her last moments must have been so painful… she died horribly and worse of all she probably believed her pups would soon follow.
Did she blame herself?
You hope she found peace on the other side.
You hope she saw that you saved her girls.
Would she be happy with what you did?
Were you happy with what you did?
Your nails bite into your skin as you sob.
~
You had finally decided to exit your room.
You had hermit crabbed long enough.
Two plates of food are next to your door. Someone must have brought it to you while you were in the bath. You felt sorry that you missed them, not hearing them knocking on your door. You wondered which one of your alphas brought it.
Picking at the fruit on each plate was all you could stomach. At least it would be something.
It was surprisingly quiet in the hall. There was no one bustling about like usual.
The castle was rather still.
Walking across the stone floor, you pass by the other guest rooms but your alphas’ scents weren't all that powerful.
They must have been out and about.
You wanted to do a quick check-in with them. Let them know you were fine…and make sure they were too... Including Dove. Perhaps if you explain the situation she would understand. If Yu wasn’t angry with you then he could help you.
If she decides to yell and call you a monster then you will accept her feelings with grace and be on your way. There was no point in staying here. You had to get to Shapuro and get your memories back and then think about your next move…the clock continues to tick away…it stops for no one.
There was no time for you to sulk, and dream about home.
You now had another responsibility.
What were you going to do with the girls? Most likely you will take them with you so they can be with G. Ma. It was the most optimal solution. Then you would have to tell her what happened to their mother.
So you had to rip this off like a Band-Aid. Get this shit over with as soon as possible… The sooner you get it done the sooner you can accept whatever comes next.
G.Ma wouldn't hate you, she’d probably thank you for taking revenge. You may have helped your reputation with the witches but where does that leave you with the others? You hope this doesn't cause Dove to become an enemy… and if Tigress were to find out… would she hate you? Call you evil? Compare you to Raven?
How would the world view you now?
Your perfect heroine image… did you shatter it?
You saved Aika but you destroyed the Chi Village.
Was everyone going to hate you now?
Be afraid of you?
Call you a witch?
You walked with your head down, passing the area where you and Getou had stood when you had seen the fire… your eyes were drawn to the memory. As if you were reliving that very moment. That should have been your sign. You should have done something…
But you did, didn't you?
You told Yu to keep others out and you told the fucking priests they needed help like weeks ago! None of them did what was needed. Both of them failed you. They failed the Chi Village, the woman, and the pups.
You weren't sure if you were just going through the stages of grief but you found yourself holding on to this bitterness. You fucked up and lost it but that was because you witnessed some horrendous shit. None of this would have happened if the people you trusted did what they needed to do!
Now you walked with irritation. The priests weren’t here for you to yell at but Yu was. If Dove was going to be mad at you then she should be mad at him too!
Where was he?!
Where was anyone?!
You needed answers!
“Oh-Prime omega.” A beta in a maid's dress greeted you with a bow.
“Where’s Yu?” You ask, trying not to show how upset you were getting.
“He’s…he’s in the omega wing...” The beta spoke softly averting her gaze. She must have been nervous being around you, so you thanked her and went on your way.
Was this how people were going to react around you now?
You weren't someone to fear!
You pondered on this as you crossed the castle but, before you even set foot into the omega hall you were hit with a foul- foul-smell. It punched you in the face like a bag of bricks.
It smelt horrid.
Like rotting onions.
“Eugh…” You made a face as you covered your nose. What the hell was that smell? You had never smelt it before so you had no idea what could produce such a stench.
If you had to link it to anything it smelled close to when an Omega was about to drop but not even that smelled this bad.
Did something happen?
Was Dove okay?
Anger was replaced with worry as you began to run down the hall. She could have dropped, maybe that’s what this stench was! What would have caused such a thing?!
When you got to Dove’s room you found the doors open, but you knew you couldn’t just walk in. Sliding to a halt you peered inside to find Yu sitting on the fancy white and gold bench in front of the bed. His head hung as he stared at a wilting white rosabelle in his hand.
“Yu…” You called his name looking around, searching for Dove. That’s when you noticed the once beautiful flowers that crowded the area. They were all dying and hanging sadly, color draining. There was also a plate of food sitting next to Yu that was untouched. It appeared cold and gross.
“Oh…” Yu looked up moments later as if he finally registered that someone had called his name. “…Raven… hey.” The alpha smiled like it was taking all of his energy to make such a forced expression.
“Yu… where’s Dove? Is she okay?” you ask trying to look over him to see if she was in bed.
“…Dove…” Yu began looking down again, staring at the dying white flower like it had the answer. “…I…well I dunno…”
You frowned, “What? What do you mean?”
“She’s not here…” Yu looked over his shoulder, staring into the bed. His tone was sorrowful as he spoke, “Someone else got her…”
“No…why- What happened?”
“Well…” Yu dropped his head again. “I was so excited…I couldn't stop smiling….nearly drove everyone crazy with how much I talked about her. Tch-” Yu lets out a cracked laugh, “- They had to beg me to take a break on our way there…I was ready to ride all day and night…” Yu fell silent for a moment before he continued talking, “…but…When I got there she was already gone. Mei Mei had apologized for the ‘mix-up’.” Yu scoffed angrily, “Can you believe that? I had all of this set up for my omega… and I go to get her and a mix-up happens? A fucking mix-up?!” Yu growled snapping the stem in half as the flower dropped to the floor. He stared at it solemely. “…Sorry…I’m sorry…” he whispered. It was almost like he was apologizing to the flower. “…I deserve this…especially after failing my people…I didn’t protect them like you asked me to and then…that happened… I don't blame you for what you did… I blame myself… I should have…been there. I’m sorry…”
You were shocked by the alpha’s words. It was a bit too much for you to handle at the moment. You were borderline dissociating. You had already figured out the whole picture from the beginning of his explanation when he said he didn't get Dove. He was a mourning alpha who had lost his omega, and in his wallowing, he neglected himself and the rest of the world. He smelled like he was on the cusp of dropping. Now you understand why that beta seemed nervous around you. She wasn't nervous about you she was worried about her alpha.
He must have been in this room since he had gotten back, rarely eating or sleeping.
You felt sorry for him, you really did…but there was an alarming question in your mind that was weighing on your tongue.
“I’m sorry… Yu that shouldn't have happened...” you gulped nervously finally asking what you needed to know, “Who…who took her?”
”…Mei Mei wouldn't tell me at first but I had someone find out for me… fucking coward…probably didn't want me to know…it was an alpha from up North. Mahito.”
No-absolutely not!
You stepped back and before the dread could fully take its course you bowed, tumbling out an apology, “I’m so sorry Yu!” Then you ran away. You could barely breathe and Yu’s depressing scent was too much for you to handle on top of this daunting news. When you made it to the foyer you fell to the ground, gasping the clean air.
How could this be?
How did that fucking bastard swoop in and take Dove?
Why the fuck did he take her?!
She was already chosen!
Something like that has NEVER happened in the game.
What kind of strings did he pull?!
But most importantly what the hell was his reason?
Why her!?
Did he see how friendly the two of you were at the welcome party? Is this his way of getting back at you?!
Every horrible thought imaginable flooded your mind.
Dove was in the lap of a psycho maniac.
A sadistic fiend who tormented Raven.
“Ah! Prime Omega are you alright?” Someone had called you.
“I-i’m fine- i’m fine-” you were breathing heavily, saliva dripping to the floor. You were not fine.
“I got her.”
You heard a familiar voice as you looked up to see Nanami. “Nanami-” you choke out his name, reaching for his comfort.
“Shh…I got you…” He carried you in his arms as you sobbed.
“He has her- he has her Nanami-”
“I know…”
That had you looking at him with confused teary eyes. He knew. They knew. They were scared to tell you.
“Why didn't you… Why didn't you guys tell me…”
“You were already going through enough little bird…I was going to tell you when you calmed down a bit…Sorry, I couldn't get to you before Haibara said anything…”
You lay your head on your blonde's shoulder, allowing him to carry you to your room.
“Don’t take me there… can you take me to the sunroom…” You whispered softly, luckily your blonde heard.
Upon your request, he took you to the sunroom. It was much different from the one in Tokyoto. The flowers were winter colors while yours were summer colors. Both were equally beautiful in their own ways.
Nanami sat you down at the table and then called for a servant to get you some tea. It was like he read your mind.
You slouched in your seat, taking a moment to just sit in silence. Nanami sat across from you, he seemed distraught, most likely due to your own misery. You felt bad. It was becoming apparent that your alphas cannot be happy unless you are. It was enduring in a way. They wanted to do everything they could to make you happy and you appreciated all their efforts but you couldn't force being happy.
Not when things were so shit right now.
“Uh…” Nanami began but after a moment of thinking he changed what he was going to say. “If you are ready then we can discuss what you want us to do.”
Your knight in shining armor forever ready to pick up his sword and charge at the drop of a command.
“There’s no time for me to wallow in misery…We must act fast. I want to get to Shapuro as soon as possible, get my memories, and then…I don’t know...I want to see Dove as soon as possible too…I need to see her…or hear from her… but I doubt that monster would let her write a letter to me…”
“We can figure something out…for now we can work on the first step which is retrieving your memory. There could be something within them that could help us.”
You nodded slowly. “I hope so…What about Yu? Do you think he will be alright?”
“Mei Mei had offered him an omega free of charge… but he had turned it down… His people are trying to get him to reconsider.”
“Free?” Your face scrunched up as you looked toward Nanami. “Did you just say free and Mei Mei in the same sentence?”
Nanami cracked a small smile, “You heard correctly.”
“Mm..mm…” You shook your head, “…She must see how fucked this situation is. I have never, heard of a ‘mix up’ happening.”
“Neither have I...but I have a theory…”
“What?”
“They offered her double or triple the price for her. I think double, Getou says triple.”
“That… sounds plausible. It would explain why she was offering Yu someone without pay. Mei Mei is a greedy bitch, so I’m on Getou’s side. I think they gave her triple. One payment for Dove, second for the other omega, and a third for her trouble.”
“Now that you put it that way, I must agree…” Nanami sighed as he sat back with his arms crossed.
“What are your thoughts my alpha?”
“…The others are helping Yu’s pack, and filling in for his duties… once we get everything stable we can leave… unless of course you'd like to go now.”
“No…Yu needs our help too…” You felt a sting within your lungs. You find yourself in this state of panic. The longer you wait the longer Dove is with that demon.
You tried to calm yourself down by thinking critically about the situation. Each time you saw Raven, she looked worse… It was a gradual decline… so it didn't happen overnight… Worst-case scenario, you ask Yuta to wipe her memories of Mahito. It was a horrible thought…but that was the cold, hard reality of your situation.
You felt so sick to your stomach that you couldn't even take a sip of your tea when it was finally brought to you. It would appear Nanami had also asked them to bring you some treats to go along with it.
“You need to eat something... Please…”
You knew it was killing him to take care of you. So for his sake, you shifted in your seat and picked at the bread on the mini plate and forced yourself to take little sips. After making an effort to put something in your stomach, you continued with your conversation. “…Why do you think…he picked her…?”
“…I don’t know. That was another discussion we had…Sukuna thinks he’s…using her as a threat…”
“…A threat?”
“He must have known how close the two of you are. With you messing up his plans… he probably wanted leverage. I'm not saying he will use her now… but perhaps when he needs to control you. Going after a chosen Omega and paying more than need be is too coincidental for it not to be done meticulously. I don’t believe Mei Mei showcases taken Omegas, unless they just so happen to cross paths and fall in love.”
“Pfft- doubt.”
“Yes… so the answer is glaringly obvious… he had to have gone out of his way to retrieve Dove for some ulterior motive.”
“Fuck…” You sigh, eyes floating to your fingers. You were picking at the bread absentmindedly. “…Even though I know you will try to say it’s not my fault, we both know I am to blame… With that being said I just want to do what I can to save her as soon as possible.”
“I know…I have a few more things to handle but I believe we can leave by tomorrow morning.”
“That’s fine.”
“And the pups? Would you like to take them to G.Ma?”
“I would…” You nodded, Nanami already knowing your thought process.
“Then it will be done…”
“Uh…before you go…what happened to their mother?”
“Getou wanted to speak to you about that.”
“Kay… I’ll talk to him later…”
Your blonde kissed your cheek but didn't leave immediately, “Will you be alright?”
“I will Nanami, I have to be…”
He gave you one last kiss on your forehead, “You are a strong woman, but don't forget we are here too…we will shoulder the burden with you…”
“I know…” You leaned into him, closing your eyes as he comforted you. You already knew they must be losing it over this situation. Much like the Six situation. They probably hated themselves for not being able to stop you. “…Thank you for talking with me…even though you hate giving me bad news you do it gently but firmly...I know it's hard… so I just wanted to let you know…even though it's not a fun talk...I still need them…”
Your blonde seems surprised by your appreciation. “I will always be here to pick you up…and also give you the space you need… even if the others hated that… But I never know if I'm making the right decision... If things ever get too bad then let me know… I'll do everything in my power to give you whatever you need.”
After such heartfelt words, you shared another sweet kiss with the blonde before he was on his way.
“Nanami…” You called to him one more time, stopping him mid-step.
“Yes dear?” He questioned looking toward you.
“Are…you disappointed in me…?”
“I could never be disappointed in you. A woman with a beautiful heart such as yours doesn't deserve this hell of a place.” With that, he left you frozen.
A beautiful heart like yours?
Would such a beautiful heart of done what you did?
You fear that your heart is not as beautiful as Nanami believed.
You picked up your tea lost in thought but then you heard rustling. Licking your lips you turn to look over your shoulder. A particular part of the flower bush was dancing around as if someone had disturbed it.
You breathed deeply separating the flower smell… There were two other scents in the mix. Something akin to bubble gum and black cherries.
You heard whispers, the voices sounding too young to be any of the adults.
You speak softly as you say, “You can come out now.”
A second or two had gone by before a little head full of blonde hair poked from the bush. The girl stared at you cautiously, “Uh…we-we weren't eavesdropping...” You could see how her arm was extended behind her within the bush, protecting who you assumed was the other little girl.
You waved her over, “You aren't in any kind of trouble. Come here.”
Just as you suspected both sisters were in the bush. Slowly but surely they came toward you. They were wearing blue dresses and white socks. The girl with brown hair was holding a tattered pink doll with a rope around its neck. Most of the doll was missing pieces of its body, and the places were charred from what you assumed was the fire.
You were happy to see that the girls were both cleaned up and no longer had any of their injuries from last night.
They were nervous as they stood before you, the protective sister shielding most of the other. The other young girl hugged what was left of her doll tightly as she gave you peeking glances from over her sister's shoulder.
Then it was like the blonde realized something, she quickly bowed her head in respect, “P-prime omega…” she squeezed her sister's hand as she jerked and quickly followed suit.
“Prime omega...”
You had barely heard the quiet pup.
“You don't need to be so formal girls…please tell me your names.” You offer them a soft smile as they carefully meet your gaze.
“My name is Nanako…uhm and this is my sister Mimiko…”
You recognized their names, Rika had spoken of them before. She was very fond of their kindness to her despite her form. They seemed like sweet girls.
“Hello Nanako…Mimiko…it is a pleasure to meet you. My name is Raven.”
“…” The girls stood before you as quiet settled in the air. They looked to be a little fidgety and dodgy with their eyes.
You wanted to speak with them but now that you are you didn't even know where to start talking to them. They had just lost their mother in the worst way imaginable what the fuck were you going to say?
“I’m…” You started slowly already feeling as though you were going to choke up, but you wouldn't let your emotions get the best of you. Not in front of the pups. “…I’m so sorry... I couldn't get to you all sooner…Please let me know if there is anything I or my alphas could do for you…If you need to talk…or cry or scream that's okay... I’ll be here if you need me…”
You could see their face morph into sadness and their smell take on a depressing scent.
“Girls!”
Your moment was interrupted as an older beta butler came rushing in,” I told you you must leave the prime omega alone!”
The girls gasped stepping away, “Sorry! We just wanted to talk to her!”
“Leave her-”
“It’s fine.” You hold up your hand to stop the man from taking them. “They are fine I want to talk to them actually…”
The man pursed his lips, “Your alphas had given me precise orders to make sure that no more stress is put on to you.”
“They are not bringing me any stress, if anything you are causing me stress.” You raise a brow as the man frowned.
The butler gave the girls one last look before bowing and retreating.
You then shifted toward the girls. For whatever reason they wanted to speak with you but the others were keeping them away. Which you could understand since you were in your room but now you were out of the room. No wonder they were sneaking in the bush, they probably thought you didn't want to see them!
“Have you been looking to speak with me?”
“…Yes…” Nanako spoke for them both.
“What is it? Are you alright?”
“…Your alpha won’t let us see mama…”
You blinked in confusion, “Who?”
“Um…The one with really long hair…”
“Oh…Kay, well let me go speak with him.” You stood brushing your dress down. With the girls close behind you, you made your way through the castle. You wondered why Getou wouldn't allow them to see their mother but perhaps you knew the reason.
When you found Suguru he was busy writing letters in Yu’s office.
You turned to the girls before entering, “Stay right here… I’ll speak to him.”
Slipping inside the poorly lit room, you closed the door behind you. The soft click had Getou looking over to you. His eyes lit up ever so softly as you made your way over.
“Suguru…”
“Hello sweetheart…” He spoke carefully, watching as you slid around the desk.
“Can I sit with you?”
“I would be honored if you sat with me.” He smiled pushing himself back as you plopped into his lap. As soon as you sat down he closed his arms around you and brought you close. A content sigh left him, like you were the thing he needed after a long day.
You heard the flapping of wings and turned around to see a ghostly blue bird land on the desk.
“Give me a sec…” Getou muttered as he scooted the chair forward and swiftly rolled up a freshly written letter to give to the bird.
You watched him work, finding yourself quite impressed with how seriously he was taking this. You knew getou was a hard worker but he never really showed it. He was one of those who could slack off and get away with it but really he hides his efforts under aloofness.
He seemed to have a lot of letters that he was replying to, there was like a mountain of unopened mail. You decided it was a good idea to cut to the chase.
“The pups want to see their mom…” You whispered while playing with your alpha's hair. “…Nanami had said you wanted to talk to me about it…”
He had opened a fresh letter but set it down once you had spoken.
“…I didn't want to put any more stress on you…but I could not bear to let them see her like that…If it's not too much to ask I was wondering if you'd be able to do what you did for Six… I've tried using potions but it won’t work like your magic…and though it won't bring her back I…”
You gently cut him off, “I get it… You don’t have to explain anymore…”
Suguru slowly nodded his head, then he turned to look at you, something brewing within his dark eyes “…I’m glad you did what you did…the only reason I tried to stop you was because I didn't want you to regret it and feel shame. That's it. We have already decided that we will tell everyone else they had been cursed and it had to be done. No one will look at you differently. You don’t have to worry…” There was a bit of tension in his voice, a hint of his yandere side poking out.
You leaned in to kiss Getou on his temple, you didn't have the mental capacity to argue with his statement or delve any deeper, because in truth you doubt any of your alphas care about what you did.
Not like how you did.
Sukuna already said fuck that place, Nanami thinks anything you do bad is a sign of your heart of gold being tainted by this world, and Gojo and Toji probably want to give you your gift so you could be happy again and forget all about it.
If you decided to just kill people who would hold you accountable? Not them that's for sure. They only dislike it when you beat yourself up. They don’t care about the why.
That in itself was actually scary.
This world had better be glad you weren't evil reincarnated.
Perhaps just a little mentally unstable.
You weren't the hero this world wanted but the one they deserve and you were gonna stick to that.

Chef Note: Me reading how everyone is questioning Dove and why she’s upset with us - Yeah guys so crazy…heheh… 👁️👁️. (Me also trying my best not to spoil my own story)
I’d like to also say the situation of killing the village is meant to give you mixed emotions as a reader so if some people say it was good that we killed them and others feel bad then I did my job right. As for myself I'm very much on the fence about it, I can understand both sides! So I love reading how you guys feel about the story and what theories you come up with, its so much fun to read and I do my best not to spoil anything but I'm so excited for you to read more. Each chapter I'm always excited to post and then get to the next one so I can ffeed you more. It is the highlight of my week 😌🖤.
I know it’s back to sad times now but we will get through this I promise 👩🍳
Also did anyone see the dove situation coming? I saw a lot of people point it out in the beginning that this would happen but bringing yu in the mix threw every off (evil chef things I know) 😌🖤
