Its hideous caw greeted you as it flapped down to rest on your arm. Taking the message from its foot, your brows furrowed in confusion. It wasn’t open.

But that was weird…you didn’t just imagine that…

“Thanks…” You thanked the bird staring out into the unknown. You don’t know what had just happened. You wanted to believe maybe the bird was sick and needed a brief break but the way it zipped out of the air was unnatural.

You heard a twig snap and began to backpedal about to sprint- you weren’t going to explore this without backup! But before you could make a mad dash to the castle Mai came out of the bushes.

She looked stunned to see you, “Oh-h-hey. Is it -ahem- time to go?”

“Yeah… just about. What were you doing in the woods it’s dangerous when there's no barrier.”

“This is Poko, he’s a messenger.”

She grimaced, “What's up with your pack and their weird pets?”

She more or less spoke to herself, as she left you behind to ponder.

You looked back at the woods where you saw the bird get yanked from the sky. You checked Poko for marks but you couldn’t find any. And again your letter seemed undisturbed. It still smelled like Dove.

If you never saw what had happened, you would have never believed it.

You will need to discuss this with your alphas because something didn’t seem right.
