That Judaism is a faith, not an ethnicity. Jewish people have belonged to and assimilated into regions all over the world over several millenia, like Daniel's ancestors of the medieval Rhine Valley and Neguise's ancestors of the medieval Ethiopian highlands.

uh, yep. various versions of a faith highly correlated with particular ethnic groups which are highly correlated with cultural traditions. Not that unusual. Being the target(s) of repeated historical pogroms that weren't particularly interested in the ethnic niceties probably made the cultural identity more consolidated than in some cases. But is the "culturally/ethnically Ashkenazi Jewish" concept any harder to understand than "lapsed Italian Catholic"? I don't think so

21:40 - I genuinely think this is the plan for a lot of liberal Zionists. They are counting on being able to land-acknowledgement themselves out of culpability for supporting this. It's why my family reacted so strongly when I told them I'd never let them forget the fact that they supported Israel; they were hoping to pretend they never did, and I just cut off their plausible deniability.

Guys I'm begging you to cool it with these edgy jokes, making jokes about the rape of Palestinians by dogs is fucking gross. Do you genuinely think Palestinians would appreciate two white Jewish guys opening a podcast with a reference to "who let the dogs out" and writing songs about it? It would've been really easy to just re-do that opening and not include that song. That shit wouldn't have been out of place in Israeli channel 14.

I just gotta point out, that as a dog person, they use humping as a tool of dominance as well as an expression of excitement with and without actual arousal. Anyone whose been around dogs enough knows that they'll hump anything. Literally anything. I had a beagle who tried to hump a cactus. Also, as a polisci undergrad in the early 2000s, I had a class on torture and terrorism that covered the use of dogs in this way all over South and Central America, particularly in Columbia during the Civil wars. It's well documented.
