Ok, but is Nezuko an honorary Demon Slayer or am I just projecting my deepest wishes here??

Also, please tell me my Lady Tamayo obsession this episode isn't for nothing... or don't. I will just keep fixating on it until I know for sure.

Let me try to explain with my weak English why Uzui often says the word flamboyant. This is a very common setting in anime that characters have their own catchphrases (not sure if it's the right word but just use it here). Most of the time these catchphrases will hint at the character or experience of the person. This also helps the audience remember these characters. When they recall this character, they will think of the words he often says. About Lady Tamayo, all I can say is that the master mentioning her here is not meaningless. Besides, I want to point out that the Flame Hashira, Rengoku Kyojuro (煉獄 杏寿郎) (I use the Japanese order for names), has a first name '煉獄' (Rengoku) which means 'purgatory.' 'Rengoku' is the romanized pronunciation of the Japanese word '煉獄' (purgatory).

I love your guesses… it is refreshing to hear different points of view. Only time will tell if you guys were right. Awesome reaction as always. Question: would you guys rank in some way season one? I know is not as haikyuu but it could be possible to get best Demon art, saddest back story, etc.. just ideas

Another thrilling ride on the mystery slayer train! Sarah's on board full steam ahead 😆

"I wonder what a high level demon vs a high level hashira fight what look like" Oh man

About the compliment to Kanao for being a girl and being skilled, I have to remind you that this is the 1910s and there doesn't seem to be many swordswoman around.

Linh Tran

Adam is correct about Tsuguko being a swordsman being trained under an active Hashira. They're poised to be their successor after the Hashira retires or dies. They will be taking up the Hashira's responsibility, but they don't always have to share the same breathing types as their Hashira's. The Hashira can scout and choose who they want to be their Tsuguko. I don't remember them touching on when a Hashira can retire or why Nezuko can be in the HQ surrounded by wisteria though.

You’ll find out how Muzan handles the logistics of the 12 kizuki by the end of this season. Very illuminating.

SAMEEEE. PLEASE REACT TO THE MOVIE

Sarah and Adam's wild theories are giving me life! Keep 'em coming!

I’m a little late to comment, but I think Urokodaki’s hypnotic suggestion only worked because Nezuko too believed in not harming humans.. it’s more of a synergistic effect of her own will and Urokodaki’s words that’s allowing her to retain parts of her humanity. Also, Adam is right about the Master - when he said Tamayo’s name, he meant for Tanjiro to know that he knows.

Adam Schulz

This is an interesting thought. I like the idea of the Season One wrap up with some sort of ranking. We will have to think about how to do that.

Mikki_Frost

If im not mistaken, when wisteria's effect on demons were introduced they phrased it something like this "That is because Wisteria, which demons hate so much". This implies that it's not as much of a hard barrier, but more of a strong deterrent. Most likely barely bearable, but not directly harmful.

Cristina

Ohh this is a really good explanation :D

Sarah

Your English was fabulous, and I can say with certainty that I will ALWAYS think of that character when I hear the word Flamboyant now.

Sarah

When you say "Hashira's responsibilities," do we know much about that yet? Can a Tsuguko and their active Hashira work together, or is it more of a step-wise progression?

Sarah

We have seen the episode.... whoa!

Sarah

We (I) can always be counted on for outrageous theories 😊

Sarah

I second that... excellent explanation!

From what I've learned, a Hashira is usually assigned a region to take care of. They would go on patrols and gather information about demon activities there. They're sent to special missions, or supervising other members on missions, or sent in when other members are not able to handle the missions (like you've seen in the last few episodes). Their Tsuguko is under their command. That's the general idea. You'll find out a bit more as the story goes on.
