Join us this Saturday, November 16, at 1:00 pm Pacific Time!!

We got a couple really good ideas for this month's livestream, but since we just finished Haikyu!! Season 3, Adam and I are going to try to create a team that will reasonably give Shiratorizawa a good match.

This suggestion was actually sent to me by a couple different people, and it seems like a lot of fun! We will obviously only be using people that we have seen from Seasons 1-3, but this could be very interesting!

We are really looking forward to doing this and discussing with all of you!

P.S.- we will be doing the other suggestion after the Season 3 Draft Challenge because we loved that idea too!

Love House Livestream: Shiratorizawa Take-down!

In this livestream, Adam and Sarah are going to create a team that will be able to go toe to toe with Shiratorizawa (only from the players we have seen in Haikyu!! seasons 1-3).

Ooh, that's a fun idea for the draft! BTW, I just wanted to note that Adam noticed Ushiwaka was left handed at least as early as the end of S2E11 (end of training camp before the prefecture prelims aka "The BBQ Episode"). There was no discussion but he did quietly say "ooh, lefty" when Ushiwaka spiked the ball.

As much fun as I think the draft will be, I'm always just glad to see you guys in real time (to confirm you aren't AI-generated avatars) and interacting via live chat. Super excited!

Chawamushi

See u guys in playbacks😵‍💫 5am in asia time hahahaha💤💤

Sarah

This won't be a draft, but Adam and I will discuss and work together to try to create one team.

Sarah

We are excited too!!

Ah, I read that wrong and thought you would each be creating a team against Shiratorizawa. But co-op mode is even better! ❤️

I know I'm late but Arcane is REALLY good so I hope you guys end up reacting to it.

I think I'm in the same camp as Adam and Sarah; I think a lot of things had to line up all at the same time for Karasuno to win as they did against Shiratorizawa. They peaked at the right time for sure. I don't want to discredit the play of Karasuno by saying they pulled off a miracle, because it was not. Their prep was way, way more comprehensive since they were underdogs, their players all made plays they've shown themselves to be capable of but would not consistently be able to pull off every time, and they caught Shiratorizawa off guard. That is all to their credit. But it's also 100 percent fair to say that if you look at the base level of play that each team is capable of, it's clear cut - Shiratorizawa wins that the vast majority of the time. Taking only relative skill levels into account, I would put Karasuno winning a full 5-set match at somewhere around 1 in 20, 1 in 25, or 1 in 30. However, if you consider other things as well, such as Shiratorizawa not bothering to have as much intel and prep on Karasuno as they likely would have for Seijoh, Karasuno in both the coach and the players putting in more concentrated thought as to how to counter each of the weapons that they knew Shiratorizawa had, and having the surprise factor with Hinata and Kageyama having the minus tempo quick, those odds do get closer. I single out the minus tempo quick because it's probably the one thing that every team going up against Karasuno does know is coming, but the way that Kageyama and Hinata worked on creating variations of it - straight down, switching tempos, running slides, back row minus tempo, and each and any of those variations being used as a decoy - even if you know that they do a super fast quick, you're going to find it rough to get used to them. Kageyama used the threat of that very expertly in this match, but even without that overperformance on his part (I'd argue it's the best we've seen him use the Hinata connection out of all the matches they've played so far), that's still a unique, wild card threat that ups Karasuno's chances beyond just being able to look at their average level of performance. I'd say that taking all the out of game factors into account, with the final mention going to Tsukishima's personal and mental development going into the match (who Shiratorizawa would never have looked at as a potential threat even if they had tried to prep for Karasuno), you could reasonably make a case that if you restart Season 3 and do it over, there's a 1 in 10 chance that Karasuno wins that match. Maaaybe even 2 in 10, but I do think that's pushing it. And I will say that I think Shiratorizawa played what is probably an above average game as per their standard. It didn't start out that way, but we did see several times over the course of the season that Shiratorizawa players were thinking to themselves that Ushijima was doing a little bit more than his usual throughout the match, and he himself made the statement that he was "starting to get into it". Tendo at one point was also feeling like he was really on his game and made a remark about that, and it took Kageyama constantly making adjustments to slow him down. So I do think it's fair to say that Karasuno did overperform, and may have been playing at 90-100 percent of their ability all match, but Shiratorizawa, rather than being at 80 percent, probably fluctuated between 75 to 90 percent of their ability for most of the match.

Talosig23

Hi. For the captions, can we have it as well in streamable?

Desi

Omg I think you both should react to Arcane. I think Sarah would really enjoy it as well, and you don't need to know anything about LoL to watch it

Lidia Dias

I'm pretty sure Kuroo would keep Bokuto in line. I think there's a great deal of respect there. This lineup is great!

Cc
