This experience went from one end of the spectrum to the other, and I still can't believe it. Did anyone cry as hard as I did watching this, or do I just need help?! 😭

This was absolutely outstanding, and I love when an episode can shock me.

Nezuko isn't fully human yet, look at her fangs, her hair and her nails. Right now she has the mentality of a toddler and a very limited vocabulary.... that's all I can say without spoilers. "Yokatta... ne? ne????" Edit to remind you that the movie that was released after this season isn't worth the while, it is just a recap of this season with a few scenes of the next. It doesn't change perspectives or add any more information like Mugen train did, you can skip it.

This episode has such outstanding directing. The music, the montage, the cinematography all came together here to deliver this epic moment. Demon Slayer really knows how to evoke the feels. I may have been more worried for Sarah than for Nezuko 😂.

ive watched and rewatched the whole series so many times and im still sobbing so loudly with you, sarah! 😭😭 you're not alone! I wanted to say to you both since its the ending of this arc, that I've been following you for almost a year now, and you guys have become part of my week and day to day, through work, college, routines etc. Watching you and waiting for the new releases is always so exciting and something im eager for, and i now can't imagine it being differently! I hope I'll get to watch you and hear your opinions for a long long time :) You guys make me happy. Hugs from argentina 💜 💕

Sarah

Fair. I'm still not ok 😭

Sarah

This is so sweet! Thank you so much. You made my day!!

Jay

Love the emotions!! Beautiful Finale. I have this arc and the entertainment district equal for me personally! I really like how Sarah noticed the precious smile from Genya towards the end. He must've been thinking about his own relationship with his brother Sanemi, when he saw Nezuko and Tanjiro together. Love that he didn't feel jealousy, he was just happy for them. Muzan is finally taking action, can't wait for season 4!

Randy

Yea this episode destroyed me too.

One of the best episode in the series. A good mix of emotional rollercoaster, info, and action. Next season, hashira training arc was my least favorite but really hypes you up for the upcoming movies.

Season 3 is definitely demon slayers strongest season to date. The plot in this season is more engaging (for me) than the first 2 seasons and that's because the stakes are higher in this season. Knowing that a loss against Hantengu and Gyokko would mean the destruction of the Swordsmith village, the death of the villagers and the loss of their only means to fight the demons makes the outcome of this conflict feel more meaningful than the previous seasons The way the ideologies of the demons tie into the plot enhance the story in this season. Having a coward like Hantengu who refuses to take responsibility for his actions sent into a smithing village where people are responsible for making weapons that will be used to take the lives others juxtaposes his character perfectly. His blood demon art is another way for him to avoid taking accountability for his actions by having his "emotions" act independently and commit attrocities while he gets to remain an "innocent" party which contradicts the way a swordmans mind and body have to work in tandem with the sword cut properly. The way Gyokkos pride as an artist interacts with the reason that the swordsmith village exits is also interesting. Gyokkos art is way to make money for muzan and serves to validate his existance. Without his art, he would be another demon who serves no purpose to Muzan other than finding the blue spider lily which is why Muichiro disrespecting his art made him so angry because it felt like his existence was being questioned. The swordsmiths aren't making swords for glory and fame, they make the swords with the sole purpose of trying to put an end to the demons and this single minded determination help others is seen when Gyokko tries to break Haganezuka's concentration while he is refining tanjiros sword and when Kotetsu helps Tanjiro by letting him spar with the doll knowing that if it breaks it can't he repaired Tldr this season is PEAK CINEMA

“He's smoking a little bit ”🤣🤣🤣 Darn it, Adam is too good to be fooled! He’s the new genie 🧞‍♂️ I’m very surprised that the whole Nezuko tribute with incredible music playing in background didn’t get you, but it’s actually when Adam pointed out how selfless she is that got you. Don’t worry Sarah, those are some good tears and you know we love you for being emotional🥹

Sarah

bahahaha ☠️

Sarah

The tears stuck with me too. I couldn't shake them!!!

Sarah

Amazing comment. Incredible insights. 💯 💯 💯 I love it

I actually had to remind myself to take a deep breath when Tanjiro started hyperventilating because I was legitimately panicking along with him despite knowing what was going to happen - just the way they depicted his emotions and him basically having a panic attack was so well done that that scene always hits me hardest. But Adam's immediate refusal to believe Nezuko was dead had me laughing in the next second, lol.

riddle

first time viewer - my thoughts are all over the place, please excuse lol oh my god that demon crushing tanjiro's head gave me inosuke flashbacks 😭 also when tanjiro was trying to decide what he should do, whether to leave nezuko or continue fighting, it brought me back to when he first met urokodaki. when urokodaki slapped tanjiro for not being able to answer his question about what he would do if nezuko were to devour a human and saying that tanjiro is too indecisive when making tough decisions. my favorite arcs were this season and the beginning of season 1 where tanjiro was fighting "weaker" demons as a rookie since we got to see him develop his skillset and learn to think on the spot. im team humans obviously, but from a strategy standpoint, i feel like now that muzan knows that nezuko has conquered the sun, he should just send all of the uppers (and maybe even some non-upper strong demons) to ambush them right now while tanjiro is weak and not close to any hashira or strong swordsmen to back him up. muzan seems to be able to detect the location of all the demons and can track where tanjiro is because of nezuko so i dont think it would be that difficult. i think if he waits any longer he'll be at a huge disadvantage since tanjiro will be healed, stronger, and more prepared.

Jay

Quick note : Nezuko/Tamayo/Yushiro are not under Muzan's control so unlike the other demons he can't see anything about them or their location (The anime made it seem like he could see her but it's not the case) and also Tanjiro leaves early in the morning so I would imagine he should arrive at the butterfly mansion before night comes. Which is when Muzan will be able to make a move.

riddle

How was Muzan able to see Nezuko (or if not physically see her, but know about her conquering the sun) if the upper demon died before we got to see her alive in the sun? Is that explained in the manga? (if it's in a later season don't tell me lol)

Things just took a turn with this episode. I would say this season reaches big milestones when it comes to the storyline 🤯. Nezuko, Tanjiro, The First Breathers, Muichiro, Muzan - all of them connected by the string of fate 🪢😲 Seeing Tanjiro hyperventilating, followed by Sarah’s incessant sobs was so difficult to watch - it felt like I had to do some sort of breathing on their behalf 😅But oh well - all’s well that ends well, at least for this season 😉 P. S - it is my understanding that the experimental medicine made Muzan that way, as an unexpected side effect. He used to be sick and that treatment gave him youth and power. If we go back to Season 1, you may remember that Muzan always favoured Rui a lot more, inspite of being mere Lower Moon 5. That’s because Muzan saw himself in him, who was always sick while human, and attempted to “save” Rui by turning him into a ruthless demon. I hope that makes sense!

Aside from the production team's dedication and outstanding performance in sound and visual effects, the storyline of Demon Slayer itself is not particularly complex. However, its portrayal of character development and emotional twists is probably the main reason I love this work so much. Therefore, I've always felt that Season 3 is more solid and emotionally captivating than Season 2.

Sarah

Yeah, how could he know immediately that she had conquered the sun?? Also, good reminder about the Urokodaki scene when he called Tanjiro out for not being able to make tough decisions! I forgot about that!

Sarah

Ahhhhh good call. That's a good insight

what GAGGED me and also what i thought was the biggest plot twist (to me, at least) was the origin of demon power/demon muzan. Along the story we were made to believe that it was almost like a spiritual thing, a higher power/god-like, or even genetic/natural. It's like we were told: it is unknown how muzan is a demon, he just is, believe it. But then this demon thing.... it turns out to be human-made. And at the same time we're seeing what makes Nezuko more "human" again, and it's not a cure, not math, and it's definitely not a product of something scientific or "human-made". It's kindness, selflessness, it's love and care. I'm honestly very moved because this idea argues the notion that "humans are inherently evil" and instead pushes forward "humans are inherently kind" and that "evilness, such as greed, selfishness, ignorance, etc. is always a choice." I hope this really is the message the author wishes to convey. Because when i think about it, i get teary. Or..... I could just stop overthinking things LOL

Sarah

This is great! If it's overthinking, keep overthinking! haha

I love how Adam inadvertently made Sarah cry even more with his commentary. LOLz

The Shadow Monarch

It was upper 4 Hantengu. When upper 4 was getting beheaded he saw Nezuko getting all better in sunlight behind Tanjiro, which was then relayed to Muzan. That is why he says “well done Hantengu”
