Let's keep the Cry Counter going 😭 I don't even know where I'm at at this point, but the tears are getting more and more aggressive as we go here 😂

Another beautiful moment, and the twins' backstory is also such a highlight 😍

So the way I've seen Atsumu especially based of the interaction in middle school where he asked if there was anything wrong with my sets if the other kids had had a critique for him he would have said something like ok it will never happen again

Maurice Chai

Love the two arms vs. ten fingers words from Atsumu!

The OST during the twins flashback is such a bop!! It brings together the scene really well and elevates it even more, don’t know how but I feel like I’m paying even closer attention to that part because of the music lol That dynamic between Atsumu and Osamu is probably what Kageyama and Hinata would be like if they grew up together, it’s really fun to imagine what their skill level would be like if they did! Something I noticed after watching it a few times, if you remember back when Ukai first saw the minus tempo quick, he had asked takeda if hinata and kageyama grew up together! He commented that it was really so “cruel” that they haven’t grown up together most likely because he knows that they like to push each other to the fullest just like the Miya twins! It’s like a waste of potential, they could’ve been just as good if not even better than the Miya twins if they grew up together in the right environment!

I can't say I have any love for Atsumu, but that moment of happiness explaining why he sets the way his sets because he's a setter, that a nice human moment that makes me not hate him, lol. Furudate writes characters like no one else, I swear. As for the Nishinoya/Kinoshita moment, that's one of the top moments of this season, and I cry like a baby at it.

Loved the bit where Aran said Osamu was Atsumu's best asset, esp when the scene cut back to his talking about how it must be annoying/frustrating/a bad feeling when your teammates or friends hate you. Because we cut to Atsumu angsting alone and Osamu kind of reminds him that he's not alone and to get out of his head a bit by throwing the ball at his head and engaging with him. No matter how crazy Atsumu gets, Osamu's there right at his heels to match his freak. The only one to bring him down to earth, pop his head, or remind him that he doesn't need to be liked by his teammates - he has osamu (in a way less sappy way lol). That's the bittersweet part of growing up also - that we can already see with the training camp that their paths are diverging and will continue to in the future.

Also for context, Atsumu and Tendou were arch-nemeses #1 and 2 in my books on first watch. I was so peeved (bc I hate trolls lol bc I live with one). But now I love them.

Hero. I swear I've seen this 7 times, and it never fails to make me cry and hype at the same time. Beautiful storytelling, especially when we witnessed an Adam tear. The twins competing with each other kind of mirrors Kageyama and Hinata's relationship, particularly when doing running exercises. Sarah's right when the episodes are getting better and better. Can't wait for next week's episode! 22 ;)

Atsumu and Oikawa are tied for my favorite character. They're both jerks and they both have their personality flaws but they absolutely love the game, hate losing, and do anything they can to give their spikers the best sets.

It's interesting to see that Osamu was kinda the bridge for Atsumo to make contact with his Teammates. Kinda reminds me of my own sister getting me involved with others in school since I'm too introverted! Also, I sure teared up again when Nishinoya was pointing at Kinoshita. He needed help, and he was there. When I played soccer, it was similar, with every pass leading to the goal- it's a team effort! Even from the bench.

Sarah

Very good points here, and I do remember Ukai using the word "cruel" when asking about Kageyama and Hinata early on. Good parallels

Sarah

Yeah, I think we are on the same page. I'm not an Atsumu fan per se, but the human element of that part is really endearing

Sarah

That was really such a beautiful/bittersweet part, when Osamu acknowledged that Atsumu loved volleyball more than him and that he wouldn't continue pursuing it. It will be sad for both of them to go their separate ways because they've been together through it all

Sarah

Atsumu and Oikawa definitely seem to be crowd favorites, and I feel like if you like one of them, it makes sense to really like the other. I'm not a big fan of either (as we know) but I do really appreciate their backstories and the human elements that are shown of them

Sarah

Ugh that Noya/Kinnoshita part gets me every time!!!
