The flashbacks continue to give me life... Himmel's take on the sunset and the fact that Frieren wanted to be sure to see it this time around is incredible, and I love understanding different parts of the original mission. Everyone was impacted by that 10-year journey in different ways 😊

One thing to note is that is that the first four episodes released at the same time. I feel like it may have acted as a "prologue" and introduction to the setting and characters. That being said it's one of the slower shows I've watched but still I really really enjoyed it. On the note of Adam's questions is if a character is an elf it will be mentioned or obvious within the first few moments of a characters introductions.

Yes, the show is slower than others you might be used to, but when it gets going, it GETS GOING. But also, this story is about the journey and the connections you make from the journey rather than the destination or end goal. To answer a few of your questions: 'Why did it take them so long to clean the beach?' Yes they have magic, but they still have to lift all the boards, burn them, and rinse and repeat with just the two of them. They also say that a lot of wrecked ships wash up constantly, so it's possible it increases as they do it from newly wrecked boats washing up. Remember, it's one giant beach with just the two of them. It also illustrates that just because they have magic, they aren't omnipotent gods, which i really like. Maybe Frieren can lift all of it on her own, but they're also literally next to a town, and that could cause disturbances with the fire and noise. 'Is Flamme a human?' Yes, look back and look at her ears. The show makes it very clear if someone is an elf. The first 4 episodes released as a full-feature 'film' in Japan. The first 4 episodes are really meant to be watched in one sitting, as it sets up the world, the story, the characters, and the journey. Your mentioning of how slow it feels is because it's like watching 1/4 of a movie every week. Yes, I'm aware they released them into individual episodes, but based on the initial release, watching them altogether is definitely the way to go. But after this, it should normalize out.

It’s nice to see beautiful sceneries like that on your own, but I think there’s something special about sharing that experience with others, especially those close to you. I enjoy hiking, and I know that whenever I discover a cool/scenic course, I always end up going back with friends/family because I want to share that experience with them.

I think it's not clear YET about Flamme. Especially since her ears were covered by her hair.

Nathaniel Wanner

At 21:28 you get a clearer view of Flamme's ears. It's mostly the front angle where you don't see them, and I definitely concede that people are not looking at her ears in that scene. But eagle eyed viewers can confirm that Flamme is human in her scene with frieren. Frieren's ears protrude a lot from the side of her head, so if Flamme was an elf, they would also protrude past the hair on the sides of her head. On first watch I definitely understand, I went back and looked on my first watch cause I wanted to know if she was an elf

The show is indeed a bit slower than what you're used to, but little fun fact, the first four episodes were released in bulk at the same time because they are supposed to be all set up episodes. So yeah, you just finished the prologue, basically!

JAMES D'ALESSANDRO

There is a reason why Frieren has trouble getting up early and why we see her yawning from time to time, and as for the bench cleanup...there is a shit ton more debris under the water that we can't see. That might be why it is taking so long, or maybe you guys are right. They are slacking a bit

frieren said that she would be dead in 1000 years to which she replied yeah but your not going to be.

so fun fact, in German "Himmel" means Heaven. So Frieren is in fact on a journey to see "Himmel" again after all!

Just catching up now, how no one commented on Adam calling Qaul just a “minion” is killing me….he figured out how to use and the weakness of defensive magic in like two seconds, he was so strong Himmel’s party had to seal him because they couldn’t kill him…..if he survived or the seal broke early this dude would have been a problem.
