IMPORTANT TO READ NO SPOILER!! Next episode, ep.4, there will be a scene after outro. Make sure you don't skip it, as its major context for the episode after.

This episodes shows what Reiner meant when said to Eren in season 2 ep 6 "We were just kids... we didn't know anything!" right before transforming on the wall. Young people are in a uniquely contradictory period of their lives where we have little knowledge of the world and the complexities of life while simultaneously having extremely passionate and strong beliefs about what is right and wrong. It is sickening to see these kids grow up within a system (Marley) which brainwashes them and harnesses their passion and drive to achieve its own goals of power and imperialism. And after being used, these kids are discarded and left to face the consequences of their sins as they grapple with what they have done in the name of a cause which was a sham.

We see Reiner’s backstory leading up to the present day where we tries to commit suicide. Particularly the scene interleaving Reiner’s past supporting Eren in his quest to finish the Titans, with Reiner himself preparing the gun in the present. Reiner knew the truth of the world and was, in a sense, brainwashing Eren with the goal that the titans are the true enemy - so in a very similar way how he himself was brainwashed to act in a specific role. Giving someone a grand goal that you know it’s a lie. And I think he realizes how sad that is and how he must feel continuing the cycle.

I remember them saying they were going to watch it in cinema but yes an eta if they will watch it or not would be awesome.

When was that? You don't sound too sure but really you're trying to undermine me asking lol?

Maybe not a 'major' episode, but always one of my favorites to watch with others.
