Thanks for the early access, loved it 🙂! I don't like the attitude of wrapping people around their fingers and using people and double standars, but it is catchy as heck, hard not to like, since it really has this relaxed summer vibe to it 😎🌞 I love the fact that your are covering more than just the music theory stuff, that u also talk about the other aspects of things and life and so on, like this time the sexualizing of artists amongst other things. So there's a bit of everything for everyone. I enjoy hearing the music nerdy stuff too though, even though I don't understand all the technical stuff, but for some reason the structure of songs and how they are built is interesting to me. Or how they have come up with the idea, lyrics etc.

I don’t know why you, watching that type of videos, make me lol. Maybe there’s something wrong with me. But thanks:) And Madonna was probably inspired visually by Marilyn Monroe’s Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend

Excited to watch this! And it's my day off today💖♥️💖♥️💖

Still really into these breakdowns. One thing that struck me as interesting is that Sabrina Carpenter is rumored to be the older blond girl who stole Olivia Rodrigo's boyfriend in drivers license. She's playing into type casting or maybe she is a bad girl. Who knows.

When I first heard the song, the melodies felt repetitive and hooky but I grew tired listening to it because of how often my local radio plays it. And I didn't want to find out more info like the splice loop bit. I love seeing Oliver's reaction vid and that many artistes using his samples is impressive. I didn't expect there are bits of variation coz all I heard are just repetition so that was a nice surprise. About music videos, imo they're still relevant and evolving because the visual aesthetics or impact or storytelling get circulated around in reels, tiktoks, reviews, etc. Seems short or fleeting but it's good enough to capture one's attention. I enjoyed the holistic approach of this deep dive. Thanks for this vid, Joel~~💜

Wait, is this the same bachelor party that ended in y'all getting ambushed by another swedish friend on the paintball field??? 😶‍🌫️

“it’s such an ear worm, it’s like i’m blue” omg joel i did not need those two songs battling for dominance in my brain today but thanks i guess😂 also yes i literally couldn’t tell the first several times i heard espresso if it was meant to be a joke or not😅 sigh as a bi girlie i do have to agree with you too that at a certain point the “sexy” of it all, especially when it becomes an artists whole sthick, it does just feel like blatant marketing🤷🏼‍♀️ while sabrina may not be my favourite singer ever it does make me so happy to see her finally getting her recognition!🥹 plus i think using samples the way she has here makes it feel more “accessible” if that makes sense, which is super cool i think

Lol 😂😂😂 I swear I'm not creepy, I just remembered said then-bachelor talking about it 😊 Saying that you were a really thoughtful friend planning a great day 😊

Thanks for the early access! The boat thing looks very nice! I didn't know about that, I'll add it to my "things to do in England" list. Very impressed that this doesn't exist here.

Hayley

Sorry, I'm extremely late to this party! "Espresso" is definitely a love-it-or-hate-it kinda song. Going against everything I've ever stood for- I'm in the love camp. It's the most bubbly of bubblegum pop which is usually not my cup of tea, but my Lord, it's catchy! It's definitely a song that doesn't take itself too seriously so I can forgive the lyrics tbh. Maybe it just reminds me of a really good time in my life (I first heard it when I was on holiday in Norway having an amazing time) but either way, it definitely had a huge effect on music in 2024.

60's beach movie kind of vibe. Something fun that was in "Earth Girls Are Easy," just making over exaggerating the sexuality of feminine. It's always a tactic to make others not think just be.....desiring animal need. Grabbing the lower energy vibes, it's always worked. This was so much fun. Thank you, it is true not letting life distract whilst creating. To be able to have that time.....aah that would be sweet. ❤️❤️❤️✌️😂❤️
