Pro Blood at home: Still catching up after the deluge. This was actually supposed to come out before the Chaser video did. It didn't exactly work out like that. Just like I was going to do Doom: No Rest For The Living next, like months ago, but that's changed into Return to Castle Wolfenstein because I'm still not sure how I'm going to approach another DOOM video when it's just more DOOM, which is the perils of covering expansion packs in general. I didn't have that problem with Fleshed Out and I usually don't have that problem with anything Build-engine related because those kinds of games go so far over the top that I am in awe of their cheeky bullshit. Oh, right, I casually mentioned Return to Castle Wolfenstein, which will be the first Civvie video to be presented in 4K, giving that nasty bitrate that YouTube gives 1080p videos the boot. After acquiring a new PC, I was really hoping to make the switch to 4K. You never really know how Adobe products (especially After Effects) will behave when suddenly jumping to 4K60. "But Civvie, you've uploaded in 4k before!" Yeah, a couple times, when I was trying to do the Totalbuscuit trick of upscaling a 1080p video to get a better bitrate from YouTube. I think actually making a 4k video will achieve this much better.  I ended up writing, voicing, and editing an intro chapter where I played through Spear of Destiny on Death Incarnate - you know, so we can be fully in-the-know about Wolfenstein lore and not just so I can torture myself - and I can safely say that the dumb bullshit I did in After Effects, in 4K, works as well as anything I was doing in 1080p, and I suspect my plan to brute force Adobe into compliance with a 12-core Ryzen 9 has worked.   Anyway, going to try to get the RTCW video out by the end of the month, though I expect it's going to be another long one. Imagine my surprise when I found out that Death Incarnate doesn't do anything but change health and ammo pickups.  Keep it greasy,

Are ya using any mods or source ports for the rtcw vid? Last time i tried running the game it kept crashing when i tried to change the resolution.

oh god yes, I ran it in ioRTCW. Ain't no way I'm getting a decent, stable widescreen resolution and field of view without that. The only problem I had was the little bit of fire at the tip of the flamethrower was misaligned.

Ehh, im impartial to which games you make videos about. Im going to be here either way! That being said, i do recommend you give Prey 2017 a try, I think its the most refined iteration of the 'bioshock formula'. I loved it a lot

yeah it is, but YouTube's bots didn't find it in the checks because it's mostly buried by gameplay noise.

Speaking of DOOM, I would really like to see your take on the work of scumhead. I really enjoyed Shrine and Lycanthorn, and even though I haven't played Vomitoreum, I've heard and seen great things about it. His sprite work is phenomenal, mixing Eldritch Horror, Body Horror, and Eroticism to create beautiful, yet horrifying, imagery. Plus, the gameplay is good for all games (except for Shrine I, because it just feels to similar to Doom 2). I highly recommend it. Also, for shits and giggles, do HalfQuake Trilogy.

More blood! Yes! You should try the Shotgun gravity trick: Jump and at the right angle hit the target with a double barrel shot. That will give the target massive amounts of fall damage because of the shotguns push back!

Nice! Always good to see some of the Blood expansions other than mine getting some coverage. Trauma Therapy is a fairly recent one you should definitely check out if you haven't yet. I think you'll need to use NBlood since it has custom art and sounds. Highly detailed and has 2 completed episodes. A lot of the ideas in there are pretty interesting so there's a lot to talk about.

Sorry to hear about the viral illness, throat wrecking pathogens are top-tier awful in their persistence and discomfort... I had my tonsils removed when I was 18, but I had to wait a few weeks for the surgery due to having tonsillitis, strep throat, thrush, and a yeast infection *simultaneously* (my tonsils were completely garbage by that point). I'm glad to see you're back to engage in the kind of suffering we've come to know and love you for.
