NPC: Oasis Sentinel (Patreon)

Medium Humanoid (Elf), typically neutral good, CR 2

"The desert never sleeps, never forgets, never forgives. But neither do we. We bleed red so that something green and beautiful may endure."

Every elf of the Wolfrider Clan is charged from birth with a terrible duty: to push back against the desert’s slow erasure of everything green and living, and the industrial rot that accelerates it. It is a war without a visible front and without a foreseeable end.

The younger members of the clan — and those whose gifts run to blade and bowstring rather than magic or wolf-bond — are given the first line of that war: patrolling the approaches to the forbidden oasis, turning back those who would exploit it, and ensuring that those who cannot be turned back do not leave to try again.
